So a new episode comes out every Sunday? Awesome. Well I just watched it, now that the colony is destroyed I guess they are gonna take them to the nearest military base. I've had a suspicion that the "aliens" are actually just some group of humans with a similar history as the ones (spoiler is about Martian Successor Nadesico)
. I'm betting that the guy who wakes up at the end is one of the "alien" pilots.

The old Commander's suicidal attack at the end was really impulsive, and there was so much blood. I've never expected to see blood in this.
But, I can't take that orange headed guy seriously :/

In next episode is Ono Daisuke's turn, I can't wait :D

Fritters is already getting flags from Yurin. I don't think there's been a Gundam protagonist that's been quite that successful with women before.

Damn this episode was..wow. Reminds me of the coup d'etat/hijacking from Gundam 00 s2.

Bruzar, you sacrifice wasn't in vain! Can't believe there was actually blood here...

Also. Yurin > Emily, unless Emily does something besides standing around and doing nothing.

Next episode, white wolf = Daisuke Ono?? Finally a great VA joins this series!

Now I'm an even bigger FlitxYurin fan than before. They are so great together.

Emily should just stay in the kitchen where she belongs.

Episode was actually pretty good to my surprise. Bruzar's death was pretty awesome.

Meh...3eps for pulling out some stupi.d core?
Shame, that this old guy died. To make this scene more dramatic, gundam should fly and try to rescue him, effortlessly:P

Anyway ep4 here we go( I hope that, it won't be only about white wolf guy...

btw. ''Flit was spared? I don't understand what he meant''
Ep1. - mS did not kill him, to put it simple.

It was far less interesting than the first two episodes but at the same time showed quite a bit of promise. Not that many developments though (usually the big problem with action-packed episodes : nothing happens except for fights).

You're joking right ? From the premise, it's obvious that the series will have more mature themes than 00 (never judge a book by its cover, much ?), loads of violence and we may even see children dying considering there are quite a lot among the main characters. Pretty much like Victory.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

Not really. It reminds me of old kids shows with transforming robots like GaoGaiGar. It has everything. Kids, short, fat, weird, genius scientist, short, fat sidekick, heroine, mysterious girl, ridiculous, incoherent plot, deus ex machina, pilot guy with strange hair and glasses. Oh yeah, glasses. And aliens. And many, many more. So yeah, I would never expect too much violence and blood from a kids show.

Pretty sure it won't be more mature than 00. There's not even a hint of political manipulation in this one yet, character design despite the age old proverb still stands to be too childish in comparison.

This was a very solid episode and the show continues to rise for me with each passing episode. From the impact of Yurin in the episode, i think she's a pretty good draw from what we've seen of her with Flit thus far. Bruzar making the choice he made for the sake of the colony knowing he was about to die. And then the realization of what has happened hitting home to the people of Nora towards the end was done well. I think this is the first time ive been actually interested in the UE, especially after their actions this episode. The animations this episode i thought were good in spots too and i continue to love the character models.

Overall: 8/10 in based on a 10pt scale but im a vote for a 4/5 on here. I don't like the "OK" feature for 3 on this site.lol.

Im loving this... The soundtrack is just amazing and suggests a much darker Gundam than anyone was expecting... Im also intrigued by the "100 year war" comment, I thought the AGE part of Gundam was only about the Gundam itself evolving, but now Im suspecting we might get to see a large timespan throughout the series, which would explain the main character starting out as a kid

Not bad, wasnt expecting for that old man to die let alone bleed. Make me wonder who that "white wolf" is. Perhaps a clone? Maybe he's the Char of the series. At any rate seems pretty interesting.

So Flit and Yurin are Newtypes???

The series is going to skip generations twice, the second main character being Flit's son and the third being his grandson.

I wish people would give the new gundam series a chance. Only ~4k people are watching it on MAL and it's score is so low.. less than 7. =(

Agreed, but hey its their loss not ours and people will go back and watch it after scanning through the forums and looking at the stats. I don't go by reviews, but instead I go by stats if the series has more 7~10s than 1~6s I'll watch it cause chances are it might be good. I'm not saying some series would be like Lucky Star for example I hated it, but thought I'd try it out anyways since it had good stats. I guess it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Well anyways another awesome episode. I knew the commander was going to die from the last episode, but I wasn't expecting THAT much blood to be honest and I really liked the moments that Flit and Yurin shared.

All the bandwagon haters don't know what they're missing!

Yurin is awesome, but I can agree. I'm pretty sure she'll be dying.
The "fade-away" seemed like it was foreshadowing it.

Bruzar's death was epic.
The flashbacks and lead up were perfectly executed, I actually almost started to tear up.

8/10 so far.

I was expecting a childish mecha show, but it surprised me. I'm getting into the show already. I didn't see any prequels of Gundam, but in my perspective, this is going into a good direction, at least for now.

Old man FTFW. Why is he not the pilot of the Gundam other than the fact that he's old and doesn't have plot armor? Christ, put that man in the Gundam and it'd only be a 6 episode OVA.

LOL yeah a lot of the ratings kinda don't make since. Like Fine and average is 5 and 6 out of 10? XD

Actually, 5 makes sense as 'average', it is just that our own personal rating system is flawed and to make it more objective would require too much work. If everybody judged each rating of a series relative to other anime they've watched then it'd make more sense. For example, a 1/10 would denote that that show was part of the lowest percentile of shows (the lowest 10%).

So assuming that a person rated 10 shows, the lowest show being rated 5, highest 10 , the 5 would be converted into a 1/10 because it is the lowest score relative to all the other scores. And if he watched another show and rated it 4, then that show would be rated as 1/10 and the previous show that got a 5, would be pushed up to 2/10.

Haters gonna hate regardless.

9/10 for the series so far.

Why do I keep feeling Gundam AGE will pull a Kemono no Souja Erin on you haters? Remember how it was rated 6.5 after episode 5? Look where it has ended up. Yep, it was your another true kids's show :D

I am impressed with the animation and the background scores. Fucking amazing. The only other show right this moment that has maintained a solid start is probably Fate/Zero.

edit: expect timeskip. 8)

^Except that we already know that there will be a timeskip since the narrator keeps saying it will go for 100 years. Flit will definitely pass the Gundam to his descendants, the ones listed here on MAL.
So I'm expecting some heavy stuff for the future as this death seems just like the beginning of things.

That breaks gundam plot status quo! how is elizabeth supposed to compete with tifa? and while we're on that note, really? they literally just rehashed tifa's character. inb4 she turns out to be one of them. princess tfia.

I thought the episode was overall good, other than me getting annoyed at certain things, but good nonetheless. The following is just me bantering.

I am completely an Emily x Flit shipper, since I saw them. I don't want girls popping out of nowhere becoming a love interest for Flit. I hate it even more that they made Yurin look more helpful than Emily, which makes it seem like Emily hasn't done anything worthwhile. That said, I really hope she does turn out to be more useful, b/c I really do like her, especially with Flit. Its only three episodes so far, so here's hoping, she's not the damsel in distress/stand by type character. I mean living her hair thingy and stuff, I was just like... Oh come on! He already has someone go away. I really got annoyed. If I look at it from another point view, Yurin was helpful, so I'll give her that much credit. As long as she doesn't bother those two, I will like her, cause she was pretty cool with those powers and all.

Emily hasn't really done anything worthwhile and is just taking up space though. The below quote puts it the best.

Yurin has good plot relevance and interest, better characterization, and is level-headed plus feminine. Yurin is just the better character and love interest overall.

"I didn't think the chief would actually die..."

If you thought that for real, choke yourself. Did people REALLY believe this would be a light-hearted Gundam series because of the art? The premise told me all I needed to know. A one-hundred year war against an enemy.

If you really thought the series would be light, go back and watch AGE's opening scene. Despite his mother and his home being brutally destroyed by the UE, realize that at the end of things, he STILL fails to actually avenge them by winning the war. It's something he'll have to pass on to his son. Who ALSO won't get the job done. And thus it'll be passed to Flit's grandson. 100 year enmities are not the stuff of Saturday Morning Cartoon shows. (Unless you're talking about Transformers, lol.)
