THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I liked this more than film one. Still, for those who say that the films are better than the series, I must disagree. I have only seen the first two films as of yet, but the show is much better. Anyway, I thought this film was only mediocore. Everyone tells me that the films get better as they go on, so I'm happy about that, although it may be a bit untill I see the next film... |

Yeah this movie is better than the first one but not by much. I rated the first movie 5/10 and I'm rating this movie 5/10 too as it isn't good enough to reach 6/10. Sadly MAL doesn't have halfpoint scores. I'm going to copy what I posted about Kanzenshuu in the Dead Zone movie thread. There's a list on Kanzenshuu that shows where each movie takes place and where you can watch them while watching DBZ despite the fact that all the DBZ movies technically take place in an alternate universe. http://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=573 |

Tyestor said: I'm going to copy what I posted about Kanzenshuu in the Dead Zone movie thread. Thanks, originally I wasn't going to read that thread Tyestor said: There's a list on Kanzenshuu that shows where each movie takes place and where you can watch them while watching DBZ Hm yeah, but I think they are mistaken. They showed flashback with Piccolo, but since both him and Goku were alive and on Earth, it could have happened only after Goku returned from destroyed Namek (I suppose, I haven't watched that far yet), but the fact that he is barely able to use Kaio-ken times four when he should be able to handle times twenty contradicts with it, not to mention that this film aired before that happened in the series. Maybe he was so cold and hungry that his body couldn't take that much? That's an explanation, whereas Piccolo is still dead before going to Namek, so it couldn't have happened at that time in principle I've been wondering what happened to Nyoi-bo. I haven't seen it in the series for some time. The last time I remember is when it connected Karin Tower to Kami's Upper World (or Heavenly Realm as it has been translated in the DBZ) when Tenshinhan and the rest trained there in anticipation of Saiyans And wee saw Turtle Hermit in action at last. Yes we've seen his power level reading on scouter that Bulma used, but as we all know, people's readings can be changed vastly, so I've been wondering how he would compare to the others at this moment of the time, but just as expected, he's far beyond already |

Better than the first movie, more action packed which made it feel more like DBZ for me. One of my favorites of this one was the Trio Kamehameha by Goku, Krillin and Master Roshi I believe it was. It was kinda short lived though since it didn't really have effect :/ Here's to hoping to another party attack at some point. Going into this movie, based off the title I was thinking it was going to be about a martial arts tournament, still great nevertheless. |

Dr. Wheelo went against goku and whole world behind him, and world gave power to destroy him, living things, etc Movie villains are interesting, but that last usually just 1 movie, shame. |

The beginning was great - atmospheric, creepy, and mysterious. It kinda dragged a bit as it went along; this movie could have been 10 mins shorter. I do like that we see more of the cast here than the first one. The shot of Krillin running from the gatling gun was killer. |

Another fantastic film! Seriously.. does Krillin ever catch a damn break :)? What DBZ always did great was set up a realistic atmosphere. The creators of the show always seem to let the kicks/punches/screams/talking play out instead of having music playing in the background during particular scenes. Also, I forgot how cool and wholesome of a dude Goku was! With the limited clips of subs I'd see back in the day, I always thought the voice actress that played Goku never fit to the character (I still do think that way a little), but when it comes to fight scenes, she does an amazing job and is spot on! I will say Gohan was slightly annoying in this, but he made up for it in the end. |

Watched the second DBZ movie yesterday evening. For me as well this second one is clearly better than the first one, how the heck has this one a lower rating of 6.77 compared to the 6.82 from the first? Makes no sense to me. Pretty much everything is better in this second movie. Especially the Animation overall and also the snowy scenery was done quite well in this movie, it looks top notch to me. And it all had a certain atmosphere in it. Also I think it was a good and fresh idea to implement some Muten Roshi fighting scenes, which we don't see at all in DBZ. The villains also were all nicely designed and the fights were entertaining. For me this second movie is far better than the first. They actually did a really good job with it and I would give it 8/10. |

much better than the first movie, the villains are actually some kind of threat. some characters that are pretty much completely irrelevant in dragon ball (roshi, oolong) actually have something significant to do in this movie, which i appreciate. kind of weird to make it happen after the developments of the saiyans but before the ones on namek, considering what happened. overall i think it's a fun movie that doesn't really have much other than the barebones "theres a powerful evil guy, go beat the crap out of him goku" plotline. 5/10 |

While it follows the same rigid, common plot as you would expect from DBZ, this movie was surprisingly a bit better than the first one, which doesn't tell much. One thing I liked about this film is how they made each character relevant to the storyline. Each one of them contributed somewhat to the fight, or, at least, tried to, poor Krillin. Nonetheless, the alliance between friends didn't feel as intense as, let's say, the mighty battle between Goku, Krillin, Gohan, and Yajirobe Vs. Vegeta. Now, that is what I would call exhilarating. But for an hour-long movie, it did its part well instilling in characters into the fight. Except for Krillin, I don't know where he came from. He just seemingly popped up randomly. How does he do that? Another thing that kind of impressed me was the tense atmosphere at the beginning of the film. It felt like a classic Japanese horror game for me for some odd reason. I liked this one. I give it about a 6/10. That would do nicely. |

While this is definitely a bit better than the first movie, it's still awfully mediocre. Well, if there is one thing this movie succeeded at, it was delivering a genuinely chilling atmosphere - likely as a result of the overall setting, as well as the villains. I really hope the movies will improve over time though. |

Ah, this is Dr. Wheeler in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. So, this is his movie. He's OP in the game. I remember bullying my friends by using him, until they start using Broly. lol Why would he prefer flesh over metal? metal bodies are the best! It is upgradeable, repairable, doesn't age, etc. I always dream of becoming one someday! 7/10 |

Pretty decent movie. Don't like the Spirit Bomb being spammed after this point or the borrowing energy. That took away what made this movie interesting. Also the thing with Gohan dreaming about Piccolo and having a flashback of him drying while having a wholesome music in the background is such a toneshift lmao |

great movie, simply more classic era Z, doesn't need the most spectacular of villains to be amazing. They all have great character designs still too |
