I'm glad to see Yakumo doing better now. His health isn't well but at least he is stable.

Nice to see Yotarou perform a rakugo this episode.
I think at this point, he's earned the respect of most of his peers and Yakumo himself. Definitely an emotional performance coming by him imo.

The little kid is liking rakugo, too. Another looking back at past time. Ishida-san's character allowing the record to be kept. To enjoy what they do?

Everyone wanting Ishida-san's character to do rakugo longer, so Sukeroku doing his rakugo for him first. That police barging in before his show...

26:55 next.

How Yakumo got his groove back: the episode. Or at least it was certainly shaping up that way before that surprise ending. If the mob boss' conversation in the rain earlier in the episode with Yakumo was supposed to be foreshadowing, some sort of acknowledgment that he expected this arrest to happen, it completely flew over my head. I feel bad for those around him like that older woman whose name I don't know, and Yakumo of course. There were plenty of sweet moments this episode before then though. Yotaro and Konatsu under the bridge, that women flinging the retreating Yakumo into the lion's den, and of course Yotaro performing Sukeroku's story. Konatsu's tearful scene with Yakumo on the bridge and Shin asking him how Sukeroku died certainly took on different meanings after last week's revelation. And well...that's all until next week, I guess. Not sure where we go from here but...did I see Yotaro in a prison outfit in that preview? Please god tell me that's a flashback if so.

I figured Konatsu loved Yakumo. Even through all of her hated and wanting revenge, He was still a father figure in his life.

I felt confused when Konatsu was blushing when hearing Yota's performance, yet she still saw her father perform the same one and knew all along what Yota was performing. Was it just the tears he was shedding which surprised her? Idk it seemed weird.

Damn what a twist at the end.

I'll never get over how well written and directed it is.

The boss was trying to get one last rakugo performance from Yakumo, yet he couldn't quite see it. Damn. I have to say though that this being the end to this episode was weird.

The bridge scene was fantastic. Really conveys in what fucked up situation Yakumo really is.

And then Yotaro's rakugo, that was very emotional. Everytime they panned to Yakumo's face, it was a real blow.

pretty much a lovely episode with sentimental, heartfelt moments till that end. wasn't expecting that at all. i thought it would just go all swell but that's just not how it's gonna be huh.

however, was the relationship between Yakumo and the mob boss ever explicitly explored? maybe i wasn't paying attention at some parts but i'm a bit confused

Seriously one of the best shows I've seen in so long. It's really hard to find anime that have both seasons jsut as good as the other. This is definitely another 10/10 from me.

Honestly... I teared up during Yotaro's performance. Loved when the Yakumo was thrown on stage, haha. That was great. The bridge scene really tugged at my heart, too. And what a twist at the end!

Also, I feel bad if I actually forgot, but do we know what happened between the Boss and Yakumo? They have some sort of debt between each other?

Dude, I cry so much watching this.
Also, I expected this episode to have a happy ending since the past three were sad as fuck, but HA, sasuga rakugo. No way this is going to end up well.
Konatsu crying and hugging Yakumo was ughugjdooiakdpo *cries* I really love the anime, but is painful to watch in so many levels.

Yakumo threatening suicide as the OP predicted... dear...

Yotaro's performance felt like a way to snap Yakumo out of his desire to die in peace; shame that the latter's performance will have to wait until next week courtesy of the authorities.
I'm just confused by the whole concept of scoring by "Writing and characters." If you're not entertained, why should you care?

Why is Yakumo's performance being interrupted yet again.
Flash back or Yota going back to the gang to get the boss dude out?

Hopefully the animation gets back to its usual next week, some scenes were abit eh :/

Really liked Yotaro's performance of the story we saw in Sukeroku's archived footage from last week's episode. It sucks that Yakumo got interrupted by the police, that's only going to sour the mood.

i really like how this anime handles relationship, so realistic and simple. love the cute relationship between Yotaru and Konatsu

haha that lady saying "My!" and throwing Yakumo into the room

it would have been really funny if the police just stood there and listened to Yakumo perform and then bust in right as he was done, a lot more polite too!

I agree. I am worried that the police showing up at the end ruined things. Like it wasn't meant to be or something. Let's just hope the next time Yakumo does rakugo, Miyokichi-san doesn't show up.

It is a very relatable face!

I believe they didn't reveal anything yet, unless it has something to do with the events during the war in s1.

BTW, what kunatsu and yakumo were referring to when they looked at each other while yota was performing.
And can someone explain what does inokori mean? because as far as i know the story he told is called shibahama

I guess Konatsu and Yakumo looked at each other because Yotaro was telling a story that sukeroku used to do it. It's the story Yotaro saw in the video

And inokori is that story that Yotaro did in the episode that Yakumo had to go to the hospital. Each storyteller have their own way to tell that story, that's why is so important to Yotaro that Yakumo can hear his own inokori

It wasn't the first time that the police failed to read the mood...

It was a bit of a shame that Yakumo didn't get to perform. However, Sukeroku's performance was lovely, juxtaposing two whole generations of storytelling.

Wonderful episode. Both the bridge segment and Yota's performance got me emotional.

Also, I may be reading b/w the lines but did this episode implied that Konatsu actually knew the truth all along? If yes, then her resentment to Kikuhiko's a bit unjustified.

Also, looks like the next episode's gonna be an amazing one.

Yotaro really sincere performance.
That fishmonger rakugo has so much depressing baggage for Konatsu & Yakumo, heavy moments. Her leaning on Yotaro & the bridge discussion. She's still angry tho, maybe time to learn the truth or chill.

It's so sweet that Shinnosuke got to see a photo of his real grandfather. He looks like a black-haired Sukeroku. It's as if Sukeroku and Yakumo had a kid together. lol Higuchi has been secretly recording Yakumo's performances for future generations.

Yakumo was ambused lol That touching performance by Yotarou. It was as if Sukeroku was there himself.

I don't know much about Kido Isao's past. I'm sure he has killed people and has done a lot of bad but I felt sorry for him when he was arrested just before Yakumo was about to perform. :(
