| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Heh, I think it's kinda unique with what they did with the cardboard narrative in the beginning. So the reminiscence episodes began this week with some baseball drama. Once again, human emotions takes people to make an offering wih Ai. The content is pretty much exactly the same as Season 1, episode 3. (The Tarnished Mound) This episode honestly gave me nostolgia. |

But that's not correct, this anime ends at the episode 6 with the new hell girl, next episodes are all gonna be like this with old stories from previous seasons if I get it. Screw this. |
| So if I understand things correctly, first half of the series were new episodes and the second half will all be rerun episodes from prior seasons of the series? If so, why bother even airing it as a full one-cour series? |

| now this is disappointing !! the first intro shouts clearly "OUT OF BUDGET!!" and the recap thing is just sad...i mean yes it's great to remember the old days when hell girl was actually a dark show !! but if you're planning on 6 episodes ... say it !! don't give me false hope !! anyway .. it's said that the rest will be re-runs as well...so yeah! |
| man this episode tho one of my favorites in a unique way glad to see it again (but not too much lol), if am ever in a situation like that and somebody got hurt I would never or agree to make up a story to the parents were its me who caused it even for the smallest incident anymore lol. | The final six episodes are reruns, but there has to be a purpose to them, right? If it's just a rehash, then maybe it would have been better to air it in the beginning of this season and then add in the newer episodes right after. That would help catch everyone up and add the hype for what's to come. If it's just reruns, then that's kind of weird. This episode was pure nostalgia though. The pacing was done well and everything about it was great. |

| I love the episode of the Tarnished Mound, quite honestly. Perhaps in part due to how early it was before I caught wind of the formula. That being said, the audacity to repackage this as the fourth season's 7th episode immediately drops this to a 1. Complete garbage. It is not just the quality, but the shamelessness of such a move. Fuck....you....Deen, or whoever decided this was a great idea. Fuck this. I am out. Sayonara. Really got to update my list though. |

I am loss with words. I was hoping that the team will put more effort in the Reminiscence eps. instead of giving out a full, uninspired, copy & paste episode. Despite that, I like the skit at the beginning though. |

| Not even gonna bother if it's literally an exact recap of the original episode. Seriously, if they only had six episodes of new content, why do a full cour of episodes and waste half of them on episodes that people have already watched? So yeah, this is me done with this I suppose, and I'll probably knock the rating down by 1 at some point to reflect this. |

| It's kinda hilarious the end of the episode did a lead up to the S1 ending song, then just cuts out and it plays the S4 ending... Why the hell did they do this, anyway? I mean it was a good episode...back in season 1. But really? All it really did was show how much better they did back in the old days. |

| The episode was a comun, a baseball school player and his ego killed a teammate but he will pay his act.....kekeke....., but the intro was cool with the change in the animation style!!! This small change did the difference!!!! ;) |
| Wut? What an odd thing to do. If you only have 6 episodes worth of content, don't make a 12-episode show. Who could possibly profit from this decision? |

 I knew from the get-go that we'd be going back, but I thought that they'd at least be REMAKING episodes. I didn't know they'd just copy and paste the old content. This is just so disappointing and frustrating. On top of the fact that I would've loved to see the actual season 4 story fleshed out across 12 episodes, there's absolutely no purpose for 12 episodes to begin with. Why didn't they just make it 6 episodes? Does anyone know why this happened? This is just plain disheartening, as if the initial news and the rushing of the initial story (and don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the first half) wasn't hard enough to deal with. They didn't even give it a quality recap. The skit at the beginning just put a frown on my face because of that fact. Why, man, why? |

Funny how they just cut it...you could hear the old ending song and it just cuts to the new suddenly. I didn't really enjoy the IRL/2d mix at the beginning either. I have no idea what were they thinking. The only thing that comes to my mind is that they totally gave no fucks, not even about possible profits and just threw something together for pure nostalgia because they could. |
| Now this was a good Jigoku Shoujo episode! Oh wait... it's a recap from season 1, no wonder why it was so good, lol. Meh, not sure how I feel about having recaps. Although I do believe previous seasons were better, if I really wanted to watch them so much, I'd go back and rewatch previous seasons instead of wanting another season. |

| This is terrible...Jigoku Shoujo is over. It ended horribly last week, and now we just have the main characters (without Ai), reminiscing about their past together at a bar. How horrible. |

| Last month I re watched the first season. Now this one repeat the story. And... It is me or the quality of animation is worst than the original? They only did a copy paste of the episode. Do they re animated it? Or only made it HD? Enma Ai is using the Kimono of the first season: The episode didn't have the preview of next episode. I am really curious about what do this title have to offer. My expectations are now very low. |
| This was laughable to say the least, i didn't think things would turn out this bad, actually liked the previous 6 eps, but this was a bad way to brings things back, despite that really liked the end because of the nostalgia, what happened to Ai's grandma and her bathing in the river? and finally wanyuudo transforming into a flying carriage, good times. |

| WTF!? This is just a re-run... So this season is 50% filler... Way to ruin something good... The new arc felt too short. Michiru took over fully basically immediately after she regained her memories and they just dropped the story there... I am disappointed. They should have made the transition longer, or continued the story longer after with the new Hell Girl. It would even have been better to just end it there at six episodes than to waste half a season on rehashed bullshit! Talk about wasted potential... It's like they're not even trying... ...fuck. |

| I actually don't get it. I mean, I get it, but I don't GET it. Why did this season even air at all? Why was time wasted animating this? All of the actual new episodes didn't make much sense to me, but it's been years since I finished season 3, so I thought maybe it did make sense, my memory was just fuzzy. But nah. The last episodes that they're dedicating to reruns could have been a more fleshed out story with the new jigoku shoujo, that I don't even remember the name of, because she was there, got a shitty origin story, and then was gone. aHHHHHHHH they should've just left the series alone. :/ |

| You know...I actually might have preferred if they just presented the reminiscence episode entirely in cardboard cutout fashion. That could have at least told us that they were putting some effort into it... If this is an attempt for Deen to get newer watchers into the Jigoku Shoujo franchise, then it isn't doing it very well. It's basically spoiling the episodes of past seasons to get newer watchers to buy the older seasons. It's like Deen is saying that the past seasons are better than this season, so you should watch those instead. Season 4's purpose was basically to get people to watch the previous three seasons...Why... What would have worked better as reminiscence episodes would be to revisit the backstories of Ai's servants and apply them to Michiru's requests. One for Wanyuudo, Ren, Hone Onna, Kikuri, Yamawaro, and finally Ai. I would have been fine with this, but instead we get random episodes. I'm actually interested to see how well Yoi no Togi sells... |

It'd maybe be neat to see where these people are at now. If they regret their choices. What that person sent to hell is up to. Anything besides just plain rehashing that requires absolutely no effort. |

| I am so disappointed with this season. Not only was it rushed, lack of quality, and the character development of Michiru was very weak--they're now going to use the old episodes from previous seasons? Why? I was already disappointed with last week episode; they didn't explain why Michiru wanted to become Hell Girl. She just out of nowhere took the job like nothing ever happened. What happened to her profound thoughts against being one? So that's it? They shouldn't have made this season happened. 4/10. |
