Under construction and shit. My construction company is lame, just as me. So this may take a while.

Exactly. If this anime initially only was light-hearted this would not bug me at all...but it's a show that somehow tries to fit in drama and a serious story with a society facing problems we could not know. If they proceed to focus on the average-as-it-gets romantic relationship it won't turn out well at all I guess...
Haha oh I will enjoy it :D
I'm at episode 9 already and I gotta say up until now it's a great 4th season :)
Hey man I really like your Plastic Memories review!
The idea of this sci-fi-like world and Giftias is pretty nice but unfortunately I don't feel like it's being used and instead the plot falls into average rom-com.
All the drama feels so manufactured, then there's no tension buildup because you KNOW at the end of the episode that the Giftia was just a robot, and they knew this would happen. It's just a giant "whatever". What also burned me was the fact that they mention that Isla's time is almost up in the second freaking episode... no buildup, no figuring it out for ourselves, nah, just hit the audience in the face with it, "that'll show them the feels!"
Wrong. It's insulting to my intelligence to just straight up throw it out there. It's so heavy handed that it's hard to take seriously... like, you just met this kid, and he tells you this sob story, but you're here to take his robot away... okay, you might fall for that if you're a complete sucker- but as the audience, we have NO, 0, zilch, nada attachment to characters with literally 5 minutes of screentime.
There's no introspection either, no "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?". It's just plain boring.
Thank you for your Plastic Memories review. I am one of the few that support you there lol. You summed up a lot of what I was thinking: a squandered attempt at both a "feelsy" show about familial loss, and one of existentialism and what it means to be human. The point about Giftias replicating emotions is a GREAT one, and it won't be explained, I'm certain.
This ain't no Blade Runner, this ain't no Ghost in the Shell. It's extremely unfortunate that this is an anime original by a new studio, because it might kill them. Not sure enough people will actually see through the paper thin "plot" though, because the median age and EI of anime watchers is apparently about 12 years old.
No, Guy. My brother is the shapeshifter. As his name on Chatango is literally "Shapeshifter." I can't steal his schtick.
Jobs and school. A familiar mantra. I wish you good luck with your endeavors. I already have a job, but my first day of school is in two days. Hoorah, hoorah.
Wait, visiting other cities and meeting people? Are you an agent?
