Tatakae!! Iczer-1 Episode 1 Discussion

I'm both surprised and not surprised that this anime doesn't have a discussion already. I'm surprised in that, as far as I can tell, this is the first anime to feature lesbian characters and in this new age, more people are typically paying attention to that.

It's certainly one of the earlier ones, but wouldn't something like Cream Lemon be even earlier than that? Provided that the yuri episodes were among the first ones (I haven't seen it).

The remastered version really pops, especially those colors. A couple of graphic body horror scenes as well. Never expected it turn into a mech battle but that's a positive for me although the ending was a bit anti-climactic, but those explosions were great. Not much info on Iczer-one yet, next episode is probably going to be a battle against Sepia and the final one against Violet. Also fuck you Violet for interrupting the lesbian sex scene.

Yep, that's the one I watched. Is there a different version?

So, 99/3 gives 33min which is listed here on MAL.

In the version I watched, there was a depiction of nipple in the lesbian although it wasn't prominent. Is the one you are mentioning has more prominence?

if you compare these 2, you can see a faint shadow of a nipple. I remember a bit more though, so my memory is still not the best.

Well, the remastered version of OVA and Tokubetsu is the same, so it's probably just the DVD version thing. Another possibiltiy might have been to be the work of the person or the group making the encode. But in the torrent they shared some screenshots so, it's not their work. Anyway, thanks.

I'm also not surprised because it's a little known OVA series from the 1980s.

Edit: I have done further research since this first post, and I can confirm, it seems that Iczer-One was the first anime with clear cut lesbian characters.

So in this episode our main character Nagisa has a bunch of weird things happen to her before officially meeting Iczer-1. I don't know who Iczer-1 is, why she can only fuse or something with Nagisa, why Nagisa is randomly naked, or really where this is going. I have more questions than answers. Let's hope this anime answers more next episode.
