Iczer2 took over Nagisa's body somehow, and through the power of a mystical bracelet thing, allowed her to fight as equals to Iczer1. Meanwhile, Iczer1 kills Nagisa to save the human race, and she and Nagisa syncronize for real. I'm not sure of synchronization is a stand-in for sex or not, because even the fanservice here is laughable, lol.

So Iczer1 and Iczer2 had a fight that was short lived, and Iczer1 won. Then she went to fight Gold and beat him too. Afterwards, she somehow reset everything so everything is as it was before everything happened.

I feel like somewhere in all of this there was a vision for an interesting show. The character designs were good and the action was actually pretty cool for its time. For the first anime with lesbian characters, it's pretty weak on any actual lesbian content save for the first 5 minutes.

This is a time-killer, not much else.

I watched a special cut of this show that I found on baka. Loved the unapologetic fan service of this show. Iczer is cute.

This was a fun show to watch.

6/10 (above average)
I'd have given it 1 more had it left everything wrecked at the end.

I liked this a lot more than I was expecting to.
Also I see a lot of "not very original" sort of comments about this anime on some places but I would argue the mashing together of 70s style Robo anime, magical girl tropes, and go nagi style guts monsters and gore is pretty unique, especially for it's time. Maybe people are forgetting this was made in 1985.

Another Hirano anime (next to Dangaioh) with a completely unnecessary recap. At least it wasn't 11 minutes long.

So Iczer One can feel the pain of Iczer Robo. Eva vibes.

Very inventive names for a pair of red abd blue robots - Reddas and Blueba xD

That impact frame (or rather 2 frames) on 23:14 with a flying head lol. Goofy.

The way everyone materializes after teleportation in this anime is so familiar. I've seen it at least in Gall Force and, I think, somewhere else too.

Nagisa's death reminded me of certain arc from Bubblegum Crisis. The premises share some similarities too. Well, same studio...

Iczer Two probably should've been cut in half but whatever. The thing that interests me is...her beam saber being yellow. The only other place where I've seen such a thing is Tomino's anime (particularly Ideon, I think). Direct influence or coincidence? Similar thought in regards to Big Gold's final form - a "fire"-like thing with a face. Belladonna of Sadness had something like that.

That cow on the milk bag with a "V" sign lol. Love little gags like this. Overall, indeed a rather unique mix for its time, which looks *awesome*, so one of the better OVAs, I guess. There were things to enjoy.

Are you sure it wasn't just an original, uncensored version of the show (in case it was censored in some releases)? Or a compilation movie?

P.S. It looks like Iczer had something very close to what is now known as Japanese-style elf ears even before Lodoss? Maybe there was something else though (or the ears are insufficiently elf-like or unique). Still, interesting.

Didn't enjoy the ending as we got all the excitement, horror and hardship recycled with Iczer basically rewinding all the events back to the beginning. Don't really enjoy having my entire experience of this 3part OVA reduced to basically an amazing dream that never really happened. Oh well, the animation remained absolutely phenomenal throughout the series and that alone deserves a full recommendation for anyone looking for a good time for your visual senses as most classic 80 anime OVAs often delivered.

Simply wished the story was developed a bit more as the whole motivation for the alien invaders remain unclear, Iczer motivation for being Earth's defender remained mysterious, and what the heck is big gold and that weird opening sequence with the woman? Also, Sepia was done dirty with her meager resolution in the final OVA as I was thinking she go out as brave badass and instead went out with a forgettable wimper.

Finally, does anyone else think this OVA needed at least another episode because I simply think we were about to get some genuine bonded between Nagisa and Iczer when her younger sister ruins the chemistry building moment. More than other fault, this OVA needed to develop the relationship between those two leading ladies much more than we ever saw in actuality and really hurt my care for their plight compared to even Cobalt and Sepia who clearly had a deeper and better developed bond than our heroines.

Overall, I still give it a 7/10 for the animation, mostly.

Horrible. The anime itself is bad, but the ending was really bad. All the destruction was for nothing, as in the end everything was restored. I generally hate that kind of thing, and this was one of the cases/examples of that.

Absolutely fantastic. Exactly what an 80s OVA should be: shlock, overly violent and sexy.

I really like the design and aesthetics of this piece of media.

RIP Nagisa, I guess.

I very much enjoyed this OVA.

Thoroughly entertaining, while abiding by all the cheesiness and shlock you'd expect. My only hang up is that I wish there was more!

Gorgeous, violent, and sonically sound. An easy 9/10 for me. No guilt in this pleasure.
