THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Wow, this episode gave me an abstract feeling especially with the way character motions are presented and the colorless scenes. It looks like the goldfish he saw has a connection a drawing he made in the past during childhood.

Episode focused a lot more on Hitomi again but in some of the scenes, it went deep into her psyche. As expected, we got to see more adventures of the photography club. It still had my interest to see how they spend their daily lives both in and outside the school.

A pretty eventful and development episode imo. It's kinda interesting to see how the past connects to present events.

This was a nice episode.
Dramatic halfway but it ended nicely with Hitomi being able to see colours again.
The reasons for the colours returning is also clear but things might not work out they way the should with Hitomi being from a different time and all.
Still things are turning out nicely.

A beautiful episode with tripy colors and the explanation of Yuito slump in drawing was also very beautifully explained in this episode. At last Tskushiro got her colors back. Its kinda unknown how hitomi and yuito related and how Yuito's decision brought hitomi's color back in her life

I really enjoyed the episode, it was dramatic, emotional and we finally got some big, impactful change. I don't know if Hitomi got her colours back because of the promise Yuito made to her, and the fact she "knows" she'll see colour on his drawing, and that was the "promise" she needed. Or, if by any other reason related to Yuito I'm missing out on.
We also got to see more of Yuito, and that something meaningful is causing him a "artistic block", that lead him to snap at Hitomi when she barged into his drawing. Something in his past and mind is clearly bothering him a lot, and whatever it is will play a big role on what happens next.
Really nice episode, can't wait for the next one.

The painting scene was pretty good and shows the artistic block Yuito seems to be suffering. The fish symbolizes a time where he was passion about drawing in grade school and the dark figure with the net represents his frustration in drawing. The scene where the fish dies is him giving up on his dream to become an artist.

I am kind of disappointed that it seems that Hitomi's growth and ability to see color only came from her infatuation with Yuito. The scene before the train where the colors start to die after she sees Artist Senpai seems to be the only way the show can go at this point. I don't like how the reason for their motivation and new passion for their artistry of both characters came from infatuation with each other. I know its a high school romance anime but it just seems kind of bland to go with the love solves everything message. I would like to see more personal growth in the characters outside of their infatuation with each other.

I love this show sm already. I really enjoy the characters' struggles and how Aoi and Hitomi complement each other in their lackings.

I think the reason why Hitomi can see colors now might be simply bc she is finally opening up to emotions. This is the first time she has had such an explosive emotion and a positive reaction to her magic. I mean it was quite the rollercoster in that sense, but Aoi deciding to draw and showing motivation is directly related to her and that might have triggered this freeing feeling. This is just me rambling tho lol.

I trust Hitomi will stay in this 'time' bc granny Kohaku said that this is a one way trip at the beginning, but of cuorse it still worries me D: I will be really sad if it ends up with her going back to her time. Regardless of the lesson learned and stuff. Just stay girl ;; It also worries me how she will deal with her magic. It seems to be as powerful as unstable.

Anyways, great episode. Looking forward to character and romantic developments ♡♡

Asagi is following Kohaku's advice, and is trying to change her current relationship with Sho, let's just hope he won't misunderstand it. But now to Hitomi, and Yuito; she got a bit too close with her magic, I guess that the black shadow was Yuito himself, chasing the gold fish, which is his love/drive for drawing or something like it, but since he isn't really open with his feelings, just like she isn't, he ended up being a bit too rude. But he is going to draw again, and this time he wants to show it to her, so it's definitely a progress; it also seems that she really recovered her colors.

Such a good episode.

The scene in the painting looked stunning, P.A. could play their strength there.

And the moment when the ability to see colors returned to Hitomi was absolutely beautiful, sound, direction and symbolism, everything was on point.

Usually the anime is kind of boring but this episode was cool. I just feel bad for the senpai cuz it seems she had a thing going with Yuito but sadly Hitomi is in the way. hope by the end of anime she can go back to her time (with a kiss goodbye and shit) so that Yuito and senpai can end up together.

This episode would probably be a good kick-off to the plot and whatever else would follow in the upcoming episodes. but goddamn we all know that these romantic plot points won't end well because of the time travel element.

What I really want to see is more of the dynamic between Hitomi-chan and Kohaku obachan.

The fact that this series keeps you wanting for more is amazing. apart from that the visuals and the art is really impressive alongside its use and integration of colour to bring out the best in the scenery shown. By far one of the finest by P.A. Works

SPOILER Alert:

Now that Hitomi-chan can see colours, I seriously think that her dynamic with magic is about to change sometime soon in the next episodes that follow this one. I'd expect nothing less.

The first episode of this show that I genuinely thought was good besides being eye candy

Mostly because I understand the male MC a lot more now and he doesn't just look like a dead character anymore. Hitomi also got some nice development, I still don't like most of the crew but it's getting better

But art wise the episode was even more stunning!

The thing with Hitomi recovering from color-blindness so soon is that there's bound to be a relapse when they end up fighting at some point in the plot that ends up as the major learning experience for both Yuito-san and Hitomi-chan.

Theory: Aoi Yuito is Grandpa, because he ends up with Kohaku in the end when Hitomi-chan has to return to her time period.

The drama was raised a few notches, but this episode still kept its excellent form in its visual storytelling, character development and progression.

The whole visual world of Yuito's drawing that Hitomi traversed in was visual stunning and also reflect on Yuito's drawing when he was younger to the present where he has the artist's block. Each scene within the artistic world was a true reflection of Yuito that had me really mesmerised.

Aside from those two, Asasgi also made a step in the right direction with Sho by telling him to stop patting her on the head. Hopefully this move will help her change her friendship with Sho and into a romantic relationship.

The scene with Yuito and Hitomi in the rain was really well done, along with the tram scene afterwards. Hitomi is now finally able to see colours from her own eyes for the first time, which is great. However, I do still see more drama-related twists down the road, going by the way the story is going, so I look forward to seeing how the next episode turns out. =)

The girls looked really nice in those dresses!

Quite the eventful episode. The art and animation when Hitomi entered Yuito's drawing was quite unique compared to the rest of the series so far. After a little bit of drama, Yuito and Hitomi made up again and suddenly Hitomi's color returned to her. The transition of the colors returning to Hitomi was just gorgeous. PA Works at it's finest.

Overall a great and beautifull episode with interesting developments, now that the colors have returned for Hitomi, what will happen next?

Wow, I thought the show would end with Hitomi regaining her colors but dropping it as a twist in halfway is not bad either. Visuals were really stunning too.

I am still not sure on what will be her fate, she already made some pretty significant changes in the past to greatly affect her own time if she goes back. I don't think Yuito is the grandpa though, she would have probably recognized him by now.

Interesting development this episode is going! The animation when the colors return for Hitomi was as breathtaking as always!

Hitomi can finally see colors! I wonder if this will improve Hitomi herself and magic...

She can go into the drawing with her magic? The drawings look stunning and continues to mesmerize me!

So, Yuito seems to have a dilemma in the past based on his drawings... Glad that he chased after Hitomi in the rain and promises that he will draw and show it to her!

I'm really impressed with this episode! Currently the best episode of the series!

Help, I'm hooked into the Fate series (not all) and am obsessed with Shirou x Saber!
Also, forever hoping for a ufotable remake of the Fate route!

This was a beautiful episode
The art and photography club have a field trip.
Kohaku and Hitomi looked beautiful in those old dresses.
Yuito seems to be stuck in his creative process and Hitomi realizes this, apparently she in the drawing of Yuito and see the world drawn by him, but moving forward we see that the world loses color and deteriorates, in addition the golden fish of Yuito is dull and lifeless.
Yuito discusses with Hitomi since he feels that she is meddling in his problems, the poor girl, quite sad because she made the boy she loves angry.
Kohaku is a good friend / grandmother, she always advises her granddaughter when she has problems.
The part in which Yuito promises Hitomi that she will try to draw again and show it to her was beautiful, and after that event the golden fish comes back to life and follows Hitomi, then the fish makes Hitomi recover the colors that she longed to see again.
I look forward to the next episode, what will happen to Hitomi now that the colors have returned to her life? and this will be permanent or momentary?

now i pretty sure, why Kuhaku(Old) send Hitomi to her young age
and got transfered to Aoi Room at first time Hitomi Arrive
Kuhaku(Old) know about Aoi Drawings can resolve Hitomi Problem
so theory about Aoi is Hitomi's Grandpa is invalid, and at first time if Aoi is her Grandpa at least Hitomi know about his name

It was a good episode but I don't know, it feels like things were resolved too quickly or rather too abruptly?

The scenes inside the painting was really well done, felt like something I'd see in 3-Gatsu no Lion. The metaphor of Aoi trying to search for the fish without ever reaching it was visualized extremely well done.

I think my problem is that they sorta setup the issue of Aoi being unable to draw the way he used to before extremely well. He even snapped at Hitomi for prying on it in a very rude way. However, the way it was resolved seems to abrupt to me. Hitomi sees Aoi talking to another girl and for some reason decides to run away, I guess you can say that she was jealous or something sure but then Aoi runs after her and pretty much says he'll draw again and I don't know that somehow solves everything? Did I miss something? What helped Aoi get inspired again? Why is it that somehow being linked to Hitomi's colors?
Don't get me wrong, the entire scene with fish flying through the world as Hitomi's color returns was extremely well done and looked absolutely stunning but I don't understand how the result was achieved and why it correlated with Aoi finding the inspiration to draw again. Did I miss something?

I loved the photo shoot in the first half, need more scenes like that. xD

New girl got the looks, I like it. XD

Anyway, I hope some of the stuff that happened this episode is explained in the next.

Beautiful episode, as hitomi has able to regain her color perception...

I like that magic arts photography photoshoot. Hahaha...

And regarding hitomi and yuito, well sometimes it do happen when you got to hurt the ones you are close with (and ohh there is a term for such), and i just love how the emotion has set on both of them on that scene. And what i can say is tht hitomi did really care for yuito...

*and she just discover her magic. Nice!!!

This was good!! Hitomi gave Yuito motivation, and he gave her colours. I wonder if Hitomi would get to keep it or if she'd lose it temporarily midway.

Figured we might get something with Asagi this ep, but guess not. Hitomi really has no idea what she's at when it comes to magic considering she managed to get inside Aoi's drawing without realizing it. I was thinking the yellow fish was gonna have some importance, and looks like it literally painted the world for Hitomi. Was not expecting her colours to come back by ep 6. We are probably gonna need some explanation to why this fish is so special. Perhaps it will link to the time travel crap in some way.

damn the feeling after she get her back the COLOUR !!

i love it !!

I HAVE MY THEORY :
i think his the magic, feeling and emotion is linking one after another...
think like this if you happy all the colours is POP out and if you glooming or mad or sad all around you become darkened and give out monochrome situation.
in this case our protagonist is always sad and glooming like in the episode 1 till 6 she always sad never happy... but in the episode 6 she is happy that what she did her magic can make someone happy (yuito for example) so she is happy to see that and the magic bring the colors back...

TLDR
her magic make him cannot see the beautiful colors
her magic is linked with emotion and feeling

THIS IS MY THEORY... but if someone think the same i'm happy...

SO be HAPPY GUYS so you can see the world as beautiful place !!!

Good episode!

Personally, I thought the resolution to Aoi’s affliction and struggles was a little too abrupt and hence gave off an odd feeling. It was a nice conversation between Aoi and the librarian though, looks like she helped him regain his artistic prowess. Coincidentally meeting up with Hitomi there though, I was sure the drama was going to continue to next epsiode but it’s good to see Aoi take the initiative and sort it out as quick as possible. Consequently, it made this whole struggle of Aoi less screentime-worth. But again, Hitomi is our main character so it’s not too much of a biggie and I just wanted to get this across.
What an amazing depiction of his struggle though with that glorious art during the whole scene where Hitomi forcefully(?) barges is to his artistic sense. It was only natural that Aoi would mind that and we got exactly that.
Moving on, Granny Kohaku using magic in that suspenseful moment felt a little too arrogant but thankfully it worked out. Towards the start of the episode though, the photo shoots were pleasing to see! We also got more of Asagi and the President, I’m really hoping we get that sorted out soon before it gets dragged on all the way to the finale. Most importantly, it seems as though Hitomi’s colour has come back to her now. I wonder if the magic she casted on herself unknowingly had something to do with this, inferring from the convo between Kohaku and her mother. Well, that’s my take on it anyway.

Looking forward to seeing what the future episode have in store for us!

Nice illustration. That goldfish is the symbol of Aoi's passion on drawing, that's why hitomi saw it dead in his image when he can't drawing for a while. And that fish also helps hitomi to get her colors again.

This is another good episode, and lots of good lessons learned.

I think that Hitomi was sent back in time to learn some vital lessons, one of which is opening up, and not being afraid and looks like she is learning that lesson well.

Also LOVE the 'Hitomi in the painting' animation. Was well well done.

Looking forward to the next episode.

Ohh great! Best episode till now. Not that I hate a slow paced show (I rather like them) but finally seeing Aoi and Hitomi interact more was great. Sho walked Hitomi home. Did he fall for her or what (wanna protecc syndrome may be if not love).
So Aoi bought those scent of the forest star sands for his senpai (She was pretty cute).

Then some stuffs happens between Hitomi and Aoi.
And guess what?! Hitomi got back her colours (Thanks to Aoi?).

I thought that was his older sister for a second, not quite sure why. Wonder if she's plot relevant...

Honestly I thought it would have taken her a little longer to get a colour vision back, kinda like a "Oh I got it back now, and I'll go find a way back to the future" in the last few episodes before returning to her time. If it's this early, we could be getting a little more out of this show, like seeing Hitomi return and put her life back together in her time.

The Hitomi-inside-the-picture scene was absolutely gorgeous visually. That's the kind of innovative and visually nourishing scene I'd like to have more often. Variously reminded me of, Disney animations, an amazing 'Prince and the Pauper' adaptation I watched when I was a kid, and the Man who Planted Trees, at different points.

Unfortunately animation quality was sloppy outside of that sequence. Underwhelming for PA.

Everyone compares this to Nagiasu first, but I feel this is getting increasingly closer to Glasslip. In a good way though. A refined version of it, if you please.

Episode itself felt faster, scenes and transitions more rapid and more acute, felt more 'decisive' maybe? Imperfect though, some scenes should have been more impactful.
