Yeah Its hard to follow, but it still appealing and quite addictive. Yeah animation was sweet, and I was hoping for some Kenshin-style sword action, but I guess maybe they want to be a bit more serious and real-time.

Was a nice episode, hard to follow in a few places but I think that was mostly due to the pacing of this anime as it seems rather slow. Not a big fan of that aspect but its still a good watch so far.

With my background/interests, this show is REALLY heavy on me. The animation's great though.

I think it's fair to say this story will clear up by the end. This is just one of the best things I've seen.

Nice episode. The story seems a little hard to follow, though.
Also, that old man (their Sensei?) pissing himself was so weird =S

No, it's not nearly as clumsy and dreadfully awkward as Tarantino. He learned from the Japanese, but they do it better, lol. ;)

I can't believe it didn't occur to someone to get rid of the old man, lol.

Tarantino's seemed to have patented the fractured narrative all by himself.

I really disliked Kill Bill. He's not a bad director at all, but his dependance on homaging everything is frustrating. Just wasting his skill.

Seriously, just stop me if I even head in the direction of that dojo.

I really enjoy the symbolic shots and the style of the animation. I think the narration style suits this anime really well. So far I really love this anime.

I believe the idea is that he borrows from things because he loves movies, and he wants to make movies that speak the "language of film," which, to him, means a revenge flick starring a woman in Bruce Lee's yellow and black outfit slashing people to pieces while "Flower of Carnage" from Lady Snowblood plays is movie heaven. He takes iconic images from pulp, exploitation, and cult classics and stews them in a pot of awesome. Admittedly it doesn't always work quite as well (I liked Kill Bill Vol. 1 a lot more than Vol. 2), but I like his overall approach.

There were people making films with fractured narratives long before he ever did, but he certainly popularized it. As he did with many other things that had been done in film before.

So anyway, Shigurui is certainly an interesting change of pace.

Its a bit confusing but I am extremely intrigues so far. This reminds me of Basilsk which is a good thing to say the least. I love the senile dojo sensie. He just stands there looking all dazed and then whips out that crazy bean cutting technique then stands there and pisses himself. The look on Mr. Lipstick was priceless.

Well this is one of the more realistic historical animes I've seen so far. (aside from the ninja-like moves.) The ritual was interesting and a bit disturbing. The old man looked like a zombie >.>

More suspense
It seems that that sensei guy is almost dead
It was interesting, the way that guy wielded that large clever like sword, reminded me of something out of Dark Souls or Demon's Souls

Also i dont like how poor in colour this anime is, makes me think I have poor eyesight. But the animation is great as well as the directing is unique.

It was a little hard ta follow since I can't tell most characters from each other (damn that samurai clone hairstyle) but I think I knew what happened.

It starts off with the Kogan dojo doin' chores with Broken Finger Fujiki struggling with his condition. Flashback to what happened during the fight with Ushimata and Seigen. Seigen in waiting room for student audition while thinking of fucking Kogan's daughter. Flashback further back to 6-finger Kogan's early days. Bean initiation with Seigen and husk Kogan commence.

Woo forced muscle expansion looked awesomely disturbing. I didn't know it was beans before they gave a closeup @_@ Kogan is a fuckin' husk compared to his old days, pissing himself and looking like a walking corpse but, damn. That skill!

Better then the first episode. It's slowly peaqued my interest but I'm still not quite on board. One issue I have with it involves the lighting. It's a little too dark (not toneally of course, this show is obviously intended for a specific audience) and it could stand for a bit of coherency, but my initial view is changing just a bit for the better.

This was a step up from the previous ep in terms of actual combat. Fujiki tried his choking technique on him,but it seems like he got distracted by the woman at the entrance which gave Seigen the chance to bend his fingers as far as back they basically broke.

The big guy won that match pretty decisively and even tried to kill Seigen for whatever reason. I thought that the incoming blow from the big guy would give him the disabilities he has today, but he avoided it at the last moment.

The scene with the old guy was really weird. I was thinking they were going to chop Seigen's head off and offer it to their master, but it was much more weirded than I expected.

I'm all for weird. I'm totally digging the vibe for this episode. Is it just me or do their eyes look extremely creepy? oh and that whole bean scene at the end with the zombified sensei was kind of strange.

God, I hate the lighting in this anime. Would it kill them to have a little light every now and then? I get it, it sets the tone of the show, but it's pretty ugly to look at constantly.
