| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Felt bad for Albus tbh. The kid almost loses it with the aftermath of the village. Pretty much expected that reaction considering how many people perished. Compared to the other episodes, this one felt much more serious and goes to show that death is quite real in this show even as magic exists and what they can really do.. |

| Well, I didn't quite expect them to get to Thirteen so quick, but I suppose I'm fine with it, even if his fight with Zero left a lot to be desired (it was a lot like a Harry Potter battle, in a way, but not as impressive). |

Overall, this was a great episode and I'm looking forward to seeing the next one and where this whole thing with 13 goes.....I feel bad for Albus too for having to see all of this though, and these Mercenary flashbacks gets more bloody with each one O_O |
| Albus lost a lot of people in that village. He almost killed an innocent guy because of his rage. Zero's battle against 13 was not so exciting. He's skills are impressive. It's interesting the king hired him. |

| Even though the show looks average in terms of animation and art, that magic confrontation was nice. Like i thought, the fun travelling times are over from now on, i'm sad. Albus being the granddaughter doesn't seem too far off now seeing his reaction to the question and the man telling him to be the new leader. Not sure what to think of Thirteen yet. |

The way she reacted and talked was a hint. The way she looks up to Sorena was another, from the first ep, but that wasn't enough. Ofc I might be just wrong and assuming things :p we'll see soon enough |

| Intense as we finally come to a more serious episode, it seems like White Fox adapted this just to kill time which is kinda sad as it pretty good and i'm having a good time watching this. The novel will also probably not get a translation anytime soon |

| This is a cracking little series with some great charters. The animation is fine but not White Fox best work. Im interested to know more about 13 and how he fits in with the story. |

| While I think that the deciption of the dead villagers was a little bit too edgy for my taste, was the rest of the episode in return pretty good. There was more story progress in this one. Thirteens early appearance lets me hope that the story won't be too rushed near the end and that things will wrap up properly. The clash of magic was quite nice to watch. |

| Zero said that magic can't bring the dead back to life.....well you can certainly try, though it might cost you an arm and a leg....... Tasteless jokes aside, I felt bad for Albus in this episode and what he (or she?) had to witness in the village. I agree with someone above that assuming Albus really is a girl, she's probably Sorena's granddaughter based on the reaction when Zero mentioned her. We got introduced to Thirteen and this little "battle" between him and Zero seems to be getting intense....not necessarily in the traditional sense, seeing as how they're just standing there yelling while shooting magic beams at each other, but that's not the point. Next episode should be pretty interesting. |

| Nope. Gotta have to drop this here. Whole this series feels like budget version of proper drama, it's full of badly cliched scenes, empty phrases and the developement is average at best. Whatever good stuff remains in form of Zero x Youhei relationship (which is the reason I stayed with this series for four episodes) is utterly destroyed by annoying Albus, uninteresting antagonist (or would be ally) and unimaginative world-building. You know something is wrong with the series when you don't care at all about what's gonna happen next. Dropped. |

| this honestly feels like a kid show , everything is so simplified also the animation budget is pretty weak for a 12 episode anime, well i guess the producers dont have high expectations for it just give us more re zero white fox... |
| Considering how good the art looks in this series, it's hard to say these action scenes aren't a letdown. I can't deny that the lack of real risks inherently makes these scenes less thrilling, but the animation could definitely make things a little more exciting. That being said, it took a while for things to get going, so I'm curious to see what comes next. |
| So now we know who thirteen is. I wonder how old Zero actually is? Thirteen mentioned they had a battle 10 years ago yet she looks like she's barely a teenager. Ah the cliffhanger ending, Mercenary walking into the fight like that gave me Pokemon the Movie vibes when Ash walked right into the fight between Mew & Mewtwo. Nothing bad happened to him though judging by the preview for the next episode. Pretty good episode, the fight so far has been pretty good. Looking forward to next episode where Thirteen will most likely explain more about what's going on. |

| did not expect mercenary to have that kind of past, he had it really rough as beastfallen. I should pay more attention on what author trying describe his character in LN. anyways, be prepare for this next two episodes, I guess there's going to be a rollercoaster ride. Lets hope this series is treated better than the devil part timer. |

We finally get a look at zeros real power and I gotta say I'm impressed! 13 seems like a classic power grabbing bad guy but since he has the next episode dedicated to him maybe he's a more complicated character than this first interaction has shown. It was so sad seeing Albus grieving over all his fellow sorcerers deaths and saying good bye to the dog. I hope we get more action next episode! |

| finally the story is picking up. Good episode. That fight at the end is great. That is how mage battles should be. though I don't like the beam struggle, better if it was like the first few moves. Spells to counter spells until one wins. |
