Ooh a new OP song. Nice. This one is colorful featuring the main characters and even Souya is in it.

More focus on Hinata this episode. The school drama seems to never leave this season but I'm glad that Hina has her sisters that supports her. The amount of human emotions and storytelling on bullying and the drama really takes the cake this time around. What an experience she has to go through...wow.

And that wraps up the bullying arc oh boy was that great. 12 episodes for an entire arc thank you.

Lets see where the rest of the show takes us. Will it go down another arc or take small arcs.

the new OP is really really good BUT JESUS THAT ED IS SPECTACULAR... has to be one of my favourites

i liked seeing hina's old teacher in a new light,, i understand where she is coming from but that is still pathetic, you need to support your students no matter what grrrrrrr.

proud of hina and akari, they're both so strong

That was another fantastic episode and a great start to the second cour.

The OP and ED are stunning once again especially the ED, Shaft really nailing the visuals.

Hina standing up to Takagi in class was brilliant, I can't help but feel so proud of her for the amount of courage she displays, takes real guts to do something like that.
I kinda felt for Hina's teacher at the end when she was hospitalized, I can't accept her actions for trying to ignore the situation but I can at least understand that she just couldn't take it anymore after facing this year after year.

The new teacher is awesome, we need more people like him and Hayashida. xD

The scene with Akari comforting Hina saying she'd always be her ally was beautiful, especially with the scene where Hina's eating food. I couldn't help but tear up. :(
I don't like Takagi's Mom, I understand she's defending her child but she certainly has no tact despite being so grown up. I felt really bad for Akari, she's probably not used to something like this since she's such a gentle and caring person. :(

Hina mustering up all her courage and telling Akari she'd fight till the very end totally broke me, such courage and tenacity from a little girl. That was so damn powerful and inspiring. Go Hina! I'll always be rooting for you!

I love how the head teacher totally wrecked Takagi's Mom by using her very own 'Proof' argument against her. Play of the Game right there! xD
I really love how the chapter adapted in the second half is called 'Light'.

Once again, I can't stress how good the visuals for the OP and ED are.
Looking forward to the next episode.

So the new teacher apparently had this happen multiple times in the same class. Now that is still her own fault, she didn't anything when it began, it could have been fixed right there and then. Yet she didn't and so she paid the price.

This would have continued but now, we have this godsend of a teacher coming in. What a top bloke to tackle this with his words to the class and scheduling parent-pupil-teacher meetings.

He also has the judgement and courage to say honestly what he thinks to the parties involved. That was awesome.

Seeing Akari is such despair over being able to help made me so emotional, it's great to see how Hina and Akari support each other.

Don't blame the mother of the bully for what she said, her daughter was obviously lying to her face and accused Hina of wrongdoings that concerned her family. Of course, she would be very upset since that's an attack.

Fantastic episode.

Just a rollercoaster of emotions; proud that Hina has grown to be so strong and determined, angry at the teacher for never intervening, taken aback by how good the new teacher is, and utterly disgusted by the mother of the bully for her defense of her daughter. I know parents believe their child and everything but that blind distrust really pissed me off and made me like the new teacher even more with how he responded. Phenomenal episode.

Man that was a very intense episode. That Takagi and her mother really had me triggered lol, no way I would stand for that if I was a parent. The Headteacher was the MVP with his interjection near the end.

Most likely the episode I liked the less from the entire series.

Stylistically speaking the overuse of shaftisms got really distracting and made the scenes longer than necessary, as well as weirdly sequenced. The one in which the teacher passed out was almost absurdly comical, which is not positive.

Also the only episode in which Rei got no screentime at all. This show really needs him to work.

The new OP and ED were pretty enjoyable. USG's songs are usually upbeat and fast-paced so this OP was a nice change.

Goodbye, useless bitch teacher. The way she handled Hina's situation was already unacceptable, but now we learned that this has happened in her classes every year. Her turning a blind eye year after year makes her, in my opinion, just as bad as the bullies.

Thankfully, we got Madao this new teacher coming in and putting Takagi and her mom in their place. It's nice to see a teacher that'll actually do something about this. The way he used the same "where's the proof?" argument to counter Takagi's mom's point was so satisfying. It was also nice to see Hina finally standing up for herself.

Oh yeah, and now I completely understand why Takagi is such a piece of shit. It's because her mom is a piece of shit. It always starts with the parents.....

*my thought process during this episode*

OH MY FREAKING COD IT WAS SO FREAKING FRUSTRATING. I was expecting takagi's mom to be an asshole but she's just way out there in the asshole department.

UGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad the old teacher is out of the game, what happened to her was her fault alone; if she try to stop things sooner, if she only listened to the victims of bullyism all those years, that wouldn't have happened to her. I can't feel sorry for her, she, by doing nothing, she became an accomplice.

AND HELL YEAH THAT FREAKING NEW TEACHER PUT THE FREAKING BITCHY MOM IN HER PLACE, FREAKING WITCH.

I'm so mad right now, so mad, i swear i was cursing and wanted to punch those brooms so bad!

Honestly, how many times can this show keep on topping itself? This is at least the fifth or sixth time in this second season where I've felt an episode has surpassed the rest, and in this case it's particularly impressive considering we didn't get a single second of Rei this week (has the show ever gone an entire episode without him appearing before?). This was a fantastic resolution to this arc, and I was honestly surprised that they also looked at the whole thing from the old teacher's perspective: I don't agree with her approach, but I can certainly understand why she ended up ignoring the issue entirely. The visuals were also on point for the entire episode, and the whole thing just came together flawlessly.

I've been debating it for the past few episodes, but I think this episode is the one that's gonna make me push this up to a 10/10.

Another perfect OP and a pretty good ED as well.

That new teacher is the MVP of the episode, they should have brought him since the beginning (maybe the old teacher didn't told him anything and that was the reason why he didn't intervened sooner, but at least is something).

On another note, Hanazawa's voice acting when Hina was conforting her sister after her breakdown was awesome.

Light and darkness, excellent episode again. This series really shows bullying in its very raw form.
Glad the old teacher is gone and the new one is probably pretty strong to handle the situation.
Have felt for Akari, she really has it tough to take care of her sisters alone, never waver. On the other hand, Hina's will was pretty much staple of this episode.

No Kei there and I didn't even care, it was as good as that. Really hope the bully-girl gets what she deserves the next time.

Excellent first episode for the new year. The new OP song is alright, although I enjoyed the first one more. The visuals are great though. ED song is good.

Love how Hina is standing up to Takagi.

Hina's teacher just couldn't handle it anymore. Great to see that the Head Teacher is doing something about the bullying.

Takagi's Mum is just as bad. Making Akari cry is unforgivable.
Akari is doing her best to support Hina & cheer her up with some desserts. That is awesome.

Someone needs to make that teacher a statue in his honor, he deserves it. Finally someone in the school is willing to get his shit together and act, although I understand now why the other teacher wasn't willing to act. This episode shows that bullying doesn't only affect students, and that is a very real thing that is almost never mentioned when people talk about it. As a guy whose mother is a highschool teacher, I really ended up feeling sorry for the woman, and I hope that my mom never has to face anything like that.

Waiting two weeks was definitely worth it,episode didn't disappoint at all.

First off,awesome opening again.

Then I was amazed by Hinas strength this episode even going face to face with her bully and encouraging her own big sister, great development.

And finally a sensei who kicks ass, he's just so straight forward and the way he shut the mouth of that annoying mother, fucking loved it.

And based on the preview, it seems like the new sensei is going for the root of the "evil",good to know that he's so dedicated to help his students.

Another episode that wrecked me.....this is so good

What's really interesting is after seeing several teachers failing to act for whatever reasons in other shows and media to see a teacher completely breaking down because of her inability to act and help victims of bullying. She's sort of like a victim too in a way.

So glad someone finally stepped up who wasn't afraid to confront a parent. Felt like screaming for joy at the end

That was a relief when Hina took the role of the big Sis since Akari is really, really too pure (nice) for this world.

The new teacher is how ... any teacher should be. Another great character in this show. It never ends.

The true evil : parents protecting their kids no matter what. I so wish I will never have to deal with this kind of shit people.

About the old teacher, she's real. I mean, she remembered me one I once had, for my last year she left with a depression as well. She was somewhat dumb and had no authority. The class was so noisy with her. The difference was huge with the other "normal" classes.

Some people should never become teachers. They're just too weak psychologically.

Great episode, once again!

If i was a 2D character my fist would have landed squarely on the nose of Takagi's mom. No wonder her daughter is a bully and a hateful person.

Luckily the new teacher seems like a more intelligent and mentally robust character who is going to be able to deal with the problems in this class.

6/5- Akari steps up, Hinata steps up some more and finally a teacher steps up! This episode shows us that the series can still be great even without Rei.

In my opinion, this was the strongest episode of the season. The art and animation was on point, the directing was fluid and the lighting was perfect for each scene. Shaft continues to prove to me why it's arguably the best studio out there.

Special mention to HanaKana for her voice acting in this as well. Every word that came out of Hina's mouth felt so damn genuine. Her anger and frustration in her voice made things feel that more tense. On top of that, the delivery was near perfect with her tone changing during pivotal moments in her monologue and the brief pauses between each statement to let her words sink in a bit before moving on prevented her speech sounding like she's just spewing out lines.

Also, that teacher break down scene was done super well. I hated that teacher but that scene did made me feel some sympathy for her...despite me wanting to tear her head off all season. Watching her slowly fall into madness over the situation was a real treat. The way she was acting made me feel uneasy and worried for the students there. Luckily she went on a sabbatical to take better care of herself.

That scene with the mom though is a different story...Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the Cunt Tree. She raise valid points in protecting her child and how it can be all made up by Hinata. I kinda expected that from any parent to be honest, believing in my child until proven guilty....though she was quite aggressive in her statements to Akari. Poor Akari, I know she's new to this whole situation and all but damn, what an opponent she has to overcome. Hopefully this whole situation is resolved soon, I can't stand watching these two sweet souls cry. I'm glad that the new teacher is trying to view things from his perspective alone rather than jump to conclusions like the previous teacher did. I was so happy to see him slam the same reasoning the Cunt Mom threw at Akari right back at her. This guy gives me hope for a better school life for Hinata.

Anyways, I had my doubts with Unison Square Garden playing the new OP but that's a pretty good song. That new ED song though, god damn I love it. The visuals for both the OP and ED were superb as well.
