Man, the studio is really holding this anime back with the low quality animation. Hardly captures the magic of the manga, I hope they're just saving the budget for the crazy fights that are about to go down. If they ruin #1 best girls entrance I'm going to cry.

I'm rather disappointed with this 2nd episode.
After reading the manga, which is darker; this on the other hand feels like a joke. They're mocking the story! SMH.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Haha, I can't believe Noel sold both of her teammates. And what surprised me the most is finding out that Tanya actually likes Noel. LOL, just imagine what Tanya was thinking when she was being sold by Noel at that moment

Honestly, I don’t mind the edginess. It’s the only thing that’s different about the show
- Noel is a bitch, lol
- The haggling scene was funny. Was the Roswall’s VA?
- Love it when a generic blond fantasy girl goes nuts.

4/5, I have mixed feelings but overall like Noel. He doesn't seem like a bad guy, more like a chaotic neutral. Those 2 definitely earned punishment and as we saw neither of them had any regret and blamed others for their actions. She might have liked Noel, but she was very much a low-value woman as leader was a low-value man. In this world, [indefinite(?)] slavery is better than 10-years of labor camp. While I don't like the slave trade thing, I do like the trader. I'm disappointed he didn't beat her up too, but I guess female slaves are more likely to lose value from beating than male slaves as that's how the fucked up world is.

and what's crazy is that Walter revealed that Tanya was in love with Noel but he did her absolutely dirty she did not expect that

I really respect Noel's decision.

Rather than being known only as "a seeker who has been betrayed and robbed by his former two members" and being pitted, he prefers to be "a ruthless seeker who punishes whoever wronged him even if it's his colleague" and is being talked about. At the very least whoever is crazy enough to join him in the future has the same vision as him.

Hopefully, the studio could deliver with the fight scenes since we'll have some crazy battles ahead.

Those two got what they deserved lmao no way they decided to gamble away the money they all earned, and Tanya even tried to act innocent.

They caught up to them way quicker than I thought they would though lol it went from the scene at the city gate, and then jumped right behind them.

Also that snake skin at the end felt very really weird and convenient lol there just happened to be a snake's shed skin there just so the MC could be reminded that he needs to get stronger.

Not sure how to feel about this show so far though. It's okay, but not sure if I'll stick around until the end. I'll give it one more episode before I decide, but I'm leaning more towards dropping this I think.

I really thought Walter would have tried to save those scum and end up getting himself killed for the plot. Even though he quit being a seeker, I'm glad he made it out alive and free.

Now it's time for Noel to rebuild the blue beyond, this time with reliable members

I thought it was really good that he went through with it and didn't use pity to change his mind like many other main characters in this situation. Even though what he did can definitely be despised I find it very refreshing that he doesn't give a f*** about the opinion of others

Yeah things have gotten a lot more interesting with Noel not taking crap from anyone and making everyone pay their debts, kind of refreshing IMO. I gotta admit that I was not expecting for those 2 to end up being sold to slavery but apparently its better than going to prison where Noel said the survival rate was 2%.

Now I'm interested in seeing how Noel rebuilds his team and I'm thinking that he may take the leadership role this time (or at least he should).

Interesting MC. He is cunning, smart, ruthless. It was a good idea to sell them off as slaves, to help pay back what those two traitors took. Sad to see Walter go.
Curious how he goes from here, but the OP and cover art tells what his next group of party member will be.

His grandfather is a good and kind man. He didn't throw him out, instead he taught him skills needed to survive.

Noel isn't likable at all but I gotta give it to the author that he at least has a personality and doesn't act like every vanilla MC in 95% of shows would: talk it out with the group, convince them to atone for their sins and work hard to pay back the stolen funds and make the party/guild a big success together with everyone holding hands and singing songs.

You should refer Cid Kagenou as well from Eminence in Shadow, literally one of the best protagonist around. Doesn't waste time, solves the problem quickly by killing opponents with no mercy and whatever he does effects the world without him even knowing lmao

pretty obvious Tanya liked him with that scene as they disbanded their clan meeting, seems it was a pretty flimsy crush tho based on how things played out 🤣

This anime would be so boring if the MC was a pushover like the other 90% are in the many genre's with a male lead. Though I guess the people not liking the MC are probably new to anime and prefer their doormat MC's till they seen enough to get tired of it like some of us have.

The show seems to be trying to portray Noel as cunning and ruthless, but he's coming off as stupid and mean. Selling his teammates after they betray him is fine, but why does he treat the warrior like shit? Why does he disrespect and insult the team of people who helped him catch the traitors and just asked for the money they were owed?

How is needlessly alienating what few allies he has and turning everyone else into enemies for no reason the mark of a smart MC? You can be an asshole and a smart MC...by keeping your asshole nature inside and playing like you're a good person even if you don't trust anyone and are planning on just using them. This MC? he just drives away allies and makes enemies for no reason. The only way he's going to get a new team is by bad writing and plot armor. He's a moron.

Did you even watch the episode completely? The guy clearly emphasized how Walter was a great warrior. Yes he was somewhat rude, however he was being objective and less of a prick towards him than you’re claiming. Anyway, it was satisfying seeing how he didn’t give a crap about those traitors

I love it when a male mc is different than the traditional blank slate type. Yea I get he could turn people off because of how cruel he can be, but that’s a good thing too because he’s different. That’s partially why I like Cid Kagenou.

@Animillion Noel saying one nice thing after spending their entire relationship treating him like shit doesn't make him less of a self-sabotaging asshole. There is a difference between being smart and vindictive and being stupid and vindictive. Noel is stupid and vindictive. He is needlessly cruel to not just his enemies, which is fine, but his allies, to the extent that--as I said before--the only way he's ever going to get any long term allies is by bad writing and/or plot armor. Or by getting smarter and learning to not be an raging asshole to people he's trying to work with, I suppose. Maybe he'll engage in personal growth in episode 2. That would be nice.

Its nice for now nothing special but decent. Tho I do have a problem with one thing in this ep Noel did say that he never trusted his teammates But the money was staying in one person that he didn’t control which doesn’t make sense for his character who’s portrayed as a smart.

Vengeance, I love. Protagonists not letting themselves be walked over, I love. Selling off party members into slavery and somehow not expecting that behavior to deter your lone party member from leaving your ass, I hate. Did this dude honestly expect any self-respecting hero to stay after seeing how brutal he was to the ex-fellow members? I'm not saying they shouldn't be punished (I just got off watching another anime where the protagonist forgave something and forwent punishment for party members that absolutely deserved it). I don't understand why some people are saying this dude is an antihero, he's just a straight edgy asshole. There aren't ANY heroic qualities about this boy. Good on Walter for leaving, it's only a matter of time before Noel finds an unsavory, nasty way to use him.

Just wanna share a fun fact with you: the slave trader, Finocchio Barzini, that name cracked me up as an italian. You see, the character pretty much the stereotypical LGBTQ, and Finocchio is an italian slur that indicates a male homosexual.

Wait nah I might’ve misjudged this lmao this shit is fire. Nothing generic about this one at all. I thought they would just let Tanya and Lloyd off with a slap on the wrist or just charge their betrayal to the game, but Noel tracking them down, publicly humiliating them and then selling them off to slavery is CRAZY. What an episode.

I hate goody goody two shoes MC’s with a passion so seeing one be straight savage and get revenge with no hesitation is great. Noel doesn’t care how long you been with him, if you double cross and lie you’re going to pay the consequences. Tanya begging Walter to save her there at the end and then just berating him when he wouldn’t step in.. el o fucking el. You didn’t pay bro any attention before now want him to save you 😂. No sympathy for them, they could’ve got help for their addiction.

Honestly don’t blame Walter for leaving Noel. They had great times together but seeing Noel so easily turn Lloyd and Tanya over to the slavers would’ve made anyone pause lmao. Can’t wait to see the new blue beyond.
@Marinate1016 Walter's decision is something that is so understandable

It took a really dark turn in this episode. I am a lot like Noel in this way, anyone who dare to betrayed me I will never forgive, so I can understand where he's coming from.
But if he's 100% brutal then I am probably only around 80 lol
I really liking this anime.
@Kai200X you know he is not 100% brutal since he was sad when Walter was telling him about Tanya, so I guess he really didn't want to do that from the bottom of his heart, I really like this kind of characters.
I want to see Walter again he was fun to watch.

@HOOfan_1 The torturing rapist from Redo of a Healer was smart enough to outwardly pretend not to be an asshole, because he understood that making everyone hate you for no benefit isn't helpful. He manipulated his allies into thinking he was acting to help people, he manipulated the populace into thinking he was saving the princess who he was actually torturing. THAT'S a smart character.

Unlike Noel, who is not smart enough to treat his allies with even fake respect and not smart enough to not deliberately make enemies of everyone around him for no reason. I don't understand how the summary can describe Noel as "silver tongued" when all he does is insult literally everyone.

Predictable outcome cause selling them to slavery was the only way I could think of to get the money back so yeah. Felt bad for those two and mc seemed ruthless but they had it coming given they betrayed them and decided to run instead of talking things out but gambling addicts are the worse kind of addicts so they were beyond help I guess. Also wait she actually liked the mc? What good will this info do now lol.
