THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

So Mitsuya still works with Masashi but now there's this woman named Kaguya that enters his life. Kinda interesting to see the narrative of how it affects his lifestyle. Kinda obvious that Mistuya has a thing for Kaguya. I'm not sure if he's prepared for a relationship yet though.

The realism of the show remain fluid. The road to building dictionaries isn't easy.

Regarding Kaguya, I kinda like her. She's mature and follows her dreams.

I'm guessing Mitsuya's probably fascinated with words and the written format so much because he's not good at expressing himself verbally. A lot of good writers I see on interviews are very timid and awkward in person.

Anyway, Mitsuya's still a virgin? How old is this guy? Well he better get with Kaguya before he becomes a wizard!

Oh shit, their dictionary might get cancelled. I'm pretty sure that's going to end up NOT happening, but lets see what steps they take to try and get out of this predicament.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

Haha the ED was funny.
Kaguya X Majime confirmed, I hope this results in marriage. Nishioka is Majime's wingman for hooking em up. We need to know Kaguya's age! I hope they reveal it soon.

I really hope they won't be conflict with the dictionary getting canceled. Btw anyone else think this reminds you of Bakuman or is it just me?

Very good episode.

It's funny how all of Majime's co workers are shipping him with Kaguya already. xD
It's nice that Kaguya is also working towards a long term goal just like the Majime and co.

The scene with Majime and Nishioka on the bridge under the full moon was really nice.
Soundtrack is really good.

So the dictionary might be getting cancelled? Let's see how they're gonna stop this from happening.

This anime is going to be on the top in this season.

I can't believe that their dictionary might get cancelled! I have a feeling it won't but it's gonna be interesting how are they gonna react to it and what they will make to fight that decision.

Mitsuya is so cute when he is with Kaguya. I wonder how their relationship will evolve .

I love how realistic this anime is so far, can't wait for the next episode!

Excellent episode.
I really loved the OST in the first half of the episode, very good!
Can't say yet that I really love the MC but he become more and more likable, especially when he is so obsessed with words. Almost makes me want to read a dictionary.

I'm not so fond of how everyone went "oh so you love her" and tried to get him to see the girl that same night. Looked a little unrealistic to me, or just very immature and the characters and the show don't give off that vibe at all, so I really didn't expect that.

Japanese people are curious about your love life but there's always a strong sense of privacy so they won't just keep asking and stick their nose where it doesn't belong to no end.
So blurting out that the new coworker is a virgin and deciding that his confused new feelings must be "love" without his consent... like what the hell?

Poor Majime he never spoke up for himself, not during his morning "chat" with Kaguya nor at the meeting where his romantic and sexual life were suddenly turned into the topic of the day.

I enjoyed the episode, but the romantic side of it -and the behaviour of the characters not even involved in the romance- is leaving me a bit perplexed.

I'm happy with the pacing here, I feel like a lot of slice of life/drama anime tend to drone on and drag a bit, but this one just goes right into it. I was half expecting Majime to be questioning what the hell it was he was feeling for Kaguya for a good half of the anime, but thankfully we have Masashi around to help him get a clue.

It was nice to get into Masashi's head a little more this ep, and it's nice to see that both him and Majime are slowly learning things from one another. The bromance is already blossoming!

I do hope more people pick this anime up, because it seems to have slipped through the radar a little- I've heard barely anyone talking about it!

I really really like Kaguya's character. She's pursuing a dream and seems like a very strong woman. It's also funny that Majime's coworkers are trying so hard to help push his and Kaguya's relationship forward.

Well remember this is fiction, so it's a) for humor (creator's sense of...?) and b) not real life. Japanese fiction and real life are very different lol. Nishioka would have his ass fired by now if it was irl and potentially hated by everyone, not making them laugh.

But I agree about MC. I felt really bad for Majime having no say in anything, pretty rude imo. Didn't enjoy this episode much since I'm not really interested in the romantic focus (and poor Majime), although I do think Kaguya is a good match for him if it ends up that way.

The initial poster might have given off that feeling, because I thought there would be a lot fujo pandering too. On a different note, I'm impressed how good the animation is. Looks like the staff is really interested in working on this show.

It's really tough the narrative, not because of the complexity, but because of the very slow pace and lack of moments that give involvement. You get to see the work the characters, but I did not believe it opened, in the plot, even a loving brackets; it seems to me premature, but not yet judge, appearance future events to express myself on the subject. Even if briefly, the story gave us some new elements to learn more about the characters, I hope does not end here their characterization. Drawings and animations, good.

Romance did seem a little forced. I found it quite funny how his co-workers are discussing it like they're already together when Majime has hardly said a word to her. XD

I love how central Nishioka's role is in the department and Majime's progression. Of course, all these points are very obvious but they're delivered in such a patient way!

After 3 episodes, you must think this is a dark horse. Sure, the entire plot and setting are mediocre but with enough drama and feels, this could just contend with Yuri on Ice and others for anime of the season.

(For those wondering, you can watch it on Amazon Prime and Kissanime. I already got Prime so I'm good.)

fear me, wretched nobs and clods alike, for i am fabulous - nyan.

Ok I really like the main theme and topic of this anime. I love reading materials to be focused on after all. But what I cannot stand is loser and sluggish characters like Majime. I don't care what kind of life and experiences he has had, he is just pathetic if he cannot even greet someone while meeting. He literally stood there without a word. Clumsy fool.

I love how it is realistic, it was a great episode. It was so funny to see Majime sad in the street. I hope Kaguya will fall in love of Majime, but not too fast because it felt too forced this episode.

all that philosophizing in the previous couple episodes about the dictionary being a boat and whatnot was supposed to explain the significance behind the dictionary, i think. they think dictionaries are important for people to be able to properly convey what they're feeling to each other, so they're committed to creating a dictionary that's modern and encompasses a broad range of important concepts~

Same here.
Intruding in the private life of a coworker that nonchalantly doesn't feel realistic at all. If it's a joke! Wow! I didn't get it.

I also have a problem with the mentality exposed here which is your partner must fit with your work and not the other way around, that might be what one calls japanese life's priority. I noticed that in other animes so I suppose it's realistic. Work is more important than the loved-ones. That and the statement you won't go on holydays if you do a dictionary!!! ... during ten years!!! Is that legal? Or maybe another joke I didn't understand.

On the paper, I thought I would love this show but I'm not so sure anymore.

Side-note : it's just my taste of course but the Opening theme of the show is probably the worst of the millenium, the first seconds above all. I cringe and get panic attack every time.

It may be interesting to watch an adult guy who never was in any relationship falling in love for the first time. I mean - we saw it many times in school romances but it's different of course.

I admire Kaguya, she's a cook and still looks so skinny - I don't think I' be able to stay fit with all the food lying in front of me, just waiting for me to taste it XD

For some reason for the whole toilet scene I was sure that Nishioka will stand up and go ask those guys about details.

Again, really nice work done for the characters expressions.
Lol at Majime walking with his head bent, hitting a pole, and then bowing to apologize. Also, his reaction to seeing the word 'love' XD

Nishioka is apparently a restaurant know-it-all kind of person. :P

No, doubt it will turn that way. I've seen the trailer for the Fune wo Amu film and it was just the relationship between Mitsuya and Kaguya... But guess what? The character designer is a BL mangaka (Kumota Haruko). That's a fun fact for you.

Was worried what if because of Kaguya, Majime lost his concentration and make a mistake in labeling which might need re-checking again but with what was said in the last scene that had me worried more.

Speaking of labeling I wonder what would happen if there really was mistake in either categorizing or inputting. With that much words would they just leave it be or they would have to re-check everything?

And I personally think that Majime deciding that Kaguya is the partner that he wants and how everyone decided to support him just goes way too fast (o_O) !
