I admire Miyo's work ethic. When she put her mind into something it, it seems she will do whatever it takes to get the job done. In those maid clothes, she's in work mode this episode.

Kiyoka is still looking out after her so I see their relationship growing deeper this season.

You know, they say that army never makes mistakes, that their reports are always correct, no matter what ...

But then someone should tell that old lady from that little village, or that distraught man at the end that they must be mistaken ... you see there are no demons around the village, they are all inside The Kudou's Mansion, and by all i mean one specifically ... Someone should call the demon hunting squad right away 👀.

But hey, not surprised that they are doing the "she's actually a good person uno reverse", also a bonding moment is about to happen between Miyo and Mom ?

Evil mother who’s… evil for reasons we don’t know yet, has to be the most cartoonish evil we’ve seen in this series yet. I mean I’m still saying this when we once had Miyo’s mother and her sister competing for this position, so yeah, it just shows how hilarious was she in everything she did from the very first minute of this episode. Calling Miyo an “Uncivilized animal”... what??? Even her insults are something which elementary school kids stopped using long back itself lol.

Not sure why everyone wants to make a servant out of Miyo and not sure why SHE SIMPLY DOES THAT WITHOUT EVEN REFUSING, even after all this time, but okay that is debatable, but yeah, mother should simply enjoy retirement life at this point. Not an unknown cult working behind the scenes as well in the midst of this family drama, though yeah it does feel like this would go hand in hand with the conflict around mother. I mean see, how desperately Miyo wanted to prove herself in the end in front of the mother, who’s an absolute annoyance throughout. Btw, I just hope Arata’s presence wouldn’t create more misunderstanding with the mother.

Anyway, she also looks good in the maid uniform.

Fuyu is not only the worst as a mother-in-law, but she is also the worst as a human being. tbh, If that girl wasn't Miyo, she would be killed already.

I'm getting quite tired of Miyo. Didn't she go through this already? Didn't she learn anything from it? At least with the step mother and sister you could excuse her by saying that she was brainwashed since childhood. But this b*tch didn't raise her. She is openly hostile from the get go towards someone she just met. She insults her, treats her like a servant and attempts to physically abuse her. AND MIYO JUST TAKES IT?! She saw the day before that her fiancé is on her side and will oppose his mother if necessary. But no, instead of telling him about the abuse, she actually COMPLIMENTS HER! What the actual F?! And on top of that she apologises to HER when her husband rightfully scolds her (which is good, but he should have also intervened when he saw her wearing a maid uniform and doing chores, not just when she was about to be hit). If there is one thing I can't stand is characters that are so unrealistically good, that actually turn into doormats. I liked the first season because Miyo's family get their comeuppance at the end, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they're going to attempt a redemption moment with the b*tch in law. I hope I'm wrong, but if they end up going there, I'm done with this show. Sorry, not sorry.

For the longest time I thought "My Happy Marriage" is quite a misleading title, then I realized that for a fair comparison, her "happy" must be compared to people at that time, which is about 100 years ago when people are struggling to survive, not our time when people can easily find happiness on smartphone.

Miyo looks cute in maid uniform, but it's cruel of Fuyu to order her to change into that and do housework. But somehow, Miyo seems to see something good in that piece of shit human being.

For a moment, I thought Miyo had accepted his malicious mother-in-law's orders. But since the first season, Miyo has grown up a lot; maybe before he would have trembled and obeyed, but now he only accepts to help Kiyoka. She would even give her life for him to support the only person who supports her.

Even if Miyo wants a good relationship with her mother-in-law, Fuyu is still trash in my eyes because of her behaviour. If they say her attitude is because she's the mistress of the Kudou clan and she has to act like that so as not to disgrace the clan, I don't care. It's just an excuse.

The mom seems determined to treat Miyo badly it seems. Being able to earn the trust of the servants though was a nice bonus. Shadowy mansions do have a habit of luring in unsavoury types like dodgy religious groups after all. Ones that have Psi's in their ranks. Feels like the village attack is a diversion while the main strike strikes elsewhere.

The way Miyo took Fuyu’s goading bullshit like a champ and just got on with the cleaning tasks is so commendable. Lord knows I would’ve cursed her dumbass out. Nothing can break this girl’s spirit, I love her sm.

Idc about the mom’s sob story, she’s a bitch. Forced to be the head of the household and raise Kiyoka or not, there’s no excuse for being so nasty to someone your son’s chosen to marry and brought home. The dad’s a bitch for allowing her that too. Like it seems like he got her on somewhat of a leash, but he should’ve told her from the jump that her behavior towards Miyo was insane, not just when she was about to hit her.

Lore finally getting going! I’m guessing the nameless order are the people the prince is worried about trying to overthrow the country? And the guy Kiyoka ran into looked like whoever was tailing Miyo in episode 1. But what’re they planning. And who tf let Arata in lmao 🤔 maybe the order are prepared for Usuba intervention and hid something in peoples’ heads to prevent that? Need next ep!

I have no sympathy for Kiyoka's mother and the stated reason for being this way does not satisfy me at all. I really hope there is more than what meets the eye because I don't want this character taint everything else I like about the show.

Even though she took the maid outfit, Miyo has cleary gotten stronger than in season one. Her mental development is tangible.

@otakuweek I think Kiyoka mother should wear this maid uniform and do the cleaning instead, slap in the face for that bish who thinks she has all privileges in the world. I think cleaning for her would be trauma since all she can do is to drink a tea and insult everyone around, something tells me that Miyo will use her skills against her later to save Kiyoka later in further episodes cos his family is behind this all demons things, its only my wild guess...

Miyo proved her mother in law that nothing could break her and even gained the praise and trust of the servants of Kudo household..❤️❤️✨
Mio and Kiyoka's tough childhood is what molded them into the perfect souls as they are now. In a way, they can be thankful for that. But the parents shouldn't continue to treat their kids the same way as once they were. It's about time Fuyu madeup with Kiyoka..'cause she had already raised a wonderful son and there's no need for her to maintain the tough mother act anymore.

I like how we got to see similarities between Kiyoka and his mother as well as Miyo and Kiyoka's mother, since they feel the weight of responsilities and, in Miyo and Fuyu's case, want to be more than just a nice wife but actually contribute. At first I wanted Miyo to tell Fuyu that she deserves to be there and isn't a servant and won't tolerate how Fuyu is treating her. But as the episode continued, I saw that her putting on the servant uniform and doing the housework showed she was knowledgeable and wouldn't back down in the face of Fuyu's intimidation.

Miyo continues to get the rough treatment from Fuyu, but I do like how she handled the situation. Doing all of the chores in the mansion not only defied what Fuyu wanted to see, but it also gained Miyo the respect from all the other servants of the household.

Despite that, it's still a shame that Fuyu's stubborn pride gets the better of her judgement and still continues to doubt Miyo's potential, even when dealing with an injured villager. Here, seeing Miyo showing determination in wanting to help, despite the risks of using her abilities, was admirable. In the end, Arata arrived on the scene and call out to Miyo to stop using her powers.

As for Kiyoka, he's already getting into the thick of the new enemy, which looks to be a demonic cult and the problems relating to that is only to be on the rise. Dealing with this issue will be tricky, but hopefully Kiyoka and Arata can play a big part in sorting this all out in the end.

God, in between some of the superficial aspects of the show, some of the not so superficial ones, and the reactions I'm seeing here I feel like I'm going insane.

I'm team Fuyu btw, or more specifically, team "I can understand that, in it's usual fashion, this show is exaggerating the traits of its characters so that people get emotionally worked up one way or another and by doing so it actually comes off as melodramatic and appealing to drama loving queens, while the rest of people watching are turned off or generally displeased".

Here's a reminder that mr. brother-cousin over there used to be a villain kidnapper who wanted to tear the main couple apart, and now he's an ally. Just taking miyo, the tragic saint that she is at face value, which is all that's really necessary to know where the show is going, it's easy to see how the evil "malicious" mom as I saw someone say, is actually, in layman's terms, just a tsundere.

If there's anyone at whom I felt annoyed, it is actually miyo, who after all that shit she's gone through is still not equipped to deal with these situations in any way other than cleaning the ass of her doubters with her own lips and tongue. All the dignity and confidence of a wet puppy. I get where Fuyu is coming from, despite her coming across so crass and hateful, not wanting someone so feeble looking and unable to act to burden the son she clearly cares about.

Also, the asmr acoustic trick sucks. Only Ueda Reina and Ishikawa Kaito apparently were told to act while eating the microphone. The disparity between the audio of those 2 and the rest of the voices is so annoying. More appealing to the target audience I suppose.

Like how they gain-boost the ever living shit out of the bass of ban taito's lines as jinwoo in solo leveling to the point it distorts when he raises his voice even slightly, which is even worse when he does inner monologue since the audio is also vacuumed, in order to make his voice seem even deeper and more ominous than it already is.

Honestly I completely forgot how good this show was, I remember it dulling towards the end of the first season but honestly so far this season has been amazing. I love that this show actually has an interesting and competent male lead and even Miyo has had great development into a competent female mc.

You know, it's only been a few months since Miyo left the Saimori household and started living with Kiyoka. 19 years of neglect and abuse isn't going to change over night. The fact she went through all that makes her tough enough to put up with Fuyu's assault. Miyo is actually getting stronger than she was at the Saimori Residence and standing up for her self more. She would never question, answer back or disobey orders from her stepmother, however, at the Kudo estate, she's standing her ground and basically telling Fuyu that she is going to marry Kiyoka whether she likes it or not and will do whatever it takes to do so.

I'd recommend not dropping it

@Ilhan391 If Kiyoks doesn’t even like his mother and does not even see her as a mother, she has no right to boss Miyo. I feel like Miyo gained s lot of confidence at the end of S1 and now it’s all gone. S2 is just feeling like a rehash of S1, with the romance and plot going no where.

The novelty of the cartoonishly evil mother-stepmother figure has worn out its welcome. I wish the author actually knew how to write characters with a little more depth and nuance to them. Miyo's lack of character growth and development isn't helping either. I see people saying she is starting to stand up for herself but is she really? She is doing all the same things she did last season. She is just taking the abuse with a smile and keeping it to herself. She had an opportunity to tell Lord Kudo what happened, and she lied and even said that the mother is a warm person when she is as cold as ice. The cult storyline needs to get more screen time because what is happening at the Kubo estate is not written well enough to carry this series for another season. It is basically a rehashing of what Miyo has already been through.

As I stated in episode 1 discussion any growth that Miya experienced in season 1 has gone out the window and we are basically back at square 1.

@yagakimilover For me, it's the mother's poor writing. The reason doesn't make sense; it's just accepted by Kiyoka's father and the head maid. They have not gone into any real detail on what happened to make her change. It's so bland and surface-level, right? I will admit it does have some potential to make the character more interesting, but as it stands right now, there is no nuance or depth to it.

Miyo only stands up for herself as she did against her stepmother and sister in the last season. She hasn't taken the next step even though she has had the opportunity to do so. The only difference here is she is being made to clean the house instead of being tortured for it. The best example of her not growing is when she tells her mother she is an Usuba. The mother clearly knows nothing about her and is making assumptions this was a great opportunity to show what little growth she has had since last season, and it was a spectacular failure. People are mad about the cousin stopping her, but he probably saved her life here, it's just as the mother said they do not know what is wrong with that man and she could be endangering herself and everyone else in the house.

@Ilhan391 Even if this is the case the way the author is going about it is in poor taste. I get the feeling the mother wants his son with a strong woman and Miyo is not showing her that in the slightest. Miyo is still so weak and has definitely lost the character development she gained in season 1 so that the author could recycle the evil stepmother plotline to start this season.

With the way things are going, it's now confirmed that Kinema Citrus will adapt up to Volume 6.

If they would have adapted only volumes 3 and 4, the young man would only appear in Episode 5 and we will have 2 or 3 episodes of Miyo working as a servant. Fuyu is shit testing her because she thought she is spoiled. On the contrary, the abuse the Saimori gave her is worse than Fuyu's worst. In a way, it's a blessing in disguise.

So see, Fuyu is bad but she's an angel compared to the Saimori.

One detail that I'm a bit disappointed is that Miyo did not mention here as in the novels that the maid uniform is better than anything she wore in the Saimori estate.

So ladies and gentlemen, Miyo did not regress contrary to many of your expectations, so all the rage last week is now laughable.

If it wasn't made obvious in the anime, I understand. According to volume 3 LN, what Miyo did in Episode 12 of Season 1 was a fluke. At this point in time, she was advised not to use her Dream-Sight ability unless supervised by Arata. If Arata did not stop her, who knows. She might lose her life.

I hope I'm wrong, but if they end up going there, I'm done with this show. Sorry, not sorry.
@Kali_85 Feeling the EXACT same way. This episode stretched my suspense of disbelief too much. Maybe I'll come back when all the episodes are available.

Does the author ever get tired of presenting this kind of cartoonish antagonists all the time? Seriously, the portrayal of Fuyu's character is so bland it's almost laughable.

Literally, everything just to make Miyo miserable and Kiyoka to have an opportunity to show he loves her.

I don't really know why I bothered starting this season. It repeats the same pattern everytime: Miyo is bullied for no reason but she doesnt even have an urge to defend herself, Kiyoka defends her, some demons, the end.

I'm really tempted to drop it and I hate dropping series.
