| I'm really hoping it doesn't, but who knows. It wouldn't be the end of the world, but it'd feel awkward starting this new arc and not finishing it. Oh man, this season has been so fucking good and if they went with the full 24 episodes, it'd be spectacular. Yonko said it'd be 24 episodes, but I don't really trust him, seems to be pretty hit or miss. We'll know soon enough in the next couple of weeks though. I do hate being in limbo like this, I wish they'd just confirm it from the beginning. |

| the silence about the split cour speculation isn't a good sign.. if its a 2 cour i'm sure the official Japanese account would confirm it since the Japanese fans started this speculation in the first place even though its a stretch but i really hope that this whole ordeal is just a simple one week break between seasons just like the case with Banana Fish and Satsuriku no Tenshi and other 2 cour animes that's currently airing |

It's not unheard of that episodes are finished hours before they are supposed to air. That's also why sometimes different TV-Stations or simulcasting websites end up with different versions of the same episode. |

"Seasons" was a term applied to anime by Westerners. Seasons are a continuous set of episodes, while cours are only 12 or 13. Aldnoah.Zero was two cours, with it's second cour arriving three months after the first, and yet it's listed as being two separate seasons on MAL. Same with Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works. So the next set of AoT episodes coming out in April would actually be the fifth cour. |

You have a new season as soon as the production committee for a new season is formed.
