Check out my completed compilation of Shokugeki no Soma's manga recipes on the side! (It's the tinyurl!)

Hey, I'm Kayune! I've been watching anime for pretty much all my life (if you count watching them in English dub on Kids WB, 4Kids, et cetera on channels 5, 7, and 11 back in the day LOL.) If not, well then for the specifics, I started watching anime in Japanese in mid-2006 I wanna say? I've been reading manga since 2007/2008.
For favorite series and other misc stuff, check out my listography link on the side! :)
The first anime I ever completed was Bomberman Jetterz. (I watched it with my older brothers. Please watch it. It's really great.) The first anime (+shoujo) I completed on my own was either Cardcaptor Sakura or Tokyo Mew Mew/Mew Mew Power. My first sports anime was The Prince of Tennis. My first (action) shounen was Bleach or Rockman/Megaman.
The first manga I ever read was either Spiral - The Bonds of Reasoning or Kitchen Princess... One of those two, haha!
Note about Faves: I put the first season of the anime as my favorite, but what it really means is that I loved every season. It's not that I only liked the first season specifically. Anything in my favorites means you should watch and/or read everything.
My top anime list are all anime that I believe should be watched by everyone. Each of them have changed my life in some way, have made such a profound impact on me that made me rethink life in a different way and have made me reflect on myself as a person. Same goes for my top manga list.

Regarding why some manga don't have a rating:
I suddenly, for no particular reason, stopped reading manga after I moved to Japan. (Except for One Piece and Space Brothers.)
As of 4/2022, I am trying to find and finish as much of my manga list as I can. However, unfortunately, for a lot of them, I have forgotten what last happened in the last chapter I read. I only remember the general story but not the nitty-gritty details. I don't have the time to re-read them from the beginning therefore I don't believe it's fair for me to rate them.
Regarding why some anime don't have a rating:
I watched it in theaters in Japan and didn't fully understand enough of the dialogue to be able to give it a fair rating.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before I explain how I rate animes, I just want to say, if you ever see an anime I rated (Probably an old anime), and you are appalled at the rating I gave it, I just have to say that I probably watched it when I was like 13 or 14 so to me at the time, it was good. LOL.
If I rated an anime lower than what I rated the manga, it's because I'm super nitpicky and compared it a lot to the manga LOL So if I rated an anime a 7 instead of the 8 or 9 I gave it for the manga, I think if I didn't read the manga I would have given it the same score I gave it for the manga, if that makes sense. Basically, it is definitely worth watching. I'm just being stingy. LOL. (This may be why I stopped reading manga... Knowing what happens next kinda ruined my enjoyment of the anime.)
I try to watch three to five episodes of an anime before deciding to drop it. If I decide to drop an anime before or at the 5 episode mark, I just delete it off my list instead of marking it as dropped. Therefore, although my MAL shows that I have dropped 33 shows, I have actually dropped way more than that.
Here's how my anime ratings go: (I round ratings up, so if a show got an 8, it might actually be a 7.5 in my book, but rounding it down was too mean.)
4 or lower: Absolutely not worth your time. Don't bother watching it. (It's EXTREMELY rare I rate an anime this low. I'm usually pretty lenient with my ratings, so if it's this bad... yeah. It's bad. Why did I watch this? Probably because I watched it with a friend or a friend forced me to by gunpoint. (lmao) Please, save yourself and do not watch this show. They're not so bad they're funny, they're just really bad.. Insultingly badly written.
5 - It was ok. It had a painfully cliche plot or it started off solidly, but developed into something that you've probably already seen a billion times already. If I'm not mistaken, most of the series I rated a 5 were otome game adaptions or specials/OVAs/ONAs. Or I got so far into the series I thought, I might as well finish it and see it to the end.
6 - I don't recommend it. Honestly, it was a bit of a waste of time. I 100% had to force myself to stick to watching the show all the way through. Again, it most likely had a cliche /uninteresting plot and/or generic characters. It might have had a solid/satisfying ending, or some highs that were good enough that I felt it would have been too mean of me to give it a 5. I just kept holding on, hoping things would get better. A forgettable show.
7 - It was a solid show. It wasn't that good, but it wasn't bad either. There were many times when I got bored watching it. But I would say it is worth at least trying out and watching the whole way through. I wouldn't be able to say it's worth going onto the second season though. I couldn't recommend this show other than to specific people.
8 - This anime will be worth your time. I was thoroughly engaged throughout each episode. There may have been boring scenes every now and then, but it was definitely a show I enjoyed watching and was most likely moved by at times. It was likely missing an important element, or they may have flubbed on an important scene or character or something to make it a truly great show.
9 - You NEED to watch this show. There were minor things that made me rate it a 9 instead of a 10. (For example, I probably didn't like the ending because it caught up to the manga and had to end suddenly. Or there were too many unanswered questions. It could be a lot of things. Too many factors to be stated here.) There was just... something (or a few things) missing. It just fell a little short. Regardless, this show gave me the time of my life.
10 - This is an anime you CANNOT miss out on. Your life will most likely be changed by it. I would not change a thing. You will likely add this to your list of top 10 or 20 anime of all time too. Watch it ASAP. This should be watched by EVERYONE. I loved everything about the anime. How it wrapped up. Absolutely incredible character development. The OST was fantastic. The side characters were not neglected... and so much more. I just... loved it. The biggest thing was that it had a huge emotional impact on me. It also most likely changed my outlook on something, whether it be the world or why people act the way they do, etc.
If it was a psychological anime or a thriller or anything along the lines of that, it had me on the edge of my seat so many times I lost count!

My greatest accomplishment thus far when it comes to anime has to be that I finished marathoning One Piece up to episode 570 on October 27th, 2012. I finished the entire series in around a month and a half-ish. Also when it was revealed that * was gonna be appearing in DressRosa, I read the rest of the manga (I was already in the middle/end of Punk Hazard, and then caught up until the chapter * was revealed) all in one sitting. I read for 7-8 hours straight til I caught up to the latest chapter. I know how long it took me because I was listening to an amazing One Piece OST Compilation on YouTube and it was around 7 hours long. And my eyes were burning for a while after I finished. LOL
I also contributed to MAL submitting the title of One Piece Party to their database!
Also, I did drop the One Piece anime in about the middle of DressRosa. I just can't take Toei anymore. If anyone is thinking about starting One Piece, I HIGHLY recommend you watch up to Fishman Island Arc or until the end of it. DO NOT go forward to the Punk Hazard arc in the anime. Please, just move to the manga from there. (As much as how amazing the voice acting is, everything else is... ugh.)

The problem is sadly that a lot of the ingredients that are in many of the recipes are very hard to find since i'm a westerner. (also my dad does the shopping and he gives up on finding it after 5 mins lol)
But I'll make sure to take a picture the next time i'm trying something out of em.
Im honestly dying to taste the mackerel burger since they say it tastes like a regular one, but im scared since im not the biggest fan of seafood.
Once again thank you!
