Okay, this is hilarious.

Near the climax of the first half, the situation was reversed. The other warriors were trapped within Talpa, and while they paralyzed Talpa, they were yelling at Ryo to strike them down. Ryo hesitates for the longest time and eventually lays down his arms in anguish. Here, while Ryo paralyzed Talpa yelling at everyone else to strike Talpa down, the other warriors just charged in. That's just great.

Anyways, we got callbacks to the first opening and ending animations, evil is defeated, the world is saved, and I'm totally fine with this ending. I can't believe it's been over a decade since I've seen this. Of course, it hasn't aged well as it reeks of 90s dialogue, but that corniness does have a lot of nostalgia attached to it. I'm glad to have finally finished it.

That was a fitting conclusion for this anime, I just wished we had one or two more episodes so we could go more in depth on this final confrontation with Arago.
I guess Kayura and the 3 Warlords will rebuild the Netherworld, neat. Also were they playing baseball with the Jewel of Life in the middle of the streets of Shinkuju? Lol

But that aside what a great show, the theme, the naiveness, the nostalgic 80's aesthetics, the colors and shading, the cel animation, the city lights, the way technology is portrait, the great character and armor design (both enemies and heroes) and the transformations were all awesome and the heavy Sengoku and Edo period influence that created an awesome style for the series.

The lore may have it's downsides but overall this is now a classic for me and a straight banger, can't wait to watch the OVAs.

I loved the nostalgia of this too. The watercolor backgrounds, the general atmosphere of the show, the character designs are all awesome. The dialogue is cheesy and the characters have no depth to them, but that's okay. Still a fun show.
