Mm, this episode had a calmer feel than what I had anticipated. Good breather episode considering all the drama.

Tekkadan getting their order together and in the meantime, I'm hoping to see Aina take a more active role again with everyone. I feel like they are putting quite a bit of responsibility to Takaki this season. Hope he makes the crew proud~

This episode seemed to establish a lot though I can't really be sure since I speak next to 0 japanese, so I could only guess what was happening until subs eventually come out.

But it looks like Earth Tekkadan is having a hard time as Takashi finds himself in charge of some testy Tekkadan newbies once a terrorist attack causes both Chad and Makanai to be put out of action.

We have the accountant Radice, who seems to be a double agent, supposedly sent by Teiwaz to help Tekkadan only for it to turn out that he's actually working with this new group of terrorists.
And it looks like he's trying to set up Tekkadan and also do a sort of take over by having the terrorist guy move in and take charge?

I'm not so sure yet on all the details until I get the subs, but this looks like a very dangerous and problematic situation for Tekkadan, especially because it looks like Orga and group won't be able to come and help, at least not right away.

It's clear that Takaki is just too young to bear the responsibility he's burdened with, so he's being manipulated and used. Even Chad is not quite up to par, tbh.

McGillis won his move, now it's Rustal's turn to make a move and with all that foreshadowing, it's gonna be a heavy blow to McGillis's side, including to Tekkadan.

RoboGali doesn't seem too menacing so far, so I guess some of his old personality still remains. But, I bet we'll see him in action soon, since Mika and Barbatos were sent to Earth.

I, too, hope that Kudelia will play a bigger role now that the political stage for her, with the threat of a war and Makanai unconcious, has been set up.

Mostly just a buildup episode, Still a good one at that.

Didn't expect that terrorist bombing on Makanai and Chad.
I seem to have forgotten who Chad is though.

Poor Takaki isn't able to bear the responsibility, Hopefully he'll find a way but that monologue at the end doesn't seem to be in his favor.

New war on the horizon and the Tekkadan main forces may not reach in time. :(

Is Chad a new character?..... there were so many characters that appeared this episode that I never seen before (or at least have no memories of) like the guy who betrayed Tekadan.

Chad has been there since the beginning. He was one of the three main Human Debris members of CGS and then Tekkadan along with Dante and Akihiro.

Radice is a new character that just came in this season.

I think Chan was in previous season as well. Generally, loyal ones tend to be original characters, ones recruited later on tends to cause trouble.

What the fuck is wrong with this piece of shit episode? Where did the "clever" writing go? Out the fucking window? This shit was so dumb my brain cells committed suicide.

Tekkadan had firsthand experience with betrayals and back stabs. How can Takaki just simply "trust" an outsider like that? Especially when he behaves like he fucking hates every second he has to spend with Tekkadan. He isnt even trying to fake smiling or courtesy, you can see the hatred right on his fucking animated face.

How could they dumb shit down like that?

so the first half felt a bit lame, or rather unnecessary.
Why is the earth branch of tekkadan not allowed to communicate with the main force? Why is Radice a thing? He seems suspicious to me.
The story feels all over the place.. I hope they fix that.
Some action coming up next episode. Maybe this will give a hint at important characters of earth branch other then takaki.

Why does it look like the arbrau defense forces dont like tekkadan? Shouldnt they be more thankull?
Its 5 episodes in and I dont really understand the politics in this.

EVERYTHING IS FUCKED! I don't think this episode even counts as foreboding, its not even a feeling anymore they are just letting us know outright this is heading to a worst case scenario.

Still kind of a slow build up episode all things considered. Still i prefer slower pacings and i definitely enjoy this approach more of not having any massive standout moments this episode so to set up the chaos thats ensuing. I would worry that things havent gotten moving yet with 20 episodes left but looking at things alot has happened in these past 5 episodes than most the first season in terms of plot.

Fuka is probably safe TBH, however takaki is almost guaranteed to die, the fact that hes narrating this episode just makes me think its going to reveal next episode that its just his dying message to the rest of tekkadan or something. Aston i feel like he has a 50/50 chance of surviving the next few episodes but i hope he does since i feel like its offing him way too early after hes become an actual character, takaki has always been gaining more and more focus as the show went on especially after biscuit died and i think he can get a proper arc out of it, aston just sort of has a bit part in the brewers arc and a brief cameo in the final 2 episodes only really getting characterization now, i see him surviving over the wreckage thats going to become of the tekkadan earth branch as good potential for character development.

Lafter & Akihiro need to get together totally( Naze's harem is much too big and Lafter seems to talk to Akihrio and help him a lot more, Ik she's helping Tekkadan and that's why she's with em).

Omg looks like this will be heavily focused on Aston and Takaki (the new Mika and Orga gen?) because it's gonna take Orga and the others 3 weeks to get to earth. Fck Radice for betraying em and starting a war for money and his hatred of the kids who he thinks are wild animals just because of theyre lack of education.
I hope Chad and Mr.Makanai are gonna be okay. Takaki or any of the earth Tekkadan open your eyes and get rid of Radice soon. I swear I'm call the death flags on Takaki ,I can imagine even Radice pulling the trigger myself.

Hmmm this setting up a rather interesting situation. Mika is heading to earth while Orga remains on mars. This will be the first time they have been separated like this. Add to this the limited communication they will have and the fact Mika, as well as a large part of Tekkadan is probably headed into a war its creates a situation we haven't seen yet. How well can Tekkadan do without Orga there to give them orders and rallying them? How will Mika a be affected without Orga giving him orders? Will Orga's decision making process be different without Mika there watching him? Should also be interesting to see just how much this conflict escalates and who else will be drawn into it.

Orga will probably be in constant contact, it's not like there is a Radice there who is controlling communications.

Mika has gone off by himself to pick up stuff or send things in other ships. Even last season, he stayed with Teiwaz for awhile while Barbatos was getting upgraded. It's not his first time on his own. Mika and Orga can be on their own, their connection is stronger than that. For them, it's the fact that the other is always a constant presence in the back of their mind. Orga will unconciously think of what would Mika do, and Mika will keep Orga's orders and the good of Tekkadan in mind.

The only time their separation might be a danger is if Mika is in battle and is going too far, then he needs Orga to bring him back. But that can also work in this situation in that all Mika needs to hear is Orga's voice. His actual physical presence is not needed.

oh dear it looks like shit be going down

everybody in this thread is worried about who's going to bite it but really... they didn't kill off that many people last season. In general, even when shows do kill off a lot of people, they do it all at the end. But then again it was like super obvious from day 1 that biscuit was going to eat shit, so perhaps this season's designated target really will be takaki et al.

But man,

to think all of this could have been avoided, if only Gjallarhorn actually did their fucking job

Nah, that they are not. Aston might be trigger-happy like Mika (sans genius combat ability to back it up), but Takaki is definitely not Orga, not even in-making. He's just too kind for his own good and lacks the iron core and solid decision making ability that Orga always had, even as a kid. They're too different, and Takaki's obviously unfit for the role he was thrust into, which is why the Earth branch's situation is going to be getting only worse until the Marcian main force arrives. We can only guess if it will be too late for Takaki and his comrades or not by the time...

You'll see nothing than Tekkadan being bullied at Earth, all will be drama until Mars relief forces come.
Takaki is too young to bear everything while Aston can't help either, he only know to fight, death flag is damn too high right now, any either of Takaki, Chad or Aston can die anytime.

If author want to make super cliche drama, he'll go with Takaki, he's got Fuka; ---Biscuit v2.0----

Well.. Takaki is fine, Radice good as antag.
===================
I know its author's will to make drama, but still...
If i can blame someone, i'll blame Orga itself, poor placement, there's massive difference both quality and quantity between Tekkadan in Mars and Earth.

Rustal Elion is the real antagonist behind the scenes. He had Julieta put the flowers in the Aubrau parliament building to kill Makanai. I think I see a Julieta x masked man! Iok is jealous of masked man. Btw, Chad and Makanai ojicha are dead. Its Kill-em-all Okada time. Hopefully, Trump wins so anime will be banned in America.
