The days of the Heike are numbered.

The move to Fukuhara, and then back to the Capital is frustrating for all, and more people are in uprising against the Heike. Pretty ironic that you would send people unarmed to fight against armed monks to cease-and-desist the conflict, which at this point, the backfire is intense against Kiyomori's forces that involves Shigehira spearheading the military efforts.

Everyone is feeling the pressure, even Biwa with her heterocolored eyes. As for Emperor Go-Shirakawa, his demise has already proceeded, but Kiyomori using Tokuko to infiltrate the royal family, that didn't sit well with her to give a lashing towards her own father. Kiyomori's greed to build the Heike has finally caught up to him for his detractors in rebellion, and the fact that his fever (that turned into an internal inferno) as a result of the karma of burning bridges of temples, the entire family is under the curse of the Devil's spell.

The Taira Brothers's response is quite divisive: Munemori is at a loss, Koremori is scared for the future, Sukemori exiles Biwa out of the family. With Kiyomori's death, Emperor Go-Shirakawa is reinstated and Tokuko can breathe a sigh of relief...the real troubles have only just begun.

Shigehira have a true calling for knowing the time to put things on fire.

Tokuko as always the strongest character.

Kyomori was a evil character, but man of focus, commitment and sheer will.

Sukemori sending Biwa away was for the best with that encirclement, better let her escape.

And now we enter the final time of Tokuko.

Great episode! I’m glad Tokuko stood up to her father. And now for burning down the temples, divine punishment is happening to Kiyomori…..

Looking forward to the next episode!

Please let it there be a twist. Biwa or some kind of fortune/miracle that can spare some of Heike clan decedents.

Great episode! With Kiyomori gone, the Heike is as good as done. He wasn't the best of people and caused a lot of suffering because of his ambition and desires, but I think he more or less cared for his family. Tsundere Sukemori banishing Biwa to protect her was pretty bittersweet, but Biwa's all alone now again and she has to watch everyone she knows suffer. I hope at least some of them survives.

Tokuko's a great character, I loved it when she defied her father and her talk with Go-Shirakawa. If there were more people like Shigemori that tried to set Kiyomori straight, maybe things wouldn't have reached this point. Looking forward to the next episode and see what happens now.

not the best episode so far but also far from bad.. The last few minutes made up for the rather uninteresting episode.

There only have been 2 episodes so far where I wasn't completely impressed. This one where Kiyomori dies, and the one where Shigemori died. Coincidence? not sure.. but the deaths didn't leave much impact. This anime provides more emotion in the micro moments rather than the macro, which I'm fine with, since the writing in these smaller moments is just stellar. But can't lie, they could have done better with both of these deaths, both left me a little disappointed considering how well this anime is directed.

Good episode, story really starting to pick up.

Still not too crazy about some of the BGMs they use.

RIP Kiyomori, you get what you deserved.
Shouldn't Burn Buddhist temple in the first place.

Damn Heike is not looking good at all, people keep dying one by one.

The scene where Biwa had to left made me cry, even if I knew it was for the best :( Hope the brothers will be okay, and Tokuko too...

Kiyomori is death, without him, Heike is nothing. Seems like everything is falling down after another. Sukemori said all those stuff to Biwa in order for her to leave peacefully. What a tsundere. It's still confusing but enjoyable.

It all happens so fast. Leaving Fukuhara or w/e it's called as soon as they got there basically. With Kiyomori gone what's to become of the Heike? Sukemori telling Biwa is leaving is probably for her own good tbh. Poor Koremori and Shigehira are basically traumatized for life. I sense a lot of depressing shit in our future. But what of Biwa? She was sort of like our lens into the Heike family, so what now that she is supposedly gone?

The fires that were supposed to help didn't do anything but damage to them. On top of that, Kiyomori's death made the matter even worse for all of them, and now looking at all of them, it seems like the Heike is not going to last long.

Even, Biwa was told to leave Heike and now she's gone with the little cat. Tokuko is such a kind soul.

Hmm Biwa seems to have pretty much accpeted the fate of the Hieke. Even if she didn't I wonder what she could do to help.

Behold of my awesomeness~

Kiyomori was my favourite character in this story. He might be dangerous and violent, but he also was amusing! And had balls. His last words here were exactly what I liked about him: not asking for monumets, but for his enemy's head.
I'll miss this baldie.

Lots of things are going wrong for the Heike. What will Biwa predict next? I think that's the question that keeps me watching. Fantastic episode and I hope it keeps going like this.

Hmmm now even Kiyomori has succumbed, it really seems like the Heike will disappear soon, and Biwa got kicked out by Sukemori to protect her, definitely understandable

Two episodes and I already want Taira no Kiyomori to burn in hell.

Wish granted. He was the cancer of this clan. Such a shame it's already too late to fix the mess he left behind.

Dammit Kiyomori, after all the evil stuff you've done, you now just die while the Heike clan is at its downfall. As for Tokuko it was great seeing her stand up to her dad, although its still sad to think she and her son will die.

I don't understand the direction in this series. One of the most pivotal points in the story is the death of Kiyomori, but it does not have any larger significance than the other plot points of the episode. This story is one of the greats of Japanese Literature, but this adaptation just doesn't feel like its doing it justice.

Felt like more of a transitional episode, but it was still very solid. I wish I could be like Tokuko. She's probably my favorite character in the show now (after Shigemori, but he's dead now so yeah lol) and I love the way she looks at life and everything about her honestly lol.
