| No no Moroboshi Sena I'm the one who's excited for the day when you two race together. Really wholesome stuff with Kanata spending time with Ren's family. Was great to see the four of them enjoy their time together. Some old faces appeared too. So Iketani's still single, didn't he have a love interest but some misunderstanding happened? So it didn't work out for them after all. The upgraded 86 is also here. Felt like a season finale tbh but still 3 episodes to go so more cliffhanger for sure. |

| Lovely long ED in the end there, it's one of the better EDs of the season for me and I'm glad that they know it's a good piece too, lol. Kanata trying to return a favour back by treating Ren and her parents, that's sweet! I'm looking forward to the upgraded 86 next episode. @CyStarkman Damn, sounds like a vibe! |

| Fujiwara's student in an 86, Takahashi's student in a Supra. Can zero update the 86 such that Kanata can make 5th place even without environmental factors giving some advantage? Kanata talks about his father's jaguar never thought I'd see Sainsbury's in an anime.  ITSUKI AND KENJI GOT MARRIED BEFORE IKETANI damnnn. If he hadn't stood Mako up all those years ago.. Ren is already planning to take Kanata's surname. |

| Ren is so pretty I just wish she wasn’t such a Kanata simp lol, respect to her for wanting to help Kanata connect with his family though. The dad really fell off the face of the earth. In a sense, he did find family today with him calling Ren’s dad papa ❤️ |

Nice episode overall since it was a unwinding one. We got enough info on 86's upgrade, meeting the next big rival plus some social bonding before we get to the next race.

| Itsuki and Iketani still working on the ptrol station, that seems sad. You would assume they should have taken a new job and prgressed on their careers now. And Iketani is still single, still couldnt get over of Mako? A bit of a slow episode, how sweet from Kanat for trying to return the favour on Ren's family and he used his pay from his part time job instead of the winnings from the race. |

Sena is probably named after the legendary F1 champ. Also supra is my favorite car but the yellow color looks dull, I prefer it orange. Also you're right for a racing anime this has the feel of slice of life anime with all the beautiful shinto shrines and Buddhist temples , rainy backgrounds and cozy dinner. I thought it would be a apocalyptic world because it's set after the of the mount fuji eruption I like the rainy settings and the background art makes fantastic wallpaper of choice for me.  |

| I wasn't expecting to see Sainsbury's of all names appearing in anime, but here we are. I do find it funny that the main name on the store was altered, but to the left and right of it, you can still see the unedited "Sainsbury's Bank" name on the building. XD Overall, this was a pretty chill episode. Kanata and Ren heading out together once again is always nice to watch, especially when they shared their own experiences with their grandparents/parents having a car breakdown. I do feel sorry for Kanata's grandfather for having to sell his vintage Jaguar Mk2 because Kanata's mother was angry at how unreliable it was. =( On another note, it was a nice nostalgic feeling in seeing Itsuki, Kenji and Iketani once again at the familiar petrol (Now looks to be an EV) station. Itsuki and Kenji being married is surprising, but Iketani not only being single, but also balding was another surprise. Poor guy still can't catch a break, huh... Seeing Kanata's Toyota 86 flying after getting the turbo upgrade was fun, as was listening to the turbo whistles and flutters as Kanata floored it, with Ogata panicking in the passenger seat. I look forward to seeing how Kanata will perform in the next race with these upgrades. Hopefully the result will be worth it. |

I think they try to keep the same vibe that initial d had in which we saw not only racing but the life of fujiwara so the topic of the anime having the genre slice of life is not so weird I believe |
| The calm after the storm... A full episode away from racing and dogfights. I really like that suggestion to outright change the car from a Toyota GT86 to a GR Supra, it's almost better for every day except that it's burlier, heavier and isn't as nimble as the GT86, something which can be somewhat tuned and handled with training. Unfortunately, of course, Kanata doesn't want it. So as if the Universe is listening, here comes Keisuke's personal disciple with his flashy yellow GR Supra stopping by to announce his presence and pay respects. Yeah, if he's sticking with the GT86, he NEEDS that TURBOCHARGER! Seems like Kanata is willing to compromise the Naturally Aspirated nature of his GT86 with a substantial forced induction mechanic. The jump from the GT86's sub-200HP figure to around 300HP is pretty huge, though not the full extent of what turbocharging can do. No major turbo-lag and potential for knocking on the 86's boxer engine, that's good. The new carbon bonnet and titanium exhaust tips are awesome as well! Aside from the visual change, you can hear a very distinct turbo whistle as it spools up, followed by a very faint blow-off valve. The GT86 has been powered up! I wonder if we'll ever see Kanata taking what Takumi did with his AE86. Replacing the stock block and changing it with a custom forged race-engine. Doing that and THEN putting on a bigger turbo or even twin turbo would make the GT86 a proper beast on the race! |

| lol itsuki and iketani still at the gas electric station. i dont know how to feel seeing they haven't changed much. happy that itsuki got married though. lol @ iketani's receeding hairline. i liked how the author put thatscene as a little fan-service for the people coming from initial-d. everything about the whole interaction was straight up nostalgia. they gotta be in their 40s now for sure. |

| I really enjoyed this episode, it actually gave the characters some screentime so that your brain could register them as something more than just moving drawings. also shout out to the madlad animator who hand-drew the underbody of the 86, it's literal porn. Looks like something that should belong in a 90s anime  |

| Not too shocking that Itsuki or Iketani still work at the same gas station. What is shocking is who the heck would marry and have kids with someone who still works at the same gas station since they were in High School. Unless Itsuki somehow charmed some high executive woman who is the bread winner, I doubt Itsuki could afford to raise a family still working at the same place he has since he was a teenager. lol |

| 5th place is going to be hard to achieve even by upgrading the car but we'll see, meanwhile the Kanata moments with his adoptive family are good, hopefully he'll find his father, it was nice to see him paying the restaurant to Ren and her parents! |

| Sena Moroboshi in line to join MFG from the 3rd race, and meeting Kanata, this is the meeting of the next generation prodigies, which if given the chance, the battle would be legendary. As much as Ogata wants to swap the 86 out for a Supra, Kanata resists, which in turn, helps Okuyama be challenged to help better fine-tune it to what he wants. This is exactly Takumi Fujiwara's philosophy to drive underpowered cars that would beat the competition, and regardless of the decisions, the 86 turbo project is on. A little downtime with Kanata and Ren to keep on searching for Kanata's parents, and it's safe to say that he'll keep on searching until the races start. The next Manazuru Peninsula race impending, and the Saionji family meal with Kanata and his hard-earned job certainly builds the relationship, though Ren's mother Mayuko stole the show for trying to be friendly towards Kanata, which earns the ire of their daughter. The 86 turbo project certainly proves the much-needed upgrade, and let's see of its improved performance. |
