Miyo and Kiyoka deserved to have some peace and time alone after all the chaos in these recent episodes.

Looks like Gifted Communion is becoming a threat but Kiyoka vows to protect Miyo. Kiyoka asked about how she really feel about him but I guess we'll get an actual answer in the future. A slower paced buildup episode but an important one.

“He’s 28, he’s probably used to all that hot stuff, because he’s at THAT age after all” .. ah, I mean no lol, I can bet. Still Miyo is too pure, as you can see we’re getting constant reminders about the calamity approaching, but yeah, the calamity Miyo is worried about is if she an indecent girl or not for thinking about that kiss lol. I mean there are bigger things to worry about, ma’am, as you know, the gifted communion and Usui deem you as their prime target after all.

New year visit might be cut short, but hey, I guess living in the emperor's palace, for whatever reasons, is something of a new year gift itself. Pretty sure Usui would attack there eventually, and if those dreams are anything to go by, it’s almost inevitable. Arata might be acting pretty normal for now, but I mean yeah, those talks about traitor and all won’t help his case much going forward. Though I’d like to know who that person actually is, as yeah, Kaoruko, ain’t that one I mean, she’s helping and such after all lol. Good to see she didn’t get sidelined:)

Defo has been a eventful year for sure for both of them. The first visit to a shrine after a new year is always such a magical exp. Playing on people's fears is a classic when strife is their main goal. While the palace looks impressive the fact that the emperor already got kidnapped once really doesn't inspire confidence. Still Miyo sure got assigned a huge room. And im glad that she wasn't alone either. The potential for traitors within the highest level of government though sounded pretty grim though.

I just can't be relaxed by this anime because there's alway an uneasy feeling, a cloudy atmosphere.

Despite the significant age difference between Miyo and Kiyoka by the standards of our time, their relationship is undeniably sweet, and despite facing many obstacles in their year-long relationship, they both have the desire to be together forever.

So there's an insider inside the government helping Naoshi. It was kind of obvious, but I hope it's not Arata, I've grown to like him. Also, it wouldn't make much sense for it to be him, since Naoshi contacted Arata after the "incident" with Kaoruko's father.

“It’s been a great year because I got to meet you” Ahhh it truly has been a beautiful and eventful year full of growth for everyone, but think of how much Miyo’s life has changed in such a short time. Seeing her genuinely happy even with all the background conspiracy stuff warms my heart so much ❤️

Until Miyo said it today,I didn’t even clock that they have a 10 year age gap! I knew he was a bit older, but didn’t know it was that much. That’s actually perfect for Miyo considering what she’s been through. She really needs someone experienced, kind and patient.

I know they’re monsters, but still feels wrong to see Grotequeries used as a circus attraction. Good on the military for breaking that up, but shows you how bold Gifted Communion are becoming. They’re not just trying to physically fight the government, but also get the people on their side. That origami bird Kiyoka gave Miyo to use in an emergency is def gonna be important.

Oh shit, Usui being able to see Miyo in the dream sight was creepy as hell. Was that like a time loop thing where he actually saw her in the past coming from the future or is he able to plant traps in her ability? Either way, pretty scary and it sucks Miyo doesn’t have her mom to be able to ask for guidance.

And we’re at the imperial palace with the two most important people in the country! What could go wrong? Arata is 1000 percent working with Usui and about to snake Miyo, but you can tell he’s still a bit conflicted about it. Every scene with he and Kiyoka is so tense now and it’s gonna suck because Kiyoka had just started trusting him and now he’ll do this shit.

Honestly, I never realised the age gap between Miyo and Kiyoka until she mentioned his age while in deep thought. Regardless, Kiyoka's experience is a good thing for her to be reassured and protected, given the current circumstances involving Naoshi Usui.

Speaking of, Miyo's dream had her witness more of Naoshi, who seemed to be aware of her presence before she woke up. Maybe that's more foreshadowing of what he might to next, who knows. Either way, members of the Gifted Communion are gaining traction with the public with their displays involving small grotesqueries to sell their methods. While the military are doing the right thing in taking them down, it almost feels like a battle that can't be won.

So it felt right that Miyo would be kept safe at the imperial palace along with those close to her. Having said that, Arata still has that conflicted look on his face, even though he's in charge of protecting Miyo. As much as I don't want it to happen, there's a chance that Arata could betray those close to him. The next few episodes should tell whether my worries do come true or not.

I'm curious if this is one of those shows that they set up someone up and making them look like they are the traitor, but they end up not being the traitor.

It me or is having Miyo and the Prince being in same place not really a good idea. They are both wanted by the bad guys, and I have a bad feeling them being in the same area.

There was nothing special about this episode. It would seem that there is no freedom of speech in this empire....lol. Why is the fact that Miyo cannot use her ability only now being addressed? She awakened last season, and we have spent more than half of this season ignoring the fact that she is incapable of using her abilities. Arata is going to teach her, but it seems he has been corrupted by Usui. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to pull one of on Usui but I wouldn't bet on it either.

Arata definitely looks like the traitor especially since he disappeared for a while after the conversation with Usui. Prince Takaheita having dreams of a terrible calamity and a sacrifice. I wonder if he is seeing his own death or someone else. It makes sense he would be conflicted about it.

@Lightsrevenge I honestly doubt Arata is the traitor, it wouldn't really make sense given his character and position. Besides it would end up leaving a plot hole if he was. Maybe he actually is but after season 1 I really can't see him helping Usui, besides there's a number of other reasons he could be acting up for.

@MewsicMagic yeah I think it’s probably a misdirection , the conversation with Usui and his disappearance.

This episode has too many allegories of what's happening in the world right now...

This episode and the next two covers LN 5 so it may feel slow.

I'm a bit disappointed that they did not show the familiar scary form of the grotesquery. Instead, they made it to look like a chicken.

Other than that, I like this episode.

@Tigergirl16

That's exactly the rationale. Both Miyo and the Prince have to be guarded. If it's one place, they can concentrate all forces.

I understand your concern though.
