I'm still rooting for Chihaya-chan and her friend is definitely there for her :3 |

| Oh man things are really heating up now... This episode did a really good job at building up Ousaka Megumu as a fierce competitor for Chihaya. They examined all facets of her like her drive but what I found was more interesting is how they sympathized her through her camaraderie with her Karuta club. Megumu isn't all that different from Mizusawa save for the fact she isn't the protagonist. What also played well into making Chihaya the underdog was everyone assuming that Megumu's team was going to face Fujisaki or Hokuo. I really hope that Mizusawa doesn't lose so early into the "real" competition but I wouldn't be surprised since Chihaya doesn't have plot armor as evidenced from last season. |
| I feel Im the only idiot that watches Chihayafuru like its the freaken super bowl. Im literally shaking all nervously, almost in tears Q____Q. I love this show so much. Dear god, I become an emotional mess when I watch this show and I feel every 20 minute episode is 5 seconds long ;___;! I swear, this show always does this thing they do in every match where they show the personal story of the opponent making me pity and sympathize them and wishing them FOR A SECOND that they could win b/c we see how hard they worked, but then I smack myself in the face remembering I want Mizuzawa to win SOO BAD ; ~ ;!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HAVE CHIHAYA WIN! PLEASE!!!! ; ____ ; I dont want to spoil myself and read the manga so I'll just torture myself and wait till next week, but I swear, just imagining them losing makes me want to cry buckets of tears T_____T PLEASEEEE DONT MAKE THEM LOSEEEEEEEEE PLEASE GODDDDDDDDD!!!! and also, Kana is such a great friend to have around ; u ; <3 Im so proud of how well shes been doing! ^^ |
| Episode was great, just felt kind of slow. I feel like I should wait 13 weeks and marathon the remaining episodes. |

| I knew this match won't be easy. Really intense stuff right now :) Kana has really grown on me as a character. She's really awesome ^^ Glad that Chihaya can put up a fight. I just love when Chihaya gets the card before it's even said. That gives me goosebumps everytime hehe :D But man...I really have no idea who will win. That's one of the awesome things about this series. U never know who will win :) |

| 6 cards. In the entire episode we only saw 6 cards taken in her match with Megumu. I've already given the series a 10 but I wish I could raise it after this flawless episode. |

| Frick, I want Chihaya to win so bad but I have to be realistic here: they probably won't have her win against the West representative so early. Though there may be a chance that Chihaya can win, I think she will lose a close game but Mizusawa will still go onto the finals. I wonder what the Fujisaki coach said to the girl. |
| This is what I felt like: Episode lenght: 23 min - 3 min OP & ED - 2 min showing the last scene from the last episode - 7 min of showing the past - 3 min in total showing inner monologues of everyone Time that is left for the match: 8 min ....Waiting for the next Chihayafuru episode: 10.057 min Anime can be so cruel sometimes... |

| Ace no tame ni! Megumu's flashback was amazing! Regardless, our ace is all I really care about! Next episode should confirm the finalists! And we can all make wild guess and still figure which two teams would be in the finals. Aaa~ mo~ If it wasn't for the Fujisaki's coach whispering something to her team, I wasn't really sure whether our team will be facing them or a rematch will be on the cards against Hokuo. Hokuo is my second favourite team in the anime! But now it's kinda obvious that they won't cut it! |

| This was very slow and boring episode. Why the hell I have to know past about almost every opponent. So much point of views is ruining the main characters. It feels like we are just watching a bunch of people playing card game with no particular reason cheering for someone to actually win. |
| So that megane guy was depressed about just like predicted was about the enemies not seeing them as strong team or something like that. That tennen girl with evilness... her real enemy is Fujisaki, so she intended to ignore them. And her friends are making her a queen. Miyu-Miyu's character is actually sharper than he looks. Real battle next ep.! |

Even Chihaya's team would be marked MC's with more reason than him. Not that I don't like him or anything. Well anyways well now I have to wait another week for another 20 min. Simply NOT enough. :/ |

| Didn't really care for the Megumu character at all. I know they're trying to build up all of Chihaya's opponents, but the number of flashbacks this episode seemed to waste too much time. We really could have done without the three photography geeks, as they hardly seem to contribute much to anything. The last few minutes between Chihaya and Kana-chan did turn things around, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this wraps up. |

I would have been pissed if Megumu had sat down in the wrong place because she thought that I wasn't worthy. Despite the way she is, she's still one good Karuta player. I'm looking forward to a great match in the next episode. Hopefully, Arata will be allowed inside to cheer on Chihaya. |

Normally, I like 4th wall breaks in anime, but it's almost a little too much in this season of Chihayafuru. If the producer/developer/whoever made the decision feels like he/she needs to apologize to the audience for including something, then maybe they shouldn't include the scene in the first place? (I'm talking about the annoying photography scene, who's sole purpose seems to be setting up the fact that 1. she's conniving and knows how to give before she takes, and 2. she's gotten faster? I'm not sure how much the former adds to her personality and a simple observation from Chihaya would have sufficed for the latter.) I do appreciate all the side character development though. Especially if they're going to be reoccurring side characters. Maybe if it wasn't such a lengthy block of flashbacks? Although I guess it could be equally annoying if they interjected flashbacks in the middle of a match. As it stands, it was too much of an info dump. A perfect series is when, by the end of an episode, I happily reflect on it while also being super excited for the next one. Too many Chihayafuru episodes this season have me leaning towards the latter. They've been really good set up episodes that enhance the next episode well, but probably because I'm not marathoning this show, it's a little frustrating to wait a week and then get stuck watching a set up episode. Although the flip side of that is if the pacing rushed too much, then that would be a bigger problem. So it's a hard balance to strike, and I guess I prefer what it's been doing (erring on the side of too much information) than the alternative (making Chihayafuru a results orientated anime). |
| Well, I was wrong. I thought that they'd crank it up again this week but that makes for two slow simmering episodes in a row. I don't mind the pacing on principle, but I don't really feel that they're using it for good. Last week's tension has vanished. After all the agonising over whether Desktomu would play or not, he didn't get a word in this week and only showed up long enough to let us know that he was indeed playing. The story-telling seems too measured right now. I'm hoping that the creative staff were confused about how to set this match and its opponents up and gave us these two compromise episodes but now that this is done, they'll be able to fire it up again; the calm before the storm, as it were. We'll see. I'm still feeling good about this series but it's been slipping after a barn-burner episode 10. |

They really conflicted with her present attitude. Unless they're planning on expanding her character next episode, there's absolutely no point to it. Oh well, pretty much every tough opponent gets a flashback on this show but it's starting to get on my nerves x_x |

| Holy crap what a great episode ... it really moved me D: I agree kind of a stupid flashback with those camera guys ... I mean I guess it shows more of her character but still :S I wonder what's up with their coaches? Do they have a master plan?! I agree it's kind of silly to be looking to the finals already ... concentrate on the opponent at hand! D: I don't like her character much ... I mean that's just plain rude, and the "ditzy" type of character has never really appealed to me anyway >_< Everyone's trying to help Megumu to become Queen ... unfortunately, everyone else is trying to do the same! She seems to have improved a lot from last year though ... but GO CHIHAYA! Loved the moment with Kana reciting that poem ... and she's leading too! :D Woot, it's her time to shine! No idea about how the other matches are going, but am I the only one that's kind of hoping for a Hokuo rematch? :P Then again, seeing more of Fujisaki would be interesting too ... ahhh! Just realized we've still got the individuals up and we're already halfway through ... don't tell me the rest of the series is gonna only cover these two days?! O_O |
