These latest episodes really dealt with a lot of lore and background storytelling. This one also told more storytelling about Kawashita.

Speaking of which, we do also get Taiyo vs Kawashita in a fierce fight. Seems in this arc, Taiyo really isn't holding back anymore.

Raghhh this shit is too peak man I swear if you’re not on Yozakura at this point you’re just missing out on some of the best shonen around. Amazing episode. It’s never been fuck Kawashita more.

Even with the tragic sob story and noble intentions, his actions have gone way beyond just wanting to make the world better. The suffering he’s caused innumerable people is unforgivable. I’m sure at one point he was a decent dude who just hated seeing the suffering from the war, but nah he’s gotta die for what he’s done. I am really curious about the OG Yozakura head though. What ended up happening to her?

The Taiyo Kawashita fight was so damn good. Proud of my boy Taiyo, he’s come so far. Just never gives up and always finds a way to get back up after being knocked down, but today was his hardest challenge yet. Really had his back against the wall until the rest of the family showed up.

That cliffhanger though! Taiyo as the axis, one chance to stop Kawashita.. the suspense is killing me, need this episode asap

They may be similar in a way. They have both been caught up by a head of the Yozakura. Their ambitions couldn't be any more different though. Kawashita's crazy attempt at evolution by using what Tsubomi gave him vs Taiyou trying to assure that the family's power doesn't fall in to the wrong hands.

Have to say Tsubomi was quite the woman to support his ambition. You could even say Kawashita set out on this plan out of love for her.

Ah, we're ending on that? It'll be fun see this next fight get animated.

Taiyo catching up to Kawashita, only for the latter to execute his mind link to the former bringing back the memories of his past of his Hazakura experiments with the Yozakura Family's 1st head Tsubomi, it was a string of conscience as the generations go on, with Mutsumi finally being the ray of hope for Tanpopo to realize Tsubomi's sacrificial dreams. And with Taiyo being inflicted with Mizuki's blood that fuses both new and old Yozakura blood together, as well as being shown Kawashita's long-aging hatred against the Yozakura Family, he was truly a one-man show trying to live up to Tsubomi's expectations and changing the world as they know their ideals to be.

That's the story of how Tanpopo is created from the basis of Tsubomi's dreams no matter how ludicrous the Seed-Sowing Project on Skeleton Island has been going on for years on end,, being thwarted by generations of the Yozakura Family. And as much as Kawashita takes pity on him, Taiyo still has the Blooming within him thanks to Mutsumi, to create a future where the new Family prospers without him. And the culmination that is Kawashita in full Hazakura Blossoming, the Yozakura Family is all here to help him out and take over the battle.

If Formation Nirvana didn't swept Kawashita away, the family with Taiyo's help for Formation Sakura Roots better do the trick.

Well, yeah, was pretty much expected by now that Makoto had some relations with Yozakura family in his past. Guess in a way, he technically is a Yozakura.

But yikes. If that combined attack didn't work, how the HELL is just Taiyo's inclusion alone gonna be able to stop whatever the hell Makoto has become.

I guessed those cherry blossom blooming maybe from a Yozakura family head blood but it's from first generation was so unexpected. I think Kawashita finally has a decently told back story now. Now I can see the choices he made just ain't for world destruction. Because of Tsubomi Yozakura he was able to live on and continue his mission of "equality" so he can make a world where she is ordinary. It's still fkd up and this guy deserves to die in worst possible way for all the war crimes. His life was really is at mercy of Yozakuras.

But unlike him Mutsumi got Taiyo's back with power of friendship love and she was able restart his blooming although even after destroying those tanks of Hazakura this dude is still standing as literal tree now after absorbing all the Hazakura. And fending off all the six siblings combo easily. Plot armour working in both ways..

While Momo, his wife's body and that old lady they are still isn't in picture.
It will be interesting to see how they end this with last episode.

So Makoto and Tsubomi (Mutsumi’s mother) made contact before. I wonder what would have happened if Makoto accepted to go with her. Tanpopo would not have been existed anymore.

Interesting episode and Yozakura is truly a united family. I love their energy and power.

So I take it that the Yozakura lady that saved Kawashita was Mutsumi's great x2 or x3 grandmother? Also, with Mutsumi's own mother missing she may be on that island too as I recall a brief scene of a Yozakura female that seemed to be preserved but they didn't show the face so not sure which Yozakura female that is (I think that was around 3 episodes ago).

On a related note they haven't shown the Yozakura father for a couple episodes now whom I assume is still lurking on that island. Hopefully those Yozakura family members will be addressed on the final episode.

That was definitely the best episode so far!
Now that we know that the Seed-Sowing Project was the wish of the first Yozakura head, it may not as bad as I thought if it succeeded.
This development reminds of Attack on Titan:

Unfortunately, the adaptation continues to disappoint me.
The music that played when the siblings entered was out of place after what we saw in the flashbacks.
I thought it was a bit too... happy. I sounded like they were invited by Kawashita to a party and that's the music he put on to welcome them.
Also the character expressions did not match up with the voices in many cases (mostly with Kawashita and Shion).
Thankfully they slowed down the pace for this episode; it would have been bad if it was like Shinzō's fight...
It's far from both a perfect adaptation and a terrible one, but I still believe it would have been better to delay this arc until next season.

You’re right, Makoto created Tanpopo thanks to Tsubomi’s help. They both helped in the creation of that organization.

@OtakuKun1 Tsubomi is not Mutsumi's mother she is her great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandmother.

@Alfredo-Sauce Mutsumi is the 10th head, if Tsubomi is the first then she'd be her great x7 grandmother.

@gorkthe134th I thought the background music in that scene was great. This series is a comedy after all, so to see everyone show up and crack jokes at Kawashita's expense paired with the OST was badass in its own way.

WOW, WHAT A MASSIVE PLOT TWIST!

The first head of the Yozakura family being the one who started it all—it's hard to place all the blame on her. She was just someone who either had extremely good luck or terribly bad luck with a genetic mutation that turned her into an all-powerful being. She transferred the Yozakura blood power via "bluetooth" to Kawashita.

I feel for the first family head; she had no idea Kawashita's plans would become so twisted, to the point of forcing the creation of the Someinina and Hazakura. I'm sure she believed that, with Kawashita’s help, the world would slowly become descendants of her blood naturally, without forcing people to either adapt to Hazakura or die trying. THAT is where Kawashita went completely off the deep end.

An interesting detail is how the first head of the family started with a blue streak in her hair, and now the ninth head, Mutsumi, has a white streak, closing the circle in reverse. Could this signify the end of the Yozakura bloodline? We'll find out in the next episode, and with that ending, it seems like Mutsumi's mother might finally be rescued.

iirc Mutsumi has a strand of white hair because of the accident involving Tanpopo (about which we know very little right now).
So my interpretation of the first head's appearance is that her hair was originally blue and most of it turned white from Kawashita’s experiments.
Even just knowing that there is a connection between Kawashita’s experiments and Mutsumi is terrifying.
I don't want to think about what he could have done to them. Seeing a needle is enough for me!
(Watching him draw blood is the most scary thing I saw yesterday (yes I find it scarier than most of what happened in the first episode of Uzumaki))

I'm curious if the skipped spoiler was skipped because of the Civil Code changes that happened since it appeared in the manga and we'll see it much later in the story instead. Although maybe they're going to wedge it in next week's episode? Should be interesting to see what happens with it.

It's a similar backstory to Taiyo's origin. The difference is that Taiyo is not up to something destructive. In this case, the 'power of love' saved them all. One more episode to go.
