Hahaha I knew Kimura was going to get a new move from his fish XD Anyway that was such an exciting match and Kimura was very impressive. It's great to see that he will continue boxing as well (although I figured that would happen). |

That was an amazing OVA! :D Kimura is the man, he stood up and made Mashiba shit his pants for a minute there! Good thing he decided to return to the gym. Cant wait to see New Challenger! xD |

Nice. Mashiba was pressured like he's never been before. Only Miyata and Ippo have came close to scaring him like that. I like Kimura, I'm glad he continued boxing. |

One of the best fights in the series even it doesn't depict the main character.. Kimura though is one of the best well rounded supporting characters ever! I was so into it that I really didn't know who will win. It was great to see Miyata again.. but Kimura could of gotten some better tips from Ippo who actually defeated Mashiba. It was kinda weird that coach Kamogawa didn't work with Kimura.. even in the seconds' corner there was little dialogue haha During the fight.. Kimura was starting to look like Ippos' kinda fight.. alas the in-fighter style and constant liver blows and dragon fish which looks like the Gazelle punch! :-D At the end where Kimura finally lost consciousness really looked similar to Sendo losing consciousness.. which shows a high possibility that there will be a rematch in the future! hehe The retirement part also worried me.. Its good that Kimura didn't LOL Great OVA! (+) Oh did anyone also noticed that Miyata and Kimura closely resemble each other haha it was hard to distinguish each one from another during their sparring LOL |

I was really mad that he didn't retire. Sort of ruined the emotion of the rest of the episode. |

Damn I just love the way Mashiba fights in this, very clever.. I really felt sorry for his past so obviously I was cheering for the dude to WIN. Way to go! 8/10 on this again. Brilliant. Great to hear ED song 1 from the original series again. :3 Good effort though Kimura. |

Too bad that Kimura didn't win =/ - Maybe he'll be able to climb up to Rank #1 in Junior Lightweight with his new training and re-challenge Mashiba in the future. Speaking of Mashiba, I wonder if this experience will change him for the better...who knows, anything is possible. Pretty good OVA. |

That was a fucking awesome fight. Kimura really gave all he got. Those final punches were really great, to see Mashiba scared like that... |

honestly this was my favorite fight in the series so far, there was more uncertainty to the outcome than with ippo's fights and the outcome did actually end in the most downer of endings, it developed kimura as a character fantastically and was packed full of emotion 8/10, enjoyed it more than championship road |
Immahnoob said: Jizzy, I know you have no idea how to argue for shit, tokiyashiro said: Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me |

One of my favorite fights.. but not because of just how awesome it was, also because I really like Kimura as a character and I love his motivaition. I was seriously saddened when I thought he was actually retiring, but smiled big when he had a change of mind. Very emotional OVA, I liked this more than Champion Road. |

I was really on edge, as much as I love Kimura I couldn't see him winning. In fact, I would be disappointed if he won. I loved this OVA more than I thought I would because Kimura really did an awesome job and the result was fair. Mashiba technically won, but he was not satisfied. I can't find an end that could be better than this. |

Really awesome battle between Kimura and Mashiba. I'm glad Kimura didn't stay retired for real, would have been really sad if that were to happen. |

I think Kumera has a lot to offer the series so I was a bit sad at hearing he was gonna retire. But then he just took it back, which really upset me. What was the point of this ova? I didn't feel that much excitement about the match because he hasn't developed individually as a character up to this point. The only thing that I cared to see was if he would really retire and the impact that would have. But it's as if this ova was just filler. And it didn't even involve a character I liked... |

Damn, any time Mashiba fights we get some of the best anime fights in history. It's funny how any time a serious fight happens that doesn't involve Ippo it's always godly amazing. Miyata's fight against Mashiba, and this were both the best fights in the series by far. Ippo's fights just get repetitive after a while. All the shit with Kimura's dad and his situation as a whole was really well done, although I'm not sure how I feel about him not retiring. On the one hand I love the guy and obviously want to keep watching him in the series, but it also kind of took away the emotional impact. Also, that goofy shit at the end completely ruined a lot of Kimura's character development as a whole. I mean, i knew he wouldn't stay retired, and the gym goofiness is the charm of the show, but that happened way too fucking quickly. All in all though, it was still probably the highest point of the series for me Now we just need Aoki and Takamura to get a serious, 30+ minute long fight. |

This was a good OVA! Happy that Kimura had a title match for him, and it was nice to see Mashiba again. The fight was well-done and Kimura did a really good job in that match (Though I wanted Mashiba to win so badly...And got said wish.) In the end I knew Kimura wasn't going to quit boxing. Side Note: Will they ever make an anime on Mashiba's world match? (If he has one...) |

I really do like how all of the fights in this anime aren't completely predictable. I could easily see Mashiba losing, but being offered a fight regardless due to his tenacity and obsession with winning, even if he did lose the title. I could have also seen Mashiba winning but being refused the fight due to it not being a swift victory. I like that there are many options to the outcome, and it isn't just black and white. I also love how this show makes you sympathize and understand all the fighters besides the person you're "supposed" to root for. |
