That pork cutlet looks great and characters of any age can enjoy food, no matter how old they are. Seem this episode served as a celebration of culinary art as they managed to gather characters of all races, regions, etc. Very happy to see most of the cast back one last time and rather than just serving one special type of meal, they got a whole buffet of them. Wonderful season again! |

Ooh wow, Western Restaurant Nekoya is turned into a wedding banquet. There's a lot to do for the sequel's final episode! The very first patron, magician and sage Altorius is back from exactly where we last met him in Season 1's final episode, now with his grandmother Koyomi (whom I believe that we're seeing her for the very first time). Her backstory was such a bittersweet one of how the hero Yatagama Daiki and her (as the heroine Yomi) got married and opened Nekoya in hopes that people would try out the long lost Eastern cuisine in Another World, and the rest is history with their child taking up the reins. Aletta was quite surprised though because she didn't really know. The master key which depicts the fate of Nekoya between both worlds, to sever the two worlds is to break the Key and seal it forever...though Master won't ever do that to preserve the friendship already made, and the promise from his grandfather Daiki. The final dish of the day: the post-wedding buffet of Prince Shareef and Princess Adelheid in Nekoya. It's all assorted food, though the respective characters do get their food fix. Hah, Shareef almost got a scare of the customary fix of slicing the wedding cake there...phew. And Heinrich REALLY made a scene to propose to Sarah right then and there, have some tact, nobleman. Pretty funny that Aletta would butt in to protect Sarah. When it all comes down to it, the sequel really flew by so fast, yet so slow, for another experience of Isekai Shokudou. The final 2 episodes really made the sequel stand out...only a teeny bit. Kinda of an episodic adventure of decency. |

Blah. I didn't like these two last episodes at all. Overall, a pretty weak season imo. I think the first season was better and more charming. Smiling Kuro was adorable, though. :) She and Aletta are such a likable characters. |

Honestly cannot believe it's already come and gone just like that. It's been enjoyable from start to finish, and has been a highlight of Fridays for me. Watching this when it was airing, instead of all in one go was quite different, but it certainly didn't remove any enjoyment from it. While sure, the story element of season one wasn't as high in this one, but it was very enjoyable. |

As I realized this was ending today I was feeling a bit nostalgic last night and decided to lookup my thoughts on the first season. Here's what I wrote back on Dec. 8, 2017, just over 4 years ago now, when I finished that season: animefan8800 said: Another surprisingly easy to marathon series, and this one was pretty great. A very comforting, relaxing series with fun stories and endearing characters. It felt a little like a mix between an anthology series like The Twilight Zone and a sitcom like Cheers. Every character got a little introduction story so most episodes felt different and new in that regard, but at the same time they usually became regulars afterward thus something like Cheers where everybody knew your name. I also got a little feeling of Shirokuma Cafe from it too, which I mean as a compliment. The food was always delicious looking, and watching the patrons enjoy it never got tiring. Honestly I wish we'd gotten another dozen episodes with these characters. Some other interesting interactions could have come of it no doubt, like that half-elf hero meeting up with the lion dude again. Honestly I was hoping that was gonna happen during the last episode. I don't have much else to say but I really enjoyed this series. Solid 8/10. Oh, and that opening theme was really catchy! :D And honestly, my thoughts regarding this second season are more or less the same. I'm very pleased my request for 12 more episodes came true and honestly I'd take another 12 if we ever got them, though with the Nekoya backstory and the wedding party featuring much of the cast this episode certainly had an air of finality to it. It's tough to say which batch of episodes I preferred. I'd probably have to watch all 24 back to back to decide for sure, but honestly this second season did a fine job of feeling like an extension of the first. By which I mean if a few years from now, or if I were a completely new viewer to the franchise without any prior knowledge, I'd believe you if you sat me down and told me this series was just 1, 24 episode long show that aired all this year. Another solid 8/10. :) |

Let's call it a hunch, I saw it coming that someone would propose to Minced Meat Cutlet. Mont Blanc was trying to cheer Fried Shrimp up, even tho he's prolly the one who's cockblocking him. Episode 5 of this season fueled my head canon. Neat finale. Also liked the grandma nostalgia trip at the beginning 6,5/10 |

It's nice to see the backstory for the master ! "Pizza is such a profound dish" I disagree Well we got people trying new foods for once. I'm surprised this got a second season. It was right at the time before its announcement that I was getting back to season 1 to finish it after all these years. So it was coincidental that I stumbled upon this right at the same time I watched season 1. |

Very few sequels manage to be actually better than the original, and Isekai Shokudou truly managed splendid in my books. I disliked several elements in the first season, like some characters were just downright annoying and their backstories were just unninteresting (I'm looking at you Ebifry & Katsudon lion). Season 2 fixed some of my major gripes from before, like the lack of interaction between customers and also them trying something new every once in a while. The background stories of all the newcomers were all very intereresting or at the very least entertaining. I loved the 3 beastgirls and specially the vampires. The branch out of the Knight Sauce that started it all in season 1, connecting Aletta and the master, passed down thru the halflings and the pizza guys was a nice touch as continuity. Last but not least, the finale was simply great. I'm a sucker for anime weddings and even if we didn't get to see the actual ceremony, the afterparty was quite enjoyable (wich is a huge plus compared to the finale from season 1 that had a huge chunk of just non stop talking) This was an easy 9/10 for me, and I'm hopeful there might be more Isekai Shokudou in a near future. |

Grinning Kuro is such an odd sight. It really caught me off guard, not gonna lie. Overall, pretty solid way to conclude this season. Not to mention this was probably my favorite episode in the entire series. Really liked the segment with Tenshu's grandma as well as the nostalgic flashback in that regard. As for the season as a whole, it was all pretty much the same as in the first season. Same formula with each new costumer overexplaining the ingredients of the respective meal they get as well as a rather superficial exploration of the lore but with the strong point still being the highly detailed food and character designs. Regarding that, I gotta give huge props to OLM for keeping the same level of quality despite the change of studios. 6/10 |

I'm really happy that the restaurant isn't closed <3 and it's really funny to see Aletta praying in a hurry so she can try the wedding cake xD I didn't think that the Minced Meat Cutlet would be proposed by Ebi Fry.. but unfortunately he was rejected LOL XD So sad it's over.. hope there's a season 3, I really enjoyed it. |

Was nice to see the Master's Grandmother and she gave him the key to end it all, to close up Nekoya forever but he won't do it! So it wasn't the wedding ceremony but the after party in Nekoya! Was great to seeing everyone in the same room and they do see that some weddings trigger new proposals and I loved the one that happened, very awkwardly. Poor dude got denied, with or without Aletta's meddling XD I am gonna miss this show (again), what I am not going to miss is the longing for insanely good looking dishes it gave me. 8/10, just like the first season |

Master's grandmother was a nice addition to this episode, as it gave us more insight in how she married the master's grandfather. Not just that, but she herald from the fantasy world, hence why she knows the sage really well. She gave her grandson the key which, if he broke it, would permanently breaks the connection between both worlds, but thankfully he vowed to continue the business as is. The buffet segment was a great way to wrap up season two overall. A nice mixture of yummy dishes along with the colossal wedding cake for our newlyweds. I do feel a bit sorry for Heinrich, as his proposal to Sarah got him not only shut down by Aletta, but also Sarah herself. He got rejected hard, but I hope he doesn't give up in trying, though! =) Plus, the smile that both Aletta and Kuro gave to master at the end was precious! ^_^ Overall, I'll give season two the same score I gave to season one, an 8/10. OLM did a solid job in taking over the production and the visuals and animation stayed consistently good. I'll miss this series once more and the ideas it gave me for dinner! XD |

Honestly the last two episodes for me were very up and down, mostly down. It is too bad I thought this season seemed like it was going to be better than the first one but the last two episodes spoiled it for me. Personally the wedding of the Empire princess and the Prince of the Sand I think it was was very forced into it, the couple that should have happened got rejected. Honestly think they should have left the romance out in general seeing as the writer/writers do not seem to be skilled at it in the anime. If season 3 were to come out I would hope they skip on the forced romance but I do not know if I would watch a season 3 after how boring the last 2 episodes were for me. |

I was really hoping that the Red Dragon Queen would make an appearance since something like this would catch her attention. She could've showed up during the proposal of the prince in order to ascertain his intentions because she doesn't want anyone messing with her treasures. After a tense moment and seeing his resolve she gives him her blessing and would permit the union. Also; she was the first customer to be featured in the series so would be fitting if she was the last one to show up. |

I like this better than previous season, mostly because the guests now interacted more with each other. I already saw the princess and sand prince became couple but I did not see it would became wedding lol. Also I'm surprised about the shrimp guy had feeling with katsu woman, did not see that at all! I still want to know how the grandma made the otherworld portal, seems like she's more like fighter type than magician type. I hope they will make another season. |

I'm going to miss this show. It was just the right mix of fantasy and food porn. I think I would have liked to see more the other 6 days of the week, with how it normally is...Because we know absolutely nothing about the master, except that he's a very dandy-looking good chef. How old is he, what happened to his parents, are they even still alive, is he married, does he have kids, is there something between him and Red Dragon Queen...so on and so forth. It was nice to see his grandmother though, even if they didn't show flashbacks of her being a badass in the other world before getting isekai'd into our world. Better luck next time, Mr. Fried Shrimp--oh wait, this is the last episode. It's finally over...the anime made a ton of changes here and there from the manga, Neither is better than the other, and I liked them both for how special they were in their own way with said differences. |

I did not expect the Grandma to actually be from the fantasy world that ended up marrying and living in "our" world... and the key to the door is literally a "KEY", lol What's even more interesting is, the Grandma apparently knows all about the fantasy world's things... such as Kuro... no one else from the fantasy world knows her true identity, yet the Grandma that has been living in "our" world for decades that hasn't been back to the fantasy world for years knows... especially since Kuro never arrived at Nekoya til Master took over after Daiki died. ___ ___ ___ Also, Kuro and Aletta is so cute in this episode. Nice to see Kuro smile so much here. (TBH, best maid/ waitress of this series) And Aletta praying so fast so she can eat the cake, LOL. And then Aletta barge into the confession and said Sarah-san is hers, LUUUUL Poor dude, he got rejected. (tho not perma, since it also look like Sarah is going to give him a chance) ___ ___ ___ And Aletta said what I also noticed in past 3 episodes, "our" Food brings together everyone in the fantasy world. |

We get to see Yomi the hero enjoying her food and criticizing the restaurant with a bit of background story to finally make a story development. Sadly, we didn't get to see any of Yomi's explanation of her true origin to her grandson. It would make the story iffy. I guess we got a more or less good ending for this season. |
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

Ohh that's interesting to see the grandma, and of course the wedding part is one of the best, poor guy got rejected because he wanted to profit from this situation to do a propose as well XD anyway the last two eps have been pretty good but overall I found it too repetitive, I mean this concept only works during one cour for me, not more, but fortunately this season got a better production thanks to OLM |

Aletta is always such a sunshine. I really enjoyed this season but less for the food, most was not my thing :D The sweet cozy atmosphere is great and the ED was the cutest song ever, performed by Touyama, Nao. This anime basically has no story, but it's really charming with the episodic sol moments in the fantasy world. I liked the fantasy creatures, the human plebians rather not, they wanted to copy the recipes to make money lol. What was better in this season were the character interaction, we even got a marriage. I would still like to know more about the Nekoya staff. I liked one of the earlier episodes the most where it showed Aletta living with Sara. |

I don't know what it is about Isekai Shokudou but I'm fairly confident I could go for a couple hundred episode straight and not get board. That's not to say it's unpredictable or exciting but it just finds a way to make repetitive and predictable elements charming and agreeable. This season mixes new and old elements just right as if it was an variation of one of the shows many delectable dishes. |

Sincerely, these last 2 episodes decreased my enjoyment >.< This marriage / proposal did not please me much. It had an opposite effect on me. Okay, the prince had feelings for the princess of the empire, but we did not see any romantic interest from her part, and she suddenly accepted that proposal as if she was deeply in love was forced / rushed. Okay, just saying but like lol the whole marriage thing, while I saw it was kinda going that route, was just kinda... silly, but hey. I'm pretty wary about marriage though, so I'm admittedly coming in biased. As long as their happy I guess... just seems a little... flat. And THEN there was that last proposal. Like... nooooo. I was glad that she was like, "Naaah", but phew. He came up all aggressively and stuff too. Rude. lol Overall, I did like this season. Lots of nice food. I watched a lot of the episodes while hungry today and ended up getting up while complaining, "I'm hungrrryy," so I guess it did its job, ha hah! Ya know who I missed though? Simply put, it wasn't as good as the first season but these last two episode certainly made brought the season to a good end. It was starting to get a little stale but the marriage proposal out of the blue certainly added a new flair to things which was nice to have. Starting the episode off with the master's Grandmother was pretty cool. Getting isekai'd to Japan, that can't be too bad lol. And the wondrous key that could end the shop? Good thing the master is still committed though, as per the request of his Grandfather. Heinrich-san's attempt kind of hurt. Got to say, both of these proposals sure came out of nowhere! More focus on Aletta and Kuro-san would've been nice to have but well, the foodgasms were on point this time around too so I'd my fill. Generous 7/10 from my side, hence. |
