| Both are do-able, let's get that out of the way. Robin's childhood history wasn't described to us until much later in the story. The mystery behind her incentives is what made her a great character, very independent. We knew full well when she joined the crew that she would play a major role down the line, and she eventually is the reason Luffy declares war on the World Government. Not to say Nami's childhood was any better, but I'm not going to compare tragic childhood tales. Nami's history was the first of many mysteries in One Piece, and it was her history that showed how dependable Luffy could be, as a captain. It also lead to Luffy's infamous status in East Blue. In all honesty, who can't love Robin over Nami? Histories aside, Robin has the muscle and the brains, Nami is a great navigator with the best rack on the show. Their personalities simply complement the rest of the crew's, so you can't have One Piece without both of them. Bottom line, Nami's great to look at, but I like Robin's character better. |

| Nico Robin is a great concept for a character, but at least at the point where I'm at the series, I feel that Nami is a more well-rounded and dynamic character. Her chemistry with the rest of the Straw Hats is fascinating, as well as this blend of blatant personality flaws and strong bonds with the rest of the crew, which as a whole make her absolutely lovely. Of course she is greedy, bossy and promiscuous. But damn, for some reason, that only makes her more likeable for me. Robin is mysterious, she is decidedly adult and has some darkness in her (not just because of her past but her personality, as said in other places she looks very sadistic for a character in her position), I am also enjoying her interactions with the rest of the crew a lot, but for me, simply, Nami is a character that I find easier to like/get attached to. |
| Robin. Nami can get a tad annoying at times, and she kinda overdoes the abuse on Sanji. D: She's a very persuasive lady who knows how to get what she wants and all (which can be a very attractive quality in a woman), but I don't think she holds a candle to Robin. Robin's intelligent, tactful in battle and sophisticated.. Excluding the time she Plus, her devil fruit is pretty damn cool. Both of them had sad backstories that I equally enjoyed. That sentence just made me sound like a sadist. Well.. I'm not going to compare who had it worse. But the backstories did provide a lot of character development and they helped us see what the two ladies were made of. Oh oh and, I love kid Robin's laugh. So much. |

| Robin, because of her kind personalty. Robin's backstory is also definitly better. Not saying Nami's isn't good but Robin's has way more effect on her character. She constantly has a grim and dark mindset about everything because of that, even her humor. Which is another reason I like her more than Nami. But you got to give Nami credit, without her the Strawhats would have sunk a long long time ago. |

| Robin and honestly can't even say why. Both are great characters and bring different dynamics to the crew. The day I pfigured out I preferred Robin to Nami was the episode the crew was all split up fighting the Paw Paw fruit guy. Nami hurt but I was crushed watching Robin get taken out. Light I shed a tear everytime I watch that episode at her part. Maybe her voice actor sold it better idk. |
