As with the Oingo Boingo Brothers' name-retention, this also caught me off-guard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9-f3PR9ZcE
Toonami advertising the Egypt saga (as they call it) of Stardust Crusaders instead of just more DBS episodes. They didn't have to do this practically at all, yet they did anyway.
So, well, I thought this was kinda cool
Also sorry it seems I just keep spamming your page full of Jojo nonsense QωQ it is a fantastic series after all
Indeed. The fact it has taken this long has got to mean they'll be putting extra work into it. Plus, this as well: https://twitter.com/seekerofthevoid/status/940918332534022144 (not big on Twitter but I don't know from where else to provide all this info lol)
And now the next Rohan OVA which will mimic more of the Part 7 art style
After the first episode I don't even want to mention what went down... *face-paws utterly*
But after Dio became a vampire and Zeppeli came along with Hamon/The Ripple people have been calling it the more intriguing show out of anything else on there, thank the lord!
I actually don't have cable/satellite myself, so I watch it on a stream that I could point out to you if you're ever interested~ Also, they broadcast the Blu-ray versions of every anime
The ratings were a bit off this weekend possibly due to Thanksgiving, so I'll see how that fares next week. Although JoJo HAS been averaging a million views which I think is good for it. DBZ Kai airs first before it averaging at least 200k more views. This could all change of course!
OH and also at the end of the year before marathons occur Toonami's gonna air/debut two JoJo episodes (The Final Ripple & New York's JoJo) side-by-side since Gundam IBO is done before that
They are just fine for the most part. But yeah I think Joseph with purple hair would have been more dazzling for me. I also would have preferred Josuke to be more purple, rather than indigo, with a pink 'heart' in that open part of his school uniform just like in the anime's promotional images - and same with Oku. Just as I saw them in the colored scans
And only now I'm just barely seeing peeps commenting on how Josuke reminds them of Joseph...um, what about this?? http://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1022250-jojo-s-bizarre-adventure (even without the hair, and not to mention a number of other instances at the beginning)
By the way one of my good friends introduced me to JoJo a good few years before the anime had been introduced back when I was in high school. I believe he had been collecting the last few volumes being released stateside.
Only recently I asked him, "So, what is your favorite part of JoJo?"
Lo and behold he said it was between parts 3, 4 and 5 (and since it was those days he defo had been reading the Duwang scans) :3
Same thing happened to one of my favorite characters in (another shonen) Hunter x Hunter, Neferpitou. He starts off with a small nose (that's barely visible from the front) and scraggly hair with an (imo, more-striking) ambiguous male design but then his ribbon (of royalty?) gets torn up in a fight, and at some point he looks more feminine. The anime just immediately chose the latter design and it makes /his/ look feel kinda plain as hell to me :/ http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/hunterxhunter/images/c/c7/Pitou's_differences.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130927171303 (there might be better examples to show) I dunno...it's like (s)he has become just your typical nekomimi in the anime! It is not for this shot, but at least they mostly got the eyes right. Similar problem with a couple more characters.
Anyway!
Eh...the triangle noses took me some getting used to even after finishing up DiU. In the manga, you see the first true hint of them (from where they start to stick around) around the Alessi and Daniel J. D'Arby scuffles. I would guess Araki put those line-ridges there as some weird divide between the bone and cartilage? :0
It's an interesting design-choice to say the least, but I do prefer the rounded/natural-looking ones
These were part of my initial reading experience. You see, once I got more into what I was reading I actually went back and read it all more cohesively. I've even been considering getting most of the JoJoniums! So I agree, the early-Araki-art is my favorite of his as well (and certain chapters per every other volume you see the shading kick into high gear - the ones featuring special cover-page artwork, and I may have memorized each moment this takes place). For Part 3 the anime immediately went with the SC-DiU hybrid design (late Part 3/early Part 4) and it just made things look very...plastered for the most part?
So, for certain I'm not saying the manga's character art was ever bad before Part 5.
Would be nice if every character from each season thus far got the Iggy/Koichi treatment where the art morphed 1:1 as it did in the manga XD Such is the way of newer anime where everything /must/ remain on-model I suppose

Got Phantasy Reverie on Steam. Been meaning to play this for 7 years now
Klonoa's got my heart, too

Anyway, I managed to get the first PB JoJonium + the first 3 (of 4) BT JoJoniums along with the JoJo 6251 artbook (which is as old as I am)
Also, apparently Kars's English-dub voice actor is/was (not quite sure yet) a performing arts instructor at the college I go to.
A bit too soon to compare a JoJo big bad to an American president, hmm?

Anyway I've been going on the Toonami stream to chat as the episodes play out and see people's initial thoughts & reactions to what they're seeing
