THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- So now they turned Broly into a blob of goo . . . Well this movie turned out to be about as bad as the first Broly movie except more entertaining. There was 18 being her badass self, Goten the lovable idiot (one part even mirrored what Goku did when he was younger lol), and Trunks the naughty boy. The ending video was pretty cute too :3 Honestly though I would have rather liked to see Broly tear through hell, while beating on past Dragon Ball villains, than anything that happened in this movie. Too bad that's just left to our imagination :( |

Yes, this certainly wasn't the best DBZ film. The first two Broly films were better. This film just re-hashed ideas, and Hercule is still an idiot. And the villains were all weak and annoying. Still, it was cool seeing 18 beat up some thugs, and Goten is always a cute little thing, but yeah. Could have been better. |

This wasn't as horrible as everyone makes it out to be....maybe because I always loved Hercule I don't know. |

This is actually my favourite DBZ film. Broly isn't as badass as he is in the other two but I absolutely love love the Goten-Trunks-Android 18 combo! It's good fun to watch :D |

I can't believe what they have done to Broly. And to fighting as well. Bad movie. |

Good lord this was terrible. Worst DBZ movie by far. Quoting what I posted last movie. Tyestor said: There's a list on Kanzenshuu that shows where each movie takes place and where you can watch them while watching DBZ despite the fact that all the DBZ movies technically take place in an alternate universe. http://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=573 |

I actually liked it, it was quite fun. It was more like part of the series than a movie.. so not that great to be called a movie xD. Also did anyone watch the ending? They show Trunks and Goten when they were born ^_^. 6/10 |

While not as bad as most people seem to make it out to be the film still leaves much to be desired. |

Nice follow up to the previous movie (Broly Second Coming). Pretty much in the same ballpark for me though, it was okay. Nothing particularly grand. It was nice to see Goten and Trunks kick ass this time around though, their first villain defeat. Not exactly a one-on-one fight win (assisted by enviro) but it's still a win, lol. They're growing up fast :p I found it a bit weird though, there was like 2 Bio-Brolys, one that they released and then one that broke out and that was one that they fought... The one they fought was still covered in slime or whatever... it kinda weirded me out. Especially since he didn't even talk... heck.. he didn't even freaking grunt, lol. Bio-Engineered Soldiers got no voice. |

Hopefully that's the last we'll see of Broly...I mean, isn't 3 movies enough of him? |

I've been binging the DBZ movies since I finished the manga this week and I gotta say, I don't understand all the hate on this film. First off, none of these DBZ movies are all that great. The two most notable ones are Cooler's Revenge and the first Broly film, where Cooler's is a far more entertaining film. The action sequences are fun, the plot is simple yet filled with risk, and the soundtrack was great (the only DUB where I felt the OST felt authentic.) But on to Broly's first debut, I didn't find the film all that entertaining. It had a legitimate plot with multiple strands making for an engaging and thrilling adventure, but Broly himself is a boring villain. Oh, he's more powerful than everyone else? Okay but what is his motivation? Absolutely nothing. Red Ribbon had motivation, Piccolo had motivation, Vegeta, Frieza, Cell, they all had motivation. Buu and Broly are in the category of "I just destroy to destroy" but Buu at the least had his different forms, fat Buu giving us something a little different to work with. He was a character with different perspectives all in one, one part being a crazed monster. So, Broly's film made him an uninteresting villain and the fight scenes were the worst because it's basically Broly just kicking everyone's butt. To me, what makes the fights engaging is seeing everyone do different moves, trade hits, stuff like that. Broly was nonstop him beating everyone. Someone lands 1 hit but Broly doesn't react he just keeps hitting back. If he were hit, took the momentum, hit back, then Goku hit back, etc. See what I mean? The worst part was when Goku said, "Now the real fight begins." When he finally had the energy to fight back and it was one punch on Broly and Broly died. Stupidest thing ever. So right off the bat I'm totally disinterested in Broly but I still appreciated the stuff AROUND him (even if he was just a stupid baby who got mad another baby cried). But because of how boring his character was in the first film, his second film was even worse (and by far THE WORST DBZ MOVIE IVE WATCHED.) Second Coming is so stupid. Everything about it blows. So this film, I don't see why Broly being beaten by water bothers people. His character was so stupid, so boring, and probably the worst villain in DBZ. Pilaf is WAY more interesting as a character in Dragon Ball than Broly. I'd quicker recommend Bio-Broly for someone to watch solely because the fights were way more fun to watch since everyone traded back and forth, there was legitimate risk to the plot, and Trunks didn't pee on anyone. |

ok i'll admit...after holding this one off for so many years, it was not as bad as it should be. the main plot point is very very very stupid but its more light hearted than most. while Trunks and Goten were the focal point, Android 18 was the star of this movie. Krillin getting the....second to last...shot in was cool, but of course they cant help themselves and make him a geek before the final shot. its not that good, but i enjoy it more than World's Strongest and Lord Slug |

I'd say 6/10. Least favorite Broly movie for me by far, followed by the first movie, then Second Coming at the top. They had such an interesting concept but flubbed it hard. I liked the idea of characters that don't talk to each other much being forced to fight and interact together (18, Goten, Trunks all together) and the idea of a clone of Broly. Many intersting angles to tackle it from, but they chose the most basic and easiest to write. Not as bad as people say it is on it's own, but compared to other movies like Fusion Reborn or Cooler's Revenge, it falls squarely into "bad" territory. |

I don't understand why this movie has a lower avg score than movie 10. This is a little bit better IMO. There's some funny moments, the fight scenes are better, and of course Android 18. 6/10 |

Hmmm... I don't know. That was really weird. It continues on from the first two Broly films by doing like a biopunk horror thing instead of a slasher horror thing. 18 is extra-dom and this film's Vegeta. Krillin is the film's Piccolo. The "shaman" guy from the second movie is here in an important role that turns out to not be too important. A bunch of nothing happens, and then a bunch of stuff happens really fast. Broly is the Blob/Man-Thing. Several fake-outs happen. Purple goo floods the island but is defeated by seawater (huh?! the stereotypical German scientist who sounds like Vegeta didn't know that?). Nothing feels very good about this movie. It's like a bizarre fever dream. It basically is the good - both nothing and everything at once and a mess all-around. This was still more entertaining than the first Broly movie. I think I liked the second one better though. This one looks cheap and just doesn't really have a good flow/rhythm to it. |

Not the best dragon ball movie, but also not the worst. The interactions between 18, and mr Satan are funny XD. |

I think it's not that bad. There were some interesting ideas. Of course they were undermined by making Broly an ugly blob and having the fluid being weak to water but they were interesting concepts. Also, I don't know, but I think the previous movie annoyed me more. |
