Pretty tense match.

It felt almost like a mind game between the two sides..
And more so, we got Furuya who seems to fired up but I feel like he is also struggling a bit inside. At least their coach knows what's up and their teammates are putting faith into him. I think Seido still has a decent chance to win.

That last scene of Furuya though :O

No, i hope its bad. Only way for Sawamura to get screentime.
He's hurt obviously and he's pushing it, lucky for us. :D

I'm just bored of seing Furuya 24/7 at this point. A whole episode of the character that steals the main characters screentime? No thanks. Its been done over and over, he's not even fun to watch.

Until when is Sawamura going to be a comedy relief for the anime? Will he always be a tool to level Furuya up as well?

I don't want to see Furuya no Ace, I want to watch Diamond no Ace, and this diamond refers to Sawamura, you shitheads.

This is frustrating as fuck. Wish they would concede 4 runs and substitute him and NOT because of this silly injury, because Sawamura doesn't need this shit device to be ace.

I was thinking here that it would've been better if Sawamura switched schools because this is tiresome. +100 episodes and the guy is still considered number 2 and at this pace it'll always be like that...

I am up to date with the manga now they are in Daiya No A ACT II, Sawamura is still a comedy relief his teammates and coach treat him mostly as joke in the bullpen while Furuya wowed everyone..

am seriously consider dropping the manga right now.

As much as I like Sawamura pitching, being able to pitch only due to the ace's injury just doesn't sound right. Sawamura has to earn the spot himself as to be the best pitcher in the team. A recurring injury doesn't sound good at all... even if Furuya has the will of a true ace at the moment. Again, kind of like Tanba's injury giving the first-years a huge opportunity already from before... Seido just isn't Seido without the rivalry at this stage of time. An invisible hand bringing Sawamura to the mound, now that's convenient!

Seiko being extremely strong in the late innings, Seido has to prevail in the offensive side soon. For the first time, curious on just how far Furuya can pitch.

I really hope Furuya will fail, even if i don't want Sawamura to become the ace because of that.
It's fucking annoy me even more than before, to see Furuya as the ace and to see him becoming more powerfull and important, when Sawamura just started to become a little stronger.
It's just like "jdsdfjokfoejioso", the typical rage where you tap everything on your computer, because you have no word and you are just a fucking child.
Right now i really feel like this, Ace of diamond is one of my favorite anime with Major.
And it's horrible to see Furuya more and more on the top scene, with flame in his ace, like he his the "main character" and not Sawamura.
Even Sawamura don't have an aura (i'm talking about a drawed aura, not an aura that push the team higher and that you can't see, as a spectator of the anime/manga), and everything.

Just, if you want Furuya to be the ace the whole time, don't make Eijun the principal character anymore, but pls, stop my and Eijun suffering.

Yep, I kinda agree that Furuya is put way too much forward and Sawamura starts to be more pitiful than funny.

I'm not even sure why to be honnest. Sawamura had one chance, he took it and did an amazing job, but no, it's still Furuya who's "becoming the ace" whenever I don't even feel that he fulfills the role. He's totally egoist, plays only for himself while Sawamura has a total comprehension of what a "team" represents. He's always cheering up. On the other hand, when Sawamura played a whole match, Furuya was alone, sulking without any sign of encouragement.

And anyway, Sawamura is the main character from the start, obviously we want him to do a nice performance, but..."Furuya! Furuya! Furuya!"

Well if people think this is bad then i guess people will literally flip tables/punch their screen when Furuya come in in the last inning and steal all the glory from Kawakami and Sawamura,

Furuya pitch in one inning against the opponent bottom line up order, and get all the praise.

Right about now, am getting more and more pissed with every going episode, i did not watch this anime to see Furuya. I never liked him, still don't. This is ridicolous, Eijun is basically getting more and more away from Furuya. It was so great to see that Eijun started to grow with the break-ball, 2 episodes later Furuya got his own version which is just as much viable as Eijun's. Furuya no ace is the real name of the anime, i think the author hates Sawamura :/

Just like @MeinKeiser said, I read a few weeks ago in the discussion section that in the current chapters in the manga Kataoka still treats Sawamura like a way just to boost Furuya (you guys remember when Ochiai said that and he didn't deny, right?).

This hurts a lot. Like the friend above said, when Sawamura did an amazing pitching for the whole game and when he got his new pitch we were hyped, but a couple episodes later Furuya GOT A NEW PITCH AS WELL AND EVERYONE TALKS HOW HE IS ACTING LIKE A REAL ACE. So wait, Sawamura was reliable as fuck but he will never be a true ace?

Sawamura helps the team as whole, he is a good player and he is sympathetic, while Furuya is selfish and boring as fuck. He is no Goro, but it seems the author thinks otherwise and decided to make this Furuya no Ace after all...

Am I mad? Oh my...

It never bothered much before but this is now finally starting to piss me off... Seriously Sawamura did his best and even played a whole game with a good score so I don't get why he's treated like that. Poor him.

Furuya acting as if he's the only one who can do it doesn't sit me well either >< Why are the team being so damn impressed by it? Good to have confidence but that also means he think Sawamura and Nori sucks...

Nah that won't happen. Kataoka didn't take Tanba off as ace when he was injured for how many matches...he didn't even pitch until the finals of the summer tournament. Kataoka would not change the ace just because of Furuya's injury.

I totally agree, I think Furuya's "I want to take the team to nationals" is not the same as Eijun's. He still thinks more about himself than the team, and it's as you said, it's easily seen in contrast of when Eijun cheers for the team versus when Furuya is just silently staring into the field on the bench. I know Furuya is the introverted/stoic type, but there's a limit to that when you're on a team. It doesn't hurt to say good luck, or good job, nice play, etc. He doesn't have to say it all the time, but once or twice would show that he's at least a supportive member even on the bench.

The reason why Major will always beat Diamond no Ace = Furuya.

God, I hate this character so much. I understand that the main character, Sawamura, needs a rival that he has to overcome. But they drag the shit out of this. And hearing from guys that read the manga, that its getting even worse, does not help at all...

How far ahead is the manga? I saw that people are saying things haven't changed yet and Furuya is still #1 in the manga but how many episodes ahead is the manga right now? I don't know if I can wait for the main character to get screen time any longer.

SPOILER ALERT

DON'T BLAME ME, I SAID ABOVE THAT IT'S A "SPOLER".

Sorry boys and girls, I know this this will spoil the anime in the upcoming episode and such, but it really frustrates us much to see Furuya taking the screen time once more when Sawamura finally getting his much deserve spotlight back in a few episodes. But to raise our hopes and dreams on seeing Sawamura becoming an ace on later episodes in the anime and the chapters in the manga, The BAKA BOWL III is definitely gonna happen. Well you've seen the OP in the anime where Raichi takes the plate and Sawamura is pitching against him. The much awaited summer revenge of Sawamura against Raichi's Homerun. I can't tell much about the details of the match because, well this is Sawamura we're talking about. Once he stands on the mound, tissues are needed for the FEELS. As much as we want to see him becomes the TRUE ACE OF SEIDOU, I'm pretty sure we won't be able to see him that early. It took Naruto a whole 700+ chapters to reach his dream of becoming a Hokage, a hundred+ chapter to attain his strongest jutsu, and a hundred+ chapter to become a badass. It will take a hundred+ chapter for Sawamura to become the Ace of Seidou or he might transfer to another school because of unforeseen circumstances plot twist. This plot twist might become one of the best plot twist in manga history lol. As for now, as a fellow Sawamura follower, admirer and fan, let's be patient and follow his painful pathway on becoming an ace. This guy takes the cake after Kamina of boosting everyone around him and THE FRIGGING FEELS, OH THE FEELS. His changeup made me cry so much that it's not even a drama anime. Dang. So, let's patiently and faithfully wait for the time when he becomes the Ace of Diamond. I'm pretty sure it will come in the Act II.

at the spring koushien he will stand in the bullpen as he saw furuya impressed everyone in the stadium.. by the end sawamura take the dirt from the bullpen as memento instead from the mound as a symbol of his disappointment

Furuya dubbed as seidou ace
Furuya dubbed as the best pitcher in japan after the guy who beat narumiya team in the summer koshien
Furuya was crowded by reporter

So far so good for Furuya. Just like Miyuki said he's starting to become more and more like a true ace. Hope his injury doesn't become to serious. Would rather see Sawamura become the Ace by surpassing Furuya if he manages to become the ace at all.

Since a lot of people complain about Furuya, I feel like it's better this way, it's much more entraining to see the underdog climb his way too the top. I dont' care how long it takes but as long as he becomes the Ace, whether it will be in school or the pros, I'll be fine with that.

Furuya is my favorite but I still love Sawamura so much and enjoy seeing them both pitch since they're like the opposites of each other just like what Miyuki said. I don't mind any of them being the ace because they're both fit for it. Their rivalry is amazing and healthy, why don't you just enjoy it? >_>
all of Furuya haters are Sawamura biased. DnA gives screen time to all of the characters but you guys only complain when it's given to Furuya who is supposed to be a main character and NOT a supporting character.. and of course those who want to see ONLY Sawamura pitch will misunderstand Furuya's character and ignore his background

Eijun surpassing Furuya is a part of his journey. They are very different pitchers with different styles. Eijun's style is simply not the best match up to a team like Seiko.

I really like Furuya. He has a lot of natural talent, but doesn't simply rely on it; he works hard to improve himself and be a reliable member of the team just like everyone else. He's a good rival for Sawamura and acknowledges that Eijun is a serious threat. Seeing Sawamura struggle and fight his way to the ace role is much more interesting and satisfying than him being a genius and automatically getting what he wants. (*cough*Major*cough*Kuroko*)

Some of you act like you expect Eijun to become the ace, be Seido's only pitcher, win nationals, and get scouted to go pro, all within his first year. Chill. He'll get there, and when he does, he'll be a beast.
