| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Wrestling fan here. I had to watch this to see how what wrestling is like in anime form. So far, it impressed me despite my initial underwhelming impression of the animation quality. They didn't waste time getting straight to the ring and violence. I think take the idea of wrestling into a more extreme way but I thought overall was pretty entertaining. A lot man service in this and pretty much focused wrestling all the way in the ring so far. Action felt a bit fast imo so might have to get used to that. |

| Didnt expected to be this good. Watched the original series with my brother when I was young, and this is really refreshing. Really liked the first episode and I think for now we have the best ED of the season. |
| Well that was a really fun first episode and honestly way more entertaining than anything New Japan's done in the past few months. I imagine it will be better than Seka De Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai (where I did like the actual wrestling but the amount of borderline hentai ruined it for me) but probably not as good as Kinnikuman in terms of wrestling animes. |

| I'll admit I don't watch wrestling but I'm someone who respects fans of it and understands why people watch it. This whole episode I couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear. Is it really dumb? Most defiantly. Is the animation dodgy at times? You bet. But I can't help but enjoy watching it. |

| when i heard about Tiger Mask W i was thrilled because i'm a huge fan of Tiger Mask Nisei, so watching the first episode brought back good memories <3 i like how they used the same old ost ( its slightly modified but it can be easily recognized if you're familiar with TM2 ) i'm gonna keep watching this for the sake of the old days ^^ |

| I don't usually watch wrestling, so I don't know so much about the whole system and everything. However, this episode surpassd my expectations with a solid backstory and a fluent animation. I like the oldschool style of songs and character designs - reminds me of Ushio to Tora - *chuckle. chuckle* |
| Fucking awesome, both Ep and OP. Definitely feels a bit fast paced though, and the animation is serviceable. Looking forward to meatier matches. |

| I have been waiting to see Tiger Mask ever since I finish Watching Ashita no Joe and gotta say this was awesome. I am loving it so far it has that shoeon feel that have been missing, Form what i got form it this show will be lots of fun and it has lost of MANLY moments. |
| Tiger Mask and Time Bokan huh, neat to see what they both have to offer for the season. As far as the first episode goes, it was pretty okay. I'm not a fan of wrestling but I think I can give this shot and watch it for awhile. It'll be good to compare this with the original series once it's concluded. |

| Wow, this moved fast pretty quick. I never watched the original so I have no clue how it fares or connects. But it seems to deliver in action and plot. Though some stuff really looks exaggerated. A wrestler that arm thrusts a bear into submission? Where the heck do you see that in the human world? What are wrestler a synonym of super hero now? Also I kinda found funny how some stuff was exaggerated like "You're gonna get the Tiger's Execution" and Odin shat on his pants. Like ok I get it, you're gonna get killed, but it sounded like he was gonna get murdered in the worst of the worst of the worst ways known to humankind and hell alike. And it seems next episode we're gonna jump straight into conflict with the two leads facing each other without knowing who they are (which seems will be one of the central themes here). Let's see where this takes us. |

| I can't get that ending song out of my head... KING OF THE WILD WILD WILD! is adictive. I really love how bizarre this show is... transitions, reactions, ridiculous speech, is the old school all over again. That opening song gave me a tokusatsu feeling. |

| To be honest... this is so addicting, but at the same time cringy as hell. It gives me such an 80s vibe like Karate Kid did back then. Anyway, I really like Tiger Mask, but it's still so awkward at some points. xD |

Also is this a remake of the orginal or new season ? Nope, it's a new story. Not sure if same universe, so maybe some old cameos who knows. It was pretty fun, kinda shocking for Toei. After Sailor Moon Crystal and Dragon Ball Super, you'd expect it to look like shit as well, but the art direction and animation were pretty good for a Toei show. Lets just hope the next episodes don't drop the quality hard though. The idea with two Masks sounds interesting, I guess the characters will have some relation like Kira and Athrun from Gundam Seed lol. |

| Was a fan of Tiger Mask Nisei and I was really looking forward to this one. It's not a reboot of the first Tiger Mask and we're not sure if it's a sequel, but I enjoyed the first episode. It's violent and the art style is of my liking. Only thing I didn't like was intro. I don't mind and updated version of the original Tiger Mask theme, but this one didn't impress me. I prefer the Animetal version over it. |

| Haha this is so ridiculous, a world where wrestling is not scripted and they wrestle bears and tigers, watched some episodes here and there of the original series in my childhood. Shame that Okada and Tanahashi aren't voiced by their real selves, they should incorporate more of today's NJPW's wrestlers and have Tiger Mask run though them or something, they're more "over" than all these fictional/old wrestlers no one cares about/remembers, imagine Bullet Club as antagonists in this anime.  |

| As a pro wrestling fan, the journey of the Tiger Mask character, and how it transitioned from screen to real life, has always interested me. That was one of the reasons I decided to watch this new anime adaptation. The portrayal of pro wrestling is distinctly Japanese here, as is to be expected, but still very atmospheric, which should work well in giving both fans and non-fans of the sport a taste of what such as spectacle is like. The villains are also fascinating even at this point , especially Yellow Devil with his clearly callous attitude. The next episode seems to be expanding the hero team so I'll be looking forward to that! |

| Guys can I watch this without viewing the prequels? I hear they don't have complete translations. This episode was entertaining despite knowing nothing about the series. Yeah WWE and TNA are scripted but that didn't hinder my enjoyment for this. |

| Kazuchika Okada? Dude, I marked out so hard. I wonder what kind of deal is between NJPW and Toei. Now, I dont really know how should I go with this anime. It is a pro wrestling, but not like in reality. Its real, not scripted and I dont know how to deal with it. No entrance music for wrestlers, not even one try for pin... We didnt see a lot of moves and that wrestling announcer sucked balls. Not to mention that main event. Three moves, thanks for your money dear crowd, go fuck yourself. ED is good though. I will try to not compare it with real pro wrestling and I hope there will be mah boi Kenny Omega next time. <3 |

| Now that was awesome. Still a little vague what exactly the story is, but man this was entertaining as all hell. The ending is super addictive. KING OF THE WILD WILD WILD! I never understood the appeal of wrestling, but in anime they can make any sport seem awesome, especially when it's as campy as this. |
| oh it's an adaptation of a super old manga.. no wonder it gave me an old school feel. I decided to watch this with no expectations but it surprisingly kept me well entertained. for some reason it gave me a nostalgic feeling?? probably because I watched pro (fake) wrestling growing up , hahah. |
