Ponytail Haruko was great. It was the best episode of the whole season.

Overall I'm greatly disappointed though, the first season was much better. It's a little shame.

The Hosaka ending needed more epicness....
It was a nice episode, well, the only thing they did was cooking and cleaning but I found it pretty nice though...

All in all it wasn't as good as the first season, but it wasn't that bad either :D

Ending: 8/10
All in all: 8/10

What a heart warming episode... it is so touching. Hosaka, in the end still make me lolololololol. I wonder where will he go? New York perhaps? I guess his laugh ends it all...7/10 on me. I hope for third season... but well, impossible dream... <.<

imo Okawari wasn't very good since the first season set the par too high for Okawari, Okawari introduced a useless character (kid with glasses), while dropping out some funnier characters who don't get enough screen time, the jokes were lame, Hosaka jokes were lame aswel compare to the first season Okawari was overall a disapointment

Just proves again that she is the best of them all.

Poor Makoto and Touma, and lol at Hosaka at the end.

Overall, this show gets a 7 from me.

This episode was sweet, some awwwww moments, but other than that pretty unforgettable. I loled at Hosaka in the top corner watching Haruka's game. Just like the rest of the season, it was very meh. 5/10

Ya, first season was just too good.. and Okawari couldn't fulfil all the expectations coming from season1. The only really funny things in Okawari were Mako-chan, Fujioka and of course Hosaka. Also, I found Keiko and Uchida cuter than any of the Minami's most of the time.

Anyway, as for this last episode.. Hosaka was great again. "Study abroad huh? I need a passport."

Edit: Btw, voice in the plane said "Ladies and Gentlemen, this plane will arrive in San Francisco at 19:00. Have a nice flight.". I'm however puzzled about why in a plane from Japan to SF there would be German announcements :p

Not as epic as last season, the ending was still fine and touching...and good luck Hosaka, you could do it xD.

8/10 , not as great as season 1, but to have it out right after s1 ended.

I feel like the randomly threw Hosaka in there because they didn't know of any other way to end it...reused material, somewhat disappointing. Although it doesn't compare to S1 I like the more mundane approach to the last 3-4 episodes. 6/10

Second season couldn't live up to the expectations set by season one, but that's not saying season two was utter crap. It was good in its own ways. Now here's where a time skip could've been used! The older Kana looks BEYOND WIN!

Overall this series would have gotten a 7/10 from me if not for Hosaka who single-handedly rose my rating up to an 8/10xP, this series would have been so much better if there were more Hosaka X Haruka moments, even if just in his imagination>.<

Yep, they were probably among the best characters of the first season, I missed them too.

Good thing that the series ends with the best episode of the season ! Still it was vastly inferior to the first season all in all. 7/10

Goodbye and good riddance.

You would be suprised how often the strong ones fall apart in those kind of situations in real life. Chiaki's whole world is going to be turned upside down and inside out leaving her completely out of any kind of control in her life. Kana on the otherhand lives by the seat of her pants and rolls with the punches. This makes her more adaptable in these kind of situations.
Overall I give the episode a 9 out of 10 forthe tear filled breakdown by Chiaki and Kana after all their hard work. Plus Hosaka flying off to San Fran laughing all the way :)

there were two stellar moments in this otherwise bleh episode

i can't find it in myself to forgive this sub par series for not having the minami brothers in it or for abandoning all the things that made the last series worth watching and especially not for calling pretending this is the second season when they might as well be entirely different series.

6/10 (it would be lower but i can't help but feel that i wouldn't have hated so many things about it if it wasn't supposed to be minami-ke's sequel)

6/10 for me. The first season was way better but the graphics in this one where very attractive. Its just to bad they couldn't add better jokes and not reuse content from the first season (ie. the first 3 or 4 eps where remakes).

I have one question, what did the letter that Chiaki got in the mail say? I'm guessing it's from the glasses kid. She turned kind of red when she was looking at it...can someone translate what it said?

I agree.

This was probably the best episode of the whole series though. Aside from the fact that it seemed weird for kana to be all responsible and cleaning and stuff, it was really funny. Oh, and i loved how they brought back the original opening at the end. It made me smile. And we did get Hosaka's wonderful laugh.

but overall 6/10 for me. The first season was much better.

I'm not getting myself influenced by all those people who say that the first season was 'much better', because I can't compare the series if they are made by different studio's.
It was great, nothing bad about it, if you get yourself in comparing the two series then the second is lame in some ways, but it had some moments I laughed harder then in the first season.
i.e. the teruterubouze, that was damn funny ^=^
Overall an 9/10 (Hosaka gave the last point away...the humor put in him was not my kind of humor).

GREAT SHOW

I think they went too much for the "slice of life" approach at the beggining and relied on old gags for jokes. They tried to fix this by improving the animation (gasp, no more shadow people !), the jokes and the writing in the latter half, but it was too little, too late.

A decent season by it's own right, completely overshadowed by it's first run (as second runs tend to be). That said, this last episode completely beats season 1's ending episode, as it actually IS an ending, instead of just another episode. Unlike what some people here thought, I actually found it quite belieavable for Chiaki to lose her composure over losing her big sister (who she's completely attached to), while Kana does has some good intentions every once in a while behind her idiot exterior. And was it just me or did they try to mimic the first season's animation during the last part of the episode?

Loved this last episode. The bit where Haruka told them she wasn't going abroad brought a tear to my eye. Still, I wish the rest of the series had been this good. I gave it a 7/10 in the end.

Leon, I think you're right. The last two episodes saw a slight improvement in production values, that almost redeemed Asread. I'm guessing that they needed to show they were capable of listening to fan complaints and fixing perceived problems, in order to get the contract to produce the third season. Making the extra effort there seems to have paid off for them.

Best ending ever. Seriously, not even Cowboy Bebop's ending tops Hosaka's leaving Japan with his epic laugh that hasn't been heard since the first season.

Overall though, the second season, while still good, was highly inferior to the first. Still liked it enough to give it a 7/10 though. (It would probably be a 6 if not for Hosaka)

Once again, I've got to say that I enjoyed this season as much as the first. It wasn't as LOL funny as the first, but I enjoyed the more "realistic" approach this season and the slice of life feel. Great ending and a 9/10 overall.

Overall for me it was an OK season. But here were some great episodes. The animation was much better than the first season but as has it has been repeatedly mentioned it does not live up to the first season.

I also wanted to see more of Touma's brothers. They were funny.

But still I like to separate them so for me this was a 7/10.

BUT

I really enjoyed this last episode. Especially that scene were they were crying. It moved me. Also Hosaka's stalking and ending was priceless in this episode. (as well as in previous episodes)

I feel that Chiaki also developed in this season. So for these reasons I give it a 9/10.

Overall this anime was fun to watch any time of the day and I highly recommend it to people that enjoy slice of life.

PS Does anyone know what the letter that Chiaki got in the mail says? I bet its from Fujuki.

I wanted more Hosaka in this one but only got a little bit. :( Obviously Haruka wasn't going to study abroad, there's too much responsibility for her where she is.

I didn't watch the entire ending, that bit with a possibly grown up Kana is interesting.
