Junpei's decision to go full ballet (and with a shaved head of all things), and achieve the fame of a Danseur Noble dancing the part of the Prince, it's not so easy facing against prestigious Russian ballet, but if the dream takes you there, it's seeing it to believe it.

Junpei should be proud that his father taught him Jeet Kune Do as his base foundation for ballet, but according Chizuru to it just isn't TRUE ballet. From the barre basics to even the most extensive of movements, TRUE ballet takes years of practice, and for Junpei to master them a month since his arrival seems like it's asking too much from him to nail the correct foundations of ballet, and drill them in his mind to etch off the bad habits. Taking barre lessons repeatedly can seem mundane, but the basics are essential, and if there's one thing that Luou can't stand, it's standing on the same stage as Junpei, much less his own personal trauma of being taught under his overzealous grandmother.

Practicing barre day and night, Junpei might've got it down, and when it comes with the actual replication both him and Miyako did good, except that Miyako got flustered by Junpei's still-sloppy dance. Just hoping that both Luou and monke Junpei can come to terms with one another on stage in the future.

While Junpei sleep 4 hours a day, I can see that animators sleep 0 hour because the movement is very fluid, this episode doesn't have a flashy event so I'm surprised that we've some expensive animation here, especially everytime Junpei dance like a monkey.

Due to circumstances, Junpei's dream of being a noble danseur in Russia has to be postponed indefinitely, but luckily Ballet is not monopolized by Russia, after all it was originated from Italy, and both "Ballet" and "Danseur" are French language.

Now, that was a great episode, because felt that this series will pick up. Previous episodes were good, but was just a prologue in a way.

Junpei finally got his thoughts together. And now can dance.

That Junpei and Luou scene, I really liked it, was a great beginning of a rivalry.

Now that Junpei has removed the social barriers standing in his path, he must re-train himself in the basics since just "passion" isn't gonna cut it. May even lead to injury. Loved this development.

Luou certainly seems to have had a rather abusive childhood, getting groomed in ballet. That might explain why he's passive.

Oh, I think I was right about Luou being abused in his past. Really hope real ballet instructors don't treat their students like that!

Has Junpei been cutting his hair throughout this time? A month is long enough to grow a good amount of hair, but his hair is still so short. I wish his hair would grow a bit more. Hair can be a great way to show a character's emotions and personality, and I think animators should take advantage of that.

A part of me still wants Luou to take over as the protagonist. lol. He's a lot more interesting.

Looks like we'll get to see their Swan Lake next episode. I have only seen clips of that show on YouTube, but it looks really pretty, and the music is beautiful, so I am looking forward to it. (And, Luou's makeup looked so good in the preview!)

And people had the nerve to give Jumpei shit, lol.

Great episode again, someone is having way too much fun with basic training and you love to see it. Ah, the joy of the beginner phase.

as someone who has been dancing ballet her entire life, this show is so nice to watch because it takes so many details into account, and you can really see that in this episode. everything chizuru says about basic technique and all the mistakes she points out are things you hear in actual ballet lessons, i love that it's so realistic.

however, and precisely because of this, junpei frustrated me so much at first because he refused to understand the importance of technique, i was yelling at my screen lol. loved to see him enjoy the barre at the end though, it's some simple yet nice character development.

the pas de deux was gorgeous, and the final scene with ruō was very good, i'm excited to see their relationship actually develop from now on.

It was an okay episode. It wasn't boring, but it felt somewhat too "by the numbers". When Miyako pointed out his worn out shoes, it felt like ... don't TELL us about his training efforts, SHOW us. It was like they rushed it a bit here.

My highlight of the episode was when Miyako started blushing during her dance with Junpei. Haha, how the turn tables have! :D Although this scene also shows one problem: Before, Junpei had severe issues with getting close to girls. Now he was full of confidence just by visualising the coreography. Again, too fast for my liking.

With so many anime nowadays rushing their plot, I hope Dance Dance Danseur actually slows down a bit.
If you haven't watched "Fantastic Children", don't talk about "best anime". Thank you.

That was another great episode. More on the technical side of the ballet. I loved it even tho I'm not very familiar with Ballet myself. Seeing Junpei being freely able to move and express his love for Ballet was great to see and Luou also came out and feels like the rivalry between them is gonna get spicy from here on out.

The preview for the next episode looks great, especially the storyboard and the direction. Can't wait.

I always love it when the sparkles show up. Great episode! Junpei and Miyako's practice performance was fucking great. Once Junpei gets the basics down, he's definitely gonna become a beast. That choking battle at the end though lmao.

Looks like we'll be getting the performance next episode based on the preview, and it looks like it's gonna be a banger, really looking forward to it.

This episode is so good, I hope Junpei's efforts will pay off.
Those are indeed what I want to see in a "sports anime", "Seishun", "Development", and "Affection"... Those elements always encourage me in the real life, that is why I like to see sports anime.

Don't like how much this left behind the content of the last episode. We're right back on the path of budding rivals as if Luou didn't get another big dose of trauma and Junpei didn't abandon all his friends and hobbies. It really cheapens the plot to use bullying so shallowly.

Right?
I was suspecting ,after the last episode, that the whole bullying thing was just a narrative device rather than an actual plot hook.
I expected it to be irrelevant within like 2 episodes, but apparently it didn't even take one.

Junpei if he is released now and can go as he wishes, but he lacks quite a bit and with so little time for the festival, plus the fact that he has high dreams, let's see what's next, Ruo is still the one who knows the most.

From my understanding, Luou's display last episode was a little act of defiance. It was his way of sticking up for himself and showing his determination to solve the problem by himself (so he was getting ready to get over it). Though he can be meek, we've also seen how indignant he can be (like being outspoken about being a better fit as the prince). It's also why he was annoyed this episode that what actually ended the situation was not his effort but rather the shifted focus to Jumpei. The issue is over on his side, though.

On Jumpei's side, it's pretty obvious that he's too excited right now to bother. After eight years of holding himself back and hiding his love of ballet, he's now being totally open about it. The happiness brought from that is making him forget everything. Look at him; he's dancing all day and all night. He willingly quit the soccer club anyways, and he made the choice to give up on Jeet Kune Do too. The only issue right now is his broken relationship with his friends (that he's not thinking about too much due to how busy he is), which I hope would be addressed in future episodes.

I think the development makes a lot of sense.

I liked the movement of this episode. The characters were open about their ambitions; Murao was passionate and engrossed in his dance with Miyako; and Luou, while still commonly running from confrontation, expressed a greed and jealousy fueled on by Murao's progress.

I enjoyed the little sneak peaks we got of Luou's past. Reveals some reasons why he might be the way he is.

The ending, the introduction of a healthy challenge/rivalry between Murao and Luou, I appreciate greatly! I look forward to seeing this rivalry blossom.

They all can die from envy, Junpei. You just keep doing what brings joy to your heart.

Second 5/5 episode in a row. Junpei's character seems to be developing nicely and not gonna lie, it's actually kinda cute seeing him having so much fun while doing ballet.

As for Luou, I see he continues to act like a disrespectful ass. Honestly, no wonder why I didn't feel anything when we got a glimpse of his shitty childhood.

Congratulations to Junpei for being slightly more tolerable.
That being said. I'm still rooting for Ruou, and would rather have him as the protagonist instead of Junpei. After all that hell, I'm not surprised about his behaviour at all.
But I'd like to see both of them dance in Russia. Maybe not as danseur nobles, because I think 11 episodes won't be enough for that unless they either rush it or skip a lot to get there, which I hope they don't.

I am so so so so happy they seem to have changed the pace of this show. After the first two episode I was ready to drop this. The pacing of the story went SO fast that it annoyed the f out of me. But ever since episode 3 they seem to have slowed down a lot. This could be entirely my individual perception on this though, lol.
Anyway because of this the show is 10 times more enjoyable to watch.
Can't wait for the next episode!

Only remark on this episode is how they sorta skipped over Junpei losing all his friends just like that. He seems to be perfectly fine with it... But that's maybe a bit hard to believe? Who knows. I have not read the manga so perhaps they skipped it on purpose.

I believe that he made friends mostly for the sake of keeping up this image of manliness and all so now that he can use pursue his passion freely after having kept it inside for so long, he doesn't care.

There was no point to episode 3 other than to rediscover Jumpei's love for ballet.

Waste of an episode in my eyes.

This anime truthfully understands what doing ballet feels like.
I have wept each chapter; the parts that specially got me in this one where when Junpei says something like "If I don't dance I'll die" and that scene in which they do a little rehearsal and Junpei is having a conversation while dancing got me crying as hell.
This anime is beautiful and perfect beyond words.

These little practice dances brought me to tears. They're so elegantly animated and they reach you in the most beautiful way. It was very dreamy watching this episode.

I like the rivalry, but damn Luou has a dark past. I genuinely wonder how he feels about the way he got into ballet in the first place.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.
