Oh Moca, trying to make herself appeal to Mugi.

Date was kinda awkward imo although I have to admit that Moca dressed nicely for the occasion. While I'm not a fan of Moca, the episode did give a fair amount of characterization and screen time for her.

Little Moca is cute~

Well they where almost there and didn't cross the line Moka was serious tho despite the fact they stopped at the last moment.
Maybe they can move on now.
Hanabi learned a lesson as well from the looks of it.

Moca is by far the one who i feel most sorry for. I was really depressed seeing her go down like this.

I'm kinda glad that Mugi realized that what he was doing isn't right. Poor Moca, man.

This was definitely one of the strongest episodes so far. Also new songs were great as well.

Exactly, she was written out because she hurls a huge tonal brick to the face each time she shows up.

When she's given the mental microphone to exposit her thoughts, she is still equally boring. But man her sappy sad emotions don't stack up to the rest. In the end she rejected them only to reject Mugi. This is what we call bipolar behaviour btw, and everyone in the show has exhibited it. Ecchan going back and forth with Hanabi. Hanabi messing with Mugi as she confesses to him, offering herself but then rejecting to Takuya. Akane being bored drunk out of her mind to immediately fuck Kanai, etc. Mugi hasn't been given a real chance yet.

In the meantime. Here's a question: Why did Hanabi and Mugi wait an entire year to confess? Because I don't quite see how the conditions and obstacles have changed. Sure, Hanabi learned that lust isn't the answer(she just doesn't like it for some reason). But what has she learned as human being? How has she progressed away from being the weak willed girl from episode 1? This goes doubly so for Mugi. I'm very curious as to what the answers are, for speculation now.

Soundtrack was amazing this episode.
It was very painful to see things through Moca's eyes. At least she and Mugi didn't do it, I guess?
Let's see how the plan works.
Didn't like the ep as I liked the others for some reason.

Somehow it still feels like Moca has no personality even after having an episode to herself. She never even really gives a reason for why she wants Mugi, and not anyone else. All that she's admitted to is that she likes being pampered.

Me too. I feel that she is the only one who isn´t "scum" in this story. It was really sad to see Mugi rejecting her, but at the same time I'm so glad he did. Finally Moka was able to give up and move on:)

there were a lot of GOD TIER quotes on this episode, was a great episode overall, Moka might be not interesting, yet is not like i disliked the episode due to that, to be honest it was pretty good so far, I think that her situation might be friend zone or something like that, Mugi doesn't sees her like she wanted him to, and her inner self warned her of that... or maybe Mugi didn't want her to suffer. so bad that she's on this world.

I'm starting to think wtf is this anime becoming.
its so unrealistic that i cant help it but it is beautiful nonetheless.
I'm glad they equality cheated on each other without going too far so they can learn from their mistakes and oh god I hope the obvious ending comes through and they end up together if not then at least stay single without showing with whom they end up with.

Moka best girl.

Favorite part of the series. I don't think the writing in any other part of the manga hit me as hard as the contents of ch.28-29 (this episode).

Only wish there was different background music for the "I want to touch him now" bit.

I wanted to write the lots about Moka's feelings and about her letting go of her precious spot in his heart but their short ending talk about their confession just totally overshadowed everything else because of all those implicatians.
O bet she doesn't realizes yet (although she should! but let's call it false hopes) but this would certainly turn into her worst decision yet.

Let's try to predict it, right? They both confess their feelings. Her brother still loves Akane, so he declines. Akane, on the other hand, will gladly accept Mugi's feelings (and Hanabi should know that! I wonder if she has some plan afterall) and they'll sleep with each other but even that wouldn't be enough for Hanabi's brother to accept. In anger she sleeps with that random boy she was hanging around. And when she gets the opportunity to comfort his heartbroken brother in the bed, she backs of again (or even sleeps with him) but in effect she realizes it is really Mugi who she loves for quite some time. But Akane certainly won't be the one to give him out so easily...

Man, no matter what there is some serious drama coming...

They've finally come to a conclusion. Not that confessing and being rejected will solve anything. Though I'm worried Akane will go along with his confession, string him on a little while just to mess with Hanabi more.

Like some said in this thread already, while I'm not a fan of Moca this episode gave her some good characterization.

So they've decided to go through with the confession, and if all fails they might go back to each other.

I'm enjoying this "everyone has some evil in them" approach. It is kind of like a lighter version of Punpun.

My initial thought when I first saw Moca was, "I'm gonna hate this character." But after I saw how this show fleshed out characters so quickly, I hoped Moca would have a darker side after it was her turn for development. And boy, this didn't disappoint. I will sorely miss this show when it ends.

THE OSTs THIS EPISODE THOUGH...SO GOOD!!!

Anyway, this ep made me warm up to Moca. She lives in this little bubble of a daydream where she's a cute, innocent princess who can get by in life with said cuteness. She knows she's special to Mugi & has convinced herself that that's enough- as long as she has the memories, she can continue in her little fantasy land where she's been neither accepted nor rejected.

But ofc Mugi proceeds to not only reject her romantically, but physically as well. He flat out refuses to sleep with her. The princess act backfired I guess.

The whole innocence thing paralleled Hanabi's situation pretty well...since her meek girl act got her rejected too. The only real difference between Hanabi and Moca is that Moca makes it abundantly clear that her self-preening is mainly for herself...not for anyone else.

Hanabi just doesn't value herself enough to do anything other than mentally torture herself and try to seduce men to use as guinea pigs & emotional crutches.

Almost 100% sure that Mugi and Hana are not gonna just get rejected and then start dating like a normal couple.

In fact, I would bet good money on Akane x Mugi doing the hoe-dance together at least once.

Kanai x Hana is a long shot though...it'd pretty much be like the Mugi x Moca thing imo.

glad moca's time in the spotlight is done and over with, she's got the most unrelatable background in this whole series being that her reason for loving mugi isn't even justifiable, but i guess thats anime characterization for you

hanabi x mugi is most interesting to watch, hopefully they can get their hands clean after confessing and start off with a blank slate again

These poor, poor characters—each one is deceptive in their own way. They're struggling with so many conflicting emotions and partners. It's almost getting hard to keep up with everything. It's still a compelling character study, though.

It's definitely true that the OST can make or break your absorption into what's going on. Especially the part where Moca was introspecting about how she gets her way because she's cute, that mood-set was glorious! That naughty-girl tune made me chuckle, it's so delicious~

Seriously though, this anime is so goddamn interesting. We find out that even Moca has more to her than what we thought... There's not a single basic character in this series and it's fantastic.

Hanabi, Ecchan, Moca, i love these girls so much! They're all so delightfully devilish, and could even be saved from their sorrows without losing their naughtiness, which makes it even better!

This anime is killing me. I'm literally like slamming my desk and shouting. It's so GOOD but it keeps fucking with my EMOTIONS, goddammit (and i love it)!

I like how Moca isn't as innocent and goody two shoes as the show first percieved her to be. Using her crocodile tears to manipulate her target, what a brat <3

And also, I think the reason I like all the characters is because I can relate to each of their situations in some way. It's disgusting lol Especially the girls. The wanting to be touched sexually and romantically, the selfishness, greed, and lust for attention. Relating with this show too hard right now.

Mugi: the up and coming fuckboy lol. Litterally almost made me super mad at his character if he had done it with her.

Episode was alright I guess. Didn't like as much as the previous ones. Probably because not enough Hanabi and I don't really care about Moca lel. I just can't stand her AT ALL xD

Hanabi realises how she's turning more and more like Akane. I'm glad Mugi and Hanabi will be finally be telling Kanai and Akane how they feel. Don't think they would get rejected immediately but I do think it's gonna get even more fucked up after they do. I'm curious as to how Kanai would respond to Hanabi's confession. I don't completely understand him. I mean he seems to be the only nice guy in this series but I have a feeling there's got to be more to him. We'll see.

Ah poor Moca, she's the only girl who's actually loved Mugi from the very beginning. I like how people declare that her love for Mugi is unjustified, I mean its not like they haven't been close friends since they were little kids or anything. Its perfectly reasonable to fall for someone you've been so close to your entire life, its no different from Hanabi's love for her Sensei.

Also I hope everyone now realizes Mugi isn't as bad as they projected him to be.

Nice development of Mugi when he doesn't do it with Moca. I guess he realized that he would be doing the same thing that his older friend did to him and would ruin their relationship.

I also highly doubt that Mugi and Hana's plan to confess, get rejected and get together is going to work / end well.

eople writing that Mugi made the right choice or that the fact he "spared" his childhood friend proves he can be a nice guy are occulting his words: the decision was only taken for his own good, he wanted to preserve his little porcelain doll.

3.5+/5 The heroin finally learned something? Good. But I don't see how the correlation with their decision in the last minutes.

@Kittens-kun Do you mean that the reason expressed in his thoughts was only to blind himself about the fact he was acting with her good in mind? (I don't have access to the episode but the reason of his choice is expressed in one of his thoughts lines)

Not a bad episode. But also not a really hyped one. It does give a fair amount for us to get to know Moca. What I kind of confused (maybe...?) is why all the girls who looked innocent and calm at first are actually kinda slut. Well, sorry for the harsh word, but it makes the characters pretty much have the same desire.

Good episode, the angst was really strong this episode, then again it has been throughout the series.

I don't really like how Hanabi is trying to find her worth through other people.

Felt bad for Moca, while she may not be as pure as she was when she was introduced, I still felt bad to see her finally let go of her feelings for Mugi. I'm glad Mugi stopped what he was doing as well.

So finally, both Mugi and Hanabi have decided to confess and try to move on.
