So they showed Season 3's episode known as the "Bird in a Cage" as part of the reminiscence arc.

I felt bad for Mitsuko tbh. The way Seiji (her husband) treats her is just horrible and I'm no surprised that Yuzuki decided to try and help her. This show continously explores social issues including relationship abuse. The husband definitely deserved that punishment tbh.

A lot of emotions this episode.

Kikuri x ramen better than housewife x shota.

Akie saying "ippen shinde miru" is one of my favorite funny moments from Jigoku Shoujo.

Since Hone Onna said that this ended in a tragedy I take it the woman committed suicide at the end, probably.

The way I understood it is that the Mitsuko took the role of the abuser and Yuzuki the victim, and the abuse continues as before, but with new characters, given how the phone rings for Yuzuki.

Good choice, another memorable episode. Though for some reason I thought it was a first season episode.

Hehehe, I remember this episode.

Moral of the story:

Thou shall not claim another man's waifu. A man has the right to make his waifu do whatever he desires without objection!

So HANDS OFF!

I don't understand the ending. I suspected the wife to be an M but the couple's dynamic wasn't explained. Who called in the end? Unlikely to be the wife.

A lot of sexual innuendos here. For some reason I forgot about it, even though this is one of the episodes from the third season that I remember.

When Kikiru said "Don't waste electricity" at the end of the torture scene, I burst out laughing!

A confusing episode, but I think it was trying to portray that relationship abuses are never as simple as they seem.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

This episode was really good, a wife that was used to the abuse that she thought it was normal...

That'd be anticlimatic lol. I was thinking maybe it was the real culprit behind the calls the wife was getting and her husband called every day just to keep the line busy to counter that. Hence the last words from her husband who was frantic to call her at 3pm to save her.

Otherwise, client works too lol.

oh what a hot MILF wife...too bad she didn't accepted the young boy's feelings.
omg abuse concept again?
The thing that I didn't understand is why does that other schoolmate girl felt all the happenings? like she was connected in every way on this whole episode?
4/5.

Who's that girl who sees visions? Cool flowers & cocoon visuals, almost like she gave birth to hellgirl.
Start & end confusing... what amigos & Tange? who called?

She is the MC of season 3. Season 2 ended with Ai losing her body and she temporarily uses Yuzuki as a host in season 3 until she gets her body back. She is also a hell girl candidate like Michiru.

In short, what is the moral? beside the abusive relationship?

It still feels so bad to watch this, even as a reminisence, knowing what happened to Yuzuki. Mitsuganae was truly something else.
Come on man, where is that Noragami season 3 masterpiece. We want it, Bones!
