| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Mm, quite a bunch of illusion scenarios in this episode. I guess it was kinda neat to see Asuramaru a bit this episode as well because of the ceremony. Too bad we won't find out exactly what he means about Yu's humanity yet. Action picked up in the second half while it was mostly mindfuck the first half. Somewhat balanced I guess. We'll probably see more of his physical development soon at this rate. Glad to see animation improved this week. Cute sword Yuu  |

| Showing when Nobu's character's sister got killed, as well as other's memories. It's start of their test by the oni. It seems like Megane guy obtained his oni sword faster than main guy. Nobu's character is too weak, though, and need to finish oni-lized him. Even Hayami-san's character agrees with their idea about not wanting to finish him. He somehow overcame and regained conscious. It's their turn to fight with the vampires, including main guy's ex-family... for the first time after obtaining oni swords. |

| So as expected they all made it, though Yoichi needed a bit of help. I think I saw the vampire that killed his sister in that end group. Seems like he may get the chance to avenge her soon. Good episode. |

| I really do like the demon illusions that this series uses. Other than that, I wonder what the 10% of Yu that is non-human is going to turn out to be? I'm guessing it will have something to do with that Seraph Of The End thing that was mentioned a couple of episodes back, but I could be wrong. |

| Best episode since the first one imo. Yu wasn't saying "I live for revenge" 24/7 this episode so that's a real plus. And looks like Mika will finally fight next episode... ohhh this gonna be good! |
| This episode was actually good for once. Yoichi is off my hate list, I like him a lot more now. Actually, the only characters I don't like are Yu (he was actually less annoying this episode, shocking) and Vampire Queen Loli. My complaint from last week was fixed too, the Vampires in that military plane looked so badass, unlike the ones we've seen in the past. therandomestguy said: I was kind of confused. | Yuu's in trouble while is desire is what keeps him straight, the demon almost made it seem that Yuu's balance is barely there. The demon taking a liking on Yuu is interesting, though. On the other hand, Yoichi gets rejected for lacking true desire, meaning some desires grants the strength to fight their weaknesses. That 10%, I would be disappointed if it was vampire or demon, as the demon stated non-human and telling Yuu that humans are worst than vampires and demons. It almost is trying to say that it is something else, or the demon is just trying to play the "mysterious" card. Looking forward to some front line action. |

From what I understood, even though he didn't have the negative feelings of lust (revenge-wise) the demon was searching for, he still managed to tap into the demon's hatred of people who are too pure. Like the demons said in this episode, they hate love but love lust/hate. There's no human who doesn't have any negative feelings at all, especially ones who have been through some traumatic things like Yu, Yoichi and Kimizuki. This is just my supposition but the demons need to feel like their own lust for negative feelings will be satisfied even if the wielder isn't swallowed by those negative feelings. I'm probably explaining myself wrongly :heh |

I think it has to do more with mental and emotional strength. And Yuu wants revenge, but at the same time he wants to protect his current comrades too. Also, I guess that demons just want entertainment to an extent. Ashuramaru tried to take over, but Yuu was too strong. As long as he stays that way, he'll entertain himself with his situation. He's also not fully human, so that probably helps. Edit: As for the others, Yoichi realized that he wanted to protect his comrades. Cliche, but true. This brought him mental strength, I guess? A bit weak, but I'll take it. As for Kimizuki, he's a bit like Yuu, but he also has seemingly raw intelligence from how I see it. This helped him deduce the situation faster and overcome it, I guess. It could also be that the demon he was facing wasn't as strong as Ashuramaru or isn't as picky as Ashuramaru. Demons have different personalities too. |

| Okay, having just read all the current manga this anime is about to fire at 100%. I really liked this episode a lot, the animation was smooth but Im still not a fan of Yoichi, even in the manga I couldn't grow to like the character. Plus, I'm a sucker for Yu's badass sword/demon I'm so looking forward to a few scene's when they get turned into anime form, I hope they look as badass..Am I the only one who is in love with the background in this, damn it's just too sexy.. |

| Can I just explicitly mention how much I love Glen- I mean, Guren? He's actually my favorite character right now (though I love Yuu and Mika as well, of course). Even if he's twisted, I think he'll remain my favorite unless he really pisses me off or disappoints me. He also seems really strong, and he's quite cool honestly. I don't think I'm the only one that likes him this much, but it would be sad if I am... Also, I really hope that there is a good ending to this. Aldnoah.Zero and Tokyo Ghoul disappointed me personally, so I'm hoping for something good for this at least. And... Can Mika/Yuu be a thing? Please? I would love it if that actually happened for once, even if it's light. Sorry, I am admittedly a fujoshi. Don't mind me too much. I'm just letting my fantasies wander out of my mind. |

| Yoichi finally stopped being such wimp. Anyway, Yuu, Kimizuki and Yoichi got their own demon weapon. They'll be fighting in the front lines already. Mika and the other vampires engaging to Tokyo. Will him and Yuu meet? I hope so. Looks like the action I've been waiting for will start next episode. |
| Slightly predictable, (we knew they'd succeed) but I enjoyed it. I was also under the impression that Yoichi would be the strongest. While the episode was slightly predictable: the art, emotion, and pacing was relatively well done (in my opinion). I also think it was necessary to help move the story into position for some hopefully awesome battle scenes. Looking forward to next week! |

| Maybe it's because of Yoichi, but alright episode. Asuramaru makes their appearance and they test out their weapons for the first time. Guren's nonchalant attitude is a bit irritating. I do like how they're adding a bit to the relationship between him and Shinoa for some foreshadowing, though. |

| This episode really disappointed me. It was so straight forward that it shocked me. The rival gets his contract first. Ihe timid guy is emotionally the weakest and of course he gets possessed. Then he's rescued with the power of friendship. Much original. Very shounen. Wow. And the commander somehow predicted ALL of this. He must be some sort of insanely genius übermensch to do that. This is like something from an ancient manga. |
