I kinda feel sorry for the princess in a way I guess.

The festival looked fun in a way. Meh, the wedding pose felt out of place. It's a damn trap LOL. Number 0's arrival wasn't pleasant though and neither was that rage. Despair all over yo

The parade of Bladefield looks promising, I have this WTF face when Megumi is in a bride form and Souta in a groom form XD. Hakua seems to be troubled but everyone manage to cheer her up.

No. 0 is a mysterious one, she doesn't seem that bad, well considered that she saved the 3 from the previous episode. Though Souta has some intense breakdown now....

A lot happened. The Council of Seven Virtues! Number Zero!
The king was not the father of Nanami and Hakua? The assassination attempt to just get the crowned prince to the throne. I wonder if the crowned prince killed the king.
The legend about a boy becoming a flag to save the princesses... the encounter with Number Zero was pretty interesting.
That suicide attempt... the inevitable death flag. The council is quite loyal to this world.

Okay... This show seriously needs to stop getting dark near the end of every episode. It freaked me out lol.

I'm not sure how much I'm enjoying this... seeing that at the end of a comedy gives me mixed feelings.

Good episode. I like the heavy burden girl flag. Poor Souta Hakua trusted him way too fast. Man it got serious so fast yet again near the end especially after the credits. I can't wait for the next episode already!

This show tries so hard to be dark and edgy, it's sad really :(

Why does Souta care about anyone other than his family that died?
No, really, does anyone care about someone other than your family and friends :O
I would have given very litlle sh!t about the people who died on the ship, my condolences and a R.I.P maybe, but that's about it.

Souta is going to die now? (doubt it)

The masked girl I guess is Nanami (or a Nanami of another time), because there is too much coincidence, how is that possible that she's the only one that can't be flag'd?

Btw Hakua is fucking annoying.

The fact that you end up being ostracized by the world just cause you are the only survivor is not that strange really...
If the world keeps saying you are guilty of a tragedy like this where everyone dies but only you end up alive, at some point you will subconsciously accept that they are somehow right, and that you should either tried to save someone else or die trying...
Sad but somehow based on a true premise.... since this is how human mind works: Some want to blame something, some end up being sacrificed

I'm not going to defend this show, since I honestly believe the story although interesting is somehow strange with all the fluffy-duffy being paired up with a darker story still unfolding, a story that without the fluffy-duffy girls had everything to be pretty dark and full of betrayal and sacrifice, with multiple time routes running simultaneously...
If he is gonna die, doubt it, it seems it happened in the past, everybody will probably avoid that fate this time around...

ichii_1 said:

Actually we already saw he had a sister since the boat flashback... remember that he talked to the sister before playing the game with Sakura (Sacrament) and gaining the flag watching skill...

All in all, I'm still waiting to see what this show will bring us!!

This show keeps getting darker and darker every episode though. Imo it's fine for this show to become a dark show.. at least it's not just a worthless Harem anime..

Those mysteries... it makes me so curious... for me this show gets better every ep...

Lol... welcome to Souta's Harem, Hakua-chan :3

I thought this episode was rather poor.
It felt rushed with to much things happening and it had a lot of forced drama.
I have read the manga up till this point and there are some major differences especially the pace everything is going with but the second part of the episode was new to me.
Hope next week will slow down a bit and be an improvement compared to this one.

Judging from the clifhanger we will get to see Souta's sister next week.

Hmm, it was developed too quickly... I mean the so called brother was introduced like 5 minutes into the episode then 3 minutes later, he is proved to be their father. Not very convincing.

Megumu as princess <3 Just stop with "Desu ka. Desu ka."

Damn, I wanted them to do that "circle friendship" thing. I loved how it got serious near the end.

I thought this was your typical romcom with a pinch of danger sprinkled in the form of looming doom (the death flags), but this show is slowly getting more and more serious...maybe a little too fast. Under the harem facade and trap jokes; is talk of suicide, depression to the point of mental instability in Hatate Souta, survivor-shaming, political assassinations of the princesses, and themes of self-sacrifices.

Question: Was it even necessary to have those two girls as the 13th and 14th Princesses? I mean, yeah if they were the next two in line to the throne, they'd be in a lot more danger. But seeing as it seems like everyone in the Royal family and beyond had already known about that fact, was it really necessary to hide it from the people and from the girls themselves?

I don't understand how they can just take it as is and move on so fast?

I love this show a lot for the comedy and the silliness, but seriously that was a bit too much.

I welcome the new princess character into the harem, I also get the feeling that Number Zero will end up jumping on Souta in the end as well.

Just like in the anime, there was indeed the reference to a sister during the boat flashback.

In fact, she even has a bigger appearance on the manga, since the anime we only see him talk to her once (I don't wanna lie, but I believe in the manga she appears in 4 panels, but this requires a check, so don't fully trust me on this number).

The question now is, the anime on this episode already passed over the current translated manga
(that information about the princesses being daughters of the prince and the talk between Souta and Zero was already a surprise) so how do you think the story is going to unfold now?

There's no name...

You see, a new chapter of the translated manga came out today, and since I'm a blockhead I decided to take the time to check this on the manga.
So I can safely say that we only saw her legs and feet on chapter 6 page 10 (image here), followed by a few references to her in the same chapter at page 29, 30 and 31 (image here, here and here) where it seems he tries to remember but somehow fails.

However this is the most important reference of them all on chapter 10 page 22 (image here) since it implies that she's missing and that "someone" erase his sister existence from everyone memories.

So I must do the mea culpa right now, and assume that I was wrong when I said she had appeared more in the manga than in the anime.... seems like her appearance was very mysterious in both situations...

Yap, I edited the previous post to make it clearer, but the fact as it stands its that he doesn't know if she survived the boat accident or died, but one thing he knows, no one remembers her....

By the way I already said I'm a blockhead, so after pointing the manga references, I just had to find the anime reference to his sister... For those interested, is right at the start of the second episode.... she seems like a small girl with long brown hair.

Well this show is starting to get dark as fuck now.

This show is getting a lot of criticism for trying to be too much of everything, but honestly I think it's working pretty well. People think it's too much fanservice, with a half-assed plot, and too much dark stuff, but when you look at the big picture it works well.

Souta was a kid with a dark passed who is scorned by a lot of people because of ship accident. Not only is he completely alone but he was given a flag power and mysterious message from a mysterious girl and he doesn't understand any of it. He then goes on to make a lot of friends and starts to change his outlook on life; realizing that he is not only a valuable part of all of his friends' lives, but they have become a part of his as well. All of those people have basically become one big family to him.

At the same time, you have the big mystery of the story in the background, slowly taking center stage. It went from him just having his own death flag, to discovering the "truth of the world" as more and more mysteries about the truth keep popping up. Mei showing up before losing her memories, Number Zero and her organization, the underground chamber that Ruri found, the history of the kingdom of Bladefield.

All of these mysteries are enticing and I find myself addicted to it and I want to know more. I basically see myself in Souta's shoes wanting to know the truth about everything just as much as he does.

The crown prince just leaked the info on the 2 princesses on the day the King died, so no one else was supposed to know.

This is just my guess but I think the House of Seven Virtues is made up of the 6 heroes and 2 queens from the tale. The golden princess is Number 0, and the samurai is Number 7. A total of 8 right there. The House of Seven Virtues would travel across world lines to find a world line where the world is alright.. uhm
