THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Scarlet Twin joined for the mission in an island. Party time. Younger twin doesn't like meat, and is arguing against tanned girl. The twins don't want to be familiar with them at all, though. Then they are wearing swimming suits the next day. Younger one doesn't want to be separated from older one, who ended up pairing with female instructor. OnoD's character came to the rescue when Old twin got sick (from the heat?) and they had to work together in the bad weather. She cares about the older twin, and wanted him to leave her alone and get her to warm place first while she rest from her tripped ankle. He came back to carry her, too. She refused to get on his back, so he carried her with ohimesama dakko. She got curious about his relation with the twin, which pissed him. The older twin, who woke up later, is curious about him. He went to check on the boat, which got missing. |

Yuuya was being a boss this episode. Seems like it is character/relationship building time for this episode and the next one. |

lol @ that awkward question ending, its funny how fast it went from a somewhat fan service ep to a serious one. It was nice to finally see Yui's dere side~ I guess Yuuya couldn't be any more lucky being stranded with most toughest tsun girls in the show. Looking forward to how he fairs with them next week xP |

^ Yuuya is a great protagonist so far he might have inner problems but that makes him human. As for the girls im really interested in Cryska. Because she has shown 0 interest in everyone besides the inia i dont know what she wants from yuuya but it probably has to do with Inia. Am i the only one wishing takeru would show up in there series? =) |

Fun in the sun huh? Well, there's still tension in the air with the twins...but one of them seems to be in trouble later on. Great to see the increasing bond between lieutenant Yui and Yuuya though. The mission is always what matters? Not always imo. |

It seems so awkward to have time for fun in the sun with a beach episode in a world that is being slowly taken over by extraterrestrials. Oh well it had some interesting moments with Yuuya. Blushing with Stella was kind of funny. The choice scenes of the girls in Volleyball felt really out of place. Second half of the episode wasnt that enjoyable Mainly because of extensive focus on Yui. Of the available females in the show I would prefer if either Cryska or better, Stella, ended up with him. Fortunately he doesnt seem to have feelings for anyone and maybe it will stay that way. Her inner turmoil was kind of boring as well. Im rather more interested in what Cryska is interested in in him, as well as how they will get off this island |

Blushing Yui is adorable :3 I wonder why Cryska is intrested in Yuuya. Is she personally interested in him or is it because of Inia? |

This episode was very sexually emphasized for its beach and swimsuits however it was very enticing and well done. So well that I shall use my brain to point out the qualities and great fine lines done. Showing once more Bds and other gimmicks were not needed to censor or show it’s already fine glory. Truly there was little quality drop and all the skin luster victory. About Inia, starting with Inia considering her fan service was great but most of all she has the less time among other characters in this episode. Inia was nice to say hello to Bridges in the spoiler Now I certainly HATED Tarisa for doing what she did to Inia in the spoiler Her skin tones along with the “Perfect Vase” shape are there. The fine lines are asymmetric to each other in a balanced way in terms of shining out her skin. Add to that the appealing of toned out ABS and you have a perfect example of girls made appealing and toned out. Perfected and I really wish more was a reality of it but alas perfection like that in girls is impossible. Hence why I think this series is doing stuff right in that sense. Inia’s part at the palm tree in the spoiler About the start, fan service and flow of the episode. This is more a first half impression. The start of the episode had it rather interesting in the spoiler Very nice display of behinds along with the vacation spot in the spoiler The party, was fine and dandy when you consider seeing a kick ass instructor and Stella in the spoiler Beach time, in the spoiler The second half, got me a little WTF for the sudden weather change TBH. It was rather sudden. However that lead to some nice fan service of Yui’s ass in the spoiler So it came that I was not surprised that Yui falls down in the spoiler along with the spoiler As things continue in the cave, I will admit ti was nice to see Cryska’s body in the spoiler About thee end of the episode, fascinating how Cryska interacts with Yui in the spoiler Something does bother me in the spoiler All the being said this episode really shows that the girl’s body are hot and enticing sexually more than loads of other series. Perhaps it may be better than Maken-Ki. Still Russian Girls »»»»»»»»»»>all other girls TBH. Pro Slavic/Russian here. BTW Some Image Stitches done in the spoiler among some delicious Stella/Cryska. |

BETAs are destroying the world but don't worry, our soliders are playing volleyball. Tarisa looks cute on that swimsuit and I lol'd seeing the hammer and sickle badge on Russian ones. But why aren't their swimsuits red? Even though the main question is why Inia isn't a DFC but whatever. |

Cryska in a bikini = THE PRIDE OF MOTHER RUSSIA! This was a good character development episode. Some obligatory fan service but you get that with every beach episode. I am interested in where they take this Yuuya/Yui/Cryska situation. Hopefully it goes somewhere. |

Yui was less annoying in this episode. Anyway, Cryska is probably interested in Yuuya due of Inia, unless it will turn into a harem. |

Well if you take a look into preview Cryska seem to be interesting in Yuuya, well we could also kind of figure out they build up a episode like this to build up they relationships. You normal get embarassed Yui is a girl as well, she can fall in love, adding a little romance is not that bad. :) These are main characters that are on the picture. :) |

I got to say that it was refreshing to see Yuis 'dere side and Yuuya not being such an ass, but I think this attitude change was too drastic from last episode. Not course I don't know much time has passed in show from the last episode to this. Maybe someone can clear this up me. |

Assuming that Yui's reaction too Cryska asking about Yuuya is a misunderstanding it'll be interesting to see what exactly she wants to know. |

Yui went from tsun to dere in one episode. It surprised me how quick it was. I just want to let everyone know, I totally called this. But unexpectedly, Cryska looks like she's interested in Yuuya. Sounds like a love triangle is forming. This episode reminded me how fine the women are in this show. Hell, I'd be trying to make a harem. Stella was crazy hot in this one. |

Posse said: The first 2 episodes definitely tricked me, I'm really dissapointed so far. This episode might have just pushed me to drop this series. With a beach episode, Total Eclipse tries to increase character development and relations. Instead, we have a forced ragged sequence that pushes the series into Harem/Angst territory. Inia just has to be a crybaby. Cryska just has to fall unconscious on a boat ride. Yuuya suddenly becomes a hero trying to swim out to Yui to check on her problems, while he hates her with his guts. And a storm conveniently pops up, pushing just the three to a deserted island instead of their base. Yui has a split personality and Yuuya builds even more angst. The only slightly interesting section is Yui's nightmare about leaving Cryska out to die. If not for the first two episodes, this series is a waste of time. |

I can tell the director was really stressed. He didn't wrap up "episode 5" nicely before moving on to "episode 6". As much as many of us were annoyed and debated about the nationalist issues in episodes 4 & 5, this episode was like a timeskip. The only link they gave back to was Yui thinking about her finally getting Yuuya to adapt to the Shiranui, but broke pretty much the morale of every other Argos Flight member. Not much of a resolving point, I'd say. If you asked me, there should have been another episode truly resolving Yuuya's issues with the 94-Second. One swordfight and a Yamato-Damashii moment felt too rushed. Yui probably stopped bitching because Yuuya finally stopped complaining about Japanese TSFs being junk. The continuity gap annoys me, its like I suddenly lost track of who Yuuya and Yui are. So here I am, having to fill it up with my own thoughts, because we all know they won't. Now I'm done with my complaining, its to the actual episode. For a TSF exercise on a tropical island, I certainly don't see the TSFs themselves doing anything. I'll write it off since its a fanservice episode, but it would be good to have a scene showing exactly what WORK they did when they were there (Come on, they transferred the TSFs over to the island, for goodness sake). But the nagging feeling tells me they will forget about it after the end of this arc and just shift back to Yukon Base. Fanservice episode is fanservice, and its definitely top-notch quality when it comes to the animation. No point describing in detail the fanservice (Go watch it again by yourselves), since there's very little, if any, to say and debate about. VG peeping and Yuuya being your "heroic man that refuses to do so" really reminds me of other anime. Really hammered in the point that this is an ANIME (referring to Japan-animated), I mean VG's acting like the typical perv in other anime (which, by association, are Japanese, although it is true pervs are everywhere). I'm sure Stella was the one who caught and owned VG though. Its the anime's VG-Stella pairing vibe they love giving off (Because Yuuya will be too busy with Yui and Cryska to bother about Stella). The Inia-Tarisa scene. Never really liked Tarisa, this is just further reinforcement. But as much as I pity Inia, her suddenly talking like Cryska (We're here because of orders) sounds awkward, because its usually Cryska that does the arguements. But shows that they're alike... like twins. Then your typical games. I couldn't stop laughing at Inia hugging the tree. It hit me that Cryska and Yui are pretty similar in terms of "maternal instinct" when they volunteered to replace Inia (Although for Cryska, it was only for Inia, and I already saw Yui's tough maternal instinct for Yuuya in the previous episodes). Then the set-up... blahblahblah... conveniently, the rain was summoned and blah blah blah.... Then we get to character development half of the episode. Fanservice is still there in the glorious form of Yui and Cryska, but with all the sudden seriousness, it becomes a bit mellowed out. It was fun seeing Yui changing Tsun to Dere during the sprained ankle portion. Its great to see Yuuya being the manly hero who changes Yui to her Dere side. (For the record, I don't dislike Yuuya, even if I was arguing for Yui in episodes 4 & 5, his character is great, I just hated his hatred for the Japanese ruining his professionalism and turning him into a douche bitch in those episodes.) And even when Yui turned into a Dere, she didn't completely turned into a love-bound mush. She retains her strong-headness, her commanding authority, her respect and dignity. Yuuya cracked her outer shell and its obvious they both know about it. Hell, they're so similar, they make a great couple. Too bad Cryska now threatens the balance. (But hey, its Muv-Luv after all.) I'll consider this a fanservice episode and rate it according to simply fanservice levels, which they did fantastically. So a 5/5. But in reality, they jumped the shark from episode 5 to 6, and then character development part makes the episode felt disorientated somewhat (Its like a half-baked attempt to do a fanservice episode or a character development episode), so when rated in a normal episode, it gets only a 3/5. At least there was plenty of Cryska, even if she was unconscious for half the episode. |

Boobs and some character development. That was basically this episode in a nutshell. It was an alright episode even if it wasn't entirely necessary. Anyway, now that they have lost their boat, here are some potential avenues for the show to explore next week: 1. Yuuya, Cryska, and Yui discover and explore an abandoned DHARMA Initiative base 2. A volleyball washes ashore and is befriend by Yuuya, Cryska, and Yui. Sadly, they are separated from their newest companion as they attempt to leave the island. |

AnimeKami said: so cliche that it's good Yup. Everything about this episode pretty much screamed cliche--what with the whole beach, tits, stranding and tits scenario; however, I suppose that's why the writers decided to incorporate it. People enjoy these developments; we're so accustomed to them that they have practically established themselves as a norm in the continuity of any anime. Though, it would've been nice to address the events of the previous episode more thoroughly; it could have brought more closure. |

This was a decent episode. I don't hate Yuuya so much now, but at the same time it's pretty lame that a man has to come and save the two helpless little girls...Yui and Cryska would make much better strong, female leads than simply being part of Yuuya's developing harem. I don't really understand Yui's behaviour, it seems rather sudden and out of character. The one I do hate is the obnoxious little monkey girl (Tarisa). Overall, some character development was good, although I don't think it was terribly believable. Also, a complete lack of urgency and danger regarding the BETA is kind of strange. No one even seems to care about them anymore. Clearly going on a beach holiday is more important than saving the human race. |

Yui was much less of a bitch, and as expected, turns out liking the guy now. As a Yuuya fan, this new triangle surrounding him is nice. But this episode proves a lot of my points from last week. Yui was stubborn, more than she needed to be but she realized this and even stated she should have went about it another way. Yuuya can be stubborn to, but still has a honorable side to him. And I LOVED how he was mature and said they should stop arguing and work together, that pretty much made Yui a horny chaser for him now So all in all, for Yuuya fans, this episode was good, for Yui fans, they hated it. :P |

But seeing as things seems to be going, i feel like it will be Yuuya X Yui ending (if they decide to ship), too bad, that would be too cliched then T_T . As for the fan service , it was at a decent level . I don't dislike yui but I was disappointed by her weak behaviour in this episode . |

What annoyed me was the 180 degree sudden change in Yuuya and Yui's attitudes. Just an episode ago both of them were bitching about Japanese TSFs and philosophy. Then we had a mecha fight and it just ended like that. Sure, Yuuya finally understood what Yui was trying to drill into him, and Yui was satisfied Yuuya got the theory, but that was no scene showing this resolvation (at least, not clearly) before we jumped into this episode. And Yui was only bitching at Yuuya because Yuuya was bitching about the Japanese TSFs. And while she did betlittle Yuuya at the beginning, the previous episode resolved that when she recognised Yuuya's potential as an Eishi. What puzzled me was did Yuuya get over his Japanese hatred just with that swordfight? Did awakening his Yamato Damashii absolved that hatred? His contempt for Yui (and the Japanese) was so obviously shown when Yui first arrived at Yukon, and now it suddenly disappears, so it makes little sense he just lost it like that. Or maybe he matured after he realised he was a pampered baby compared to everyone else who fought on the front lines before and got his priorities right as of this episode. That's good for him (and me, so I don't have to go disliking him anymore.) Yui was always stubborn, this episode shows her transition from Tsun to Dere. But Yuuya's sudden loss of stubbornness is startling (and no one here can deny both of them are stubborn.) |
