This chapter was nice, [spoiler] the spread was really nice & phos’ realization/reflection of her wish after everything that’s happened was heartbreaking. [spoiler] It’s been awhile for me but i’d say it’s time for a reread! How’s everyone feeling about this chapter?

Fantastic Chapter once again, this made a lot of things in the past chapters more easy to understand. I have my suspicions that this egg rock thing is actually a reincarnation, or something similar, if the professor. I still wonder what happened to her lab assistants and how Enma/Kongou know of each other. Perhaps Enma was also a researcher before he died.

The fully-black panels paralleling Phos' first interaction with Morganite and Goshenite in Chapter 1 made me have the best "wait a minute" realization I had when re-thinking about a chapter in Manga. It's so... needlessly... painful.

Our little, lost God found solace from an insignificant pebble that cannot feel nor see. And yet, the pebble's words are just enough to decompartmentalize centuries upon centuries of aimless, hateful suffering the regretful God has gone through. All of it collpases into itself in a view of the night that fills the lonely God's world with just the tiniest bit of wonder. Even a pebble cast in the middle of a lake creates ripples that eventually reaches the shore. Houseki no Kuni is just... wonderful.

Most overrated manga of all time. 40 chapters of learning shit the reader already knows with pointless fights where nothing happens. Tons of characters and questions just swept aside and never answered. This manga is a 2/10 at most. Only quote worth saving from this godforsaken manga is sensei saying this: "Tolerance and equality. Those were held up as ideals in ancient times, but they never lasted long." Thoroughly disappointed.

Nice chapter especially phos's wish and self-acceptance that is realized by just talking to a stone signifying that everyone, no matter how small he is, or how useless he may think of himself, everyone is important to/in this world

But also I wonder what the black panels meant!!? It got me so confused😭
I mean my 1st interpretation is that Phos was melting or something and then it fell in deep sleep for centuries. but it doesnt need all these panels and in that specific pattern to say that😭

i think it's a callback to the very first panels of the first chapter, where phos seemingly awakes from a deep, void-like slumber to the taunts of their fellow gems, asking that they go to the gems' aid.

The blacked out chapters are a callback to chapter 1, but since everyone else is gone, and Phos has lost all her memories, its all just black now. Just painful.

I have no words, actually I spent the last two days thinking about it, in the end all of my theories were busted which is good, all disappeared and Phos found that rock being who was very happy with being a rock.
from the rock's pov the rock was perfect but from phos's pov it wasn't, then phos realized her existence
anyways, few more chapters till 108 I guess, I can't even imagine what can still happen

i think it is interesting how our new pebble friend that shows the most kindness to Phos feels no need to change their current form to be like the lustrous we have seen in the series. They feel no need to have a body or face.
It makes me think about all the other lustrous we saw. How they were all shaped and formed with no sort of choice in the matter. how they all seemed desperate to find a job and provide to their little society. how quickly they assimilated into lunarian society once given new tasks/desires. and how little compassion they had for phos in the end.
It feels as though when you do not have to change in order to provide the most, you are able to connect to your peers more. if that makes sense?

Finished the anime with friends, and we all binged the manga this last week. Completed the whole manga in 2 days. We all knew that it got 'grim,' but none of us were expecting it to snowball as much as it did. All of us are still processing what went down, and I'm pretty interested to see what turns out in the end. Given that, at this point, everyone has gotten closure but Phos and a pebble.
