Sad that my boy Aqua does not see Akane as a potential partner. She is so far the one who understands him the most and has always had direct conversations with him. And now that it has been revealed who the real father is, I feel that Aqua will truly need someone he can rely on; but as he keeps everyone out of it and now Akane is out of the picture, I guess he will be alone again.

Akane and Kana really are the best characters in this anime/manga, I love how different their personalities are but they have the same goals.

That moment between Aqua and Kana It was so cute and transparent, everything was very calm.

Akane on the other hand is a cunning and intelligent girl, she knows how to say what she feels openly, but even though she likes Akane, I feel like she doesn't love Aqua, but rather just feels like she has a "duty of replacement" for him saving her before.

I honestly love them both.

And the episode ends in the best possible way: tension.
Aqua/Ruby's father appears!

as a manga reader, I confess that this was one of the most anticipated scenes for me, and it was exactly as I expected.Man I love Doga Kobo, this studio puts so much love into ONK❤️✨

Bro, this episode was so stressful. Props to Akane for being so real, though, I wish she'd just come out and say what she knows. At her core, she's too selfless. Pure speculation, but she might be rooting for a breakup at this point. Perhaps she thinks Aqua has been through too much as it is and is now considering shouldering the blame of a murder on herself. Hopefully that's not the case because she doesn't deserve that.

Hang on, I'm not sure if I got this right. Does that mean Aqua's half-brother is actually Ai's son from the dead father?
If so, then she got banged pretty damn early lmao.
@Zarutaku No, it implies the newly found half-siblings share a father alright, and Ai isn't the only seduced mother to end up dead.

maybe im just really dumb right now, but can somebody explain me that "loophole" which akane is mentioning?
@Nepgear2206 i think it boils down to the fact that Aqua never considered the possibility that the man who died in the double suicide wasn't actually his or Himekawa's biological father

Another Great episode.

First we start on a light and fluff note with a hang out date with kana & aqua who are on shopping. Kana's pre dressing out ordeal was hillarious & cute af. The narrator nailed it with the "Cute and sexy" xD
Aqua was a gentleman the entire time from paying the bill, helping kana with bags, reserving a nice dinner. Bro might not have experience from his past life but he definitely knows how to charm a girl with his nature and kindness. Kana was smitten totallly. Dinner talk was nice, Aqua opening up a little to her how he now can finally be open to the thought of romance in his life and kanas reply was totally apt "Freedom to love is a persons basic right" and aqua deserves it after all hes been through.

The rare natural aqua smile again with kana reacting with the blush was just too wholesome. Good to see aqua finally catching a break. Later Kanas thoughts go wild as she think aquas upto something naughty taking her somewhere for a special ride but all her fantasies come crashing down as he just drops her home like a gentleman. Poor kana atleast she enjoyed her day xD

Then we come to Aqua and akanes date. I like how it turns the episode from a light note to a more serious and melancholic vibe. Aqua wants to clear out everything with akane & doesnt want to burden her further & not wanting to ruin her bright future. Akane reminisces about her happy moments with aqua. Also she already understands that she was being used & hope she was helpful. Further embraces him and says that shes ready to be intimate because of aquas nature and his kindness. Shes such a great girl & i feel really bad for her here and to be honest she needs to value herself more cause she deserves better & aqua is really not doing that. Aquas reply to her is that shes just being deceived by him again and he doesnt have feelings for her that way which leaves her frustrated. Plus he even questions her feelings for him and akane does ponder over it for a while. So what is it genuine feelings or trying to help her kind saviour? Shes still confused.
Also i keep forgetting Aqua is a grown ass man inside so idk what is he doing with feelings of both Kana and Akane like this honestly, he should know better tbh than being so vague with them. Taiki was right

Anyways further aqua elaborates he doesnt need anyone to share his burden since its practically over with him knowing the identity of his father which he shares with akane. Also Bro spent 5 million yen over this ? jesus the dedication for ai is still untouched. After hearing about the fathers story something triggers in akane & leaves in a hurry. Apparently she realized a loophole which aqua missed due to his emotional state at the time. Detective mode akane to the rescue again

This scene and the music gave me goosebumps for real. Now question is akane is in a fix, tell him the truth or let him be happy. *sigh* cant catch a break.

Finally we get to see ruby visiting mama AI's grave giving her all the life news about her and aqua & how hes finally over it. The crow appearing and ruby singing was so eeriee ngl.
If that wasnt even enough enter the big bomb of the episode at the last moment. This mf (also do i hear mamoru miyano? )

Things are going into next gear fast. Cant wait for next episode.

@DurhamDave That was already mentioned in the show when he talked with his half-brother, but it doesn't make sense anymore. Aqua and Ruby's father is the guy at the grave, but the half-brother said his father is the dead guy. If that's true then Ai has to be their shared mom, otherwise his half-brother told some bullshit and maybe conspires together with their real father.

Man I'm not tryna simp but dam Aqua's/Ruby's father is so hot havent had a villain this hot since Muzan, I know a few things about the manga and I knew this reveal was coming soon. I really hope Akane tells us what loophole she found though.

Also idk if this was intentional but I swear comparing both outings I swear Aqua put way more effort into his one with Kana. But I mean different reasons for each outing i guess and they didn't really show much of his one with Akane anyways.

Kamiki walked in like a supervillain there at the end.The scene where Akane pieces everything together was really well done. Aqua taking both Kana and Akane on dates one episode after insisting he wasn't doing anything like that is funny.

Kana had me smiling and laughing way too much! Her time hanging out with Aqua and helping him buy a rolling suitcase for the upcoming trip to Miyazaki was a joy to watch. Her mind was going as fast as a supercar that has no brakes, so her mindset kept on going into overdrive as to what "might" happen until she was dropped off at home, safe and sound. I'm sure she's relieved and also disappointed at the same time at this. XD

The segment with Akane was very interesting. Aqua is doing what he thinks is the right thing for their "relationship" and keeping on good terms with each others was probably the best approach he could do. It was also nice of him to offer an invite to Akane to join him and the others in the trip to Miyazaki. You can see that he wants to be able to move on now that he freed himself from his original plan to hunt for his biological father, but his talk only made Akane's mind shift into top gear, where she put the pieces together after noticing a blatant loophole that Aqua didn't seem to be aware of.

Then things shifted to Ruby, who was visiting the grave of Ai Hoshino. It looked to be a peaceful visit to pay her respects, but as she left, someone else arrived and mention to himself about Ruby has grown before he dropped the bombshell to end the episode on.

What an excellent episode overall, both for the amusing segment with Kana and the thickening plot that I see Aqua getting dragged back into sooner or later. I highly look forward to the Miyazaki trip more than ever. =)

@Zarutaku No, it simply implies that Himekawa's mother cheated on his 'father' and he doesn't know of that. Thus the man she cheated with then went on to also sleep with Ai.

The second half of this episode was great with the horror techniques. From the eerie music, the use of the Dutch angle during Akane's epiphany and then her jump scare moment as if the killer was watching her, to Ruby visiting Ai's grave with the ominous sign of the crow, and then ending with the real father finally appearing.

This was an episode dedicated to the great red and blue babes of the show, but each respective part was way different from the other. On Kana’s side, she got to have a date with Aqua where he basically rizzed her up at every occasion, probably by accident but it was still great to witness, especially because of Kana’s internal and external reactions to all of it playing out, she got a laugh out of me when gender equality nearly squandered the bill paying moment lol. But as cute as the date was, Kana is reminded of who Aqua is still with when she pulled up that picture of Akane and Aqua on her phone, as well as when he mentioned her on the date, not sure why Kana would have that saved tho lol, it’s upsetting for sure but I am a bigger Akane fan at the end of the day so it’s hard to feel too bad about it.

But then came Akane’s side of things, and it started out cute but Aqua brought up “talking things over” with her which immediately clued her into breaking up, wild that Aqua would even think to do it on the supposed vacation lol, I’m glad Akane forced the issue now. And that bridge scene man, very good stuff, taking me right back to Season 1 when Aqua originally saved her, things got a bit goofy after that when sex and kissing was brought up which was fun, but still a very nice scene, the sky and backgrounds looked awesome as well. And in the end it wasn’t really made apparent if they broke up or not, hopefully Aqua realizes what a great blue babe he’s got before it truly happens, but then as Aqua was talking about his findings about his dad, detective Akane awakened and she realized something Aqua overlooked, that was a very well done and kinda spooky scene, but now the question is does she tell Aqua and reignite the revenge, or let him move on? Akane has a lot of responsibility all the sudden lol.

But wait, there’s more! They actually went and teased what I’m guessing is the real dad there at the end, I mean he has to be when he referred to Ruby as “our daughter” right? And I see people happy with the voice actor choice and I have to agree, villain vibes are off the charts, very nice entrance for this character. These last two episodes aren’t gonna be about R&R are they lol.

@Nepgear2206 I think by loophole is that akane realised that the person whom aqua think is his father is not actually his father because she realised the possibility that probably himekawa's mother cheated on his husband and the results was himekawa born and the person with whom himekawa's mom cheated her husband, is the man that made Ai pregnant.
@SabreDrago oh, your version is quite nice! My first thought was that the double suicide was actually a hoax and Himekawa's parents were actually alive somewhere, with their identities changed

Wasn't the father dead? Now another character appears and says that Ruby is his daughter.
Did Ai have children from 2 different men? Impossible for them to be twins!
The lies must be cleared up!

kekeke
@Ranxomare Technically it is possible to birth twins from different fathers.

If the mother matures more than one egg at once, they can be fertilized by two different fathers.

This of course is quite rare since women are not that promiscuous in general, but it can happen.
It is more common for animals like cats, where having multiple mates is the norm.

Ofc this type of pregnancy generally doesn't make identical twins, unless chimerism also comes into play.

That said, since Ruby and Aqua are of opposite sexes, they must be from separate eggs in any case, but since they look very alike (with traits clearly not after their mom) they almost definitely have the same father

Akane thinks the dad Himekawa and Aqua have in common is not the one who committed suicide along with his wife.
This means Himekawa's mom cheated on her husband with the man who is also Ai's lover

Akane was surprised Aqua considered Himekawa's dad unfaithfulness to his wife (to also sleep with Ai) likely, but not that his wife could have been the unfaithful one, which is as likely

I really enjoyed the start of the episode - seeing Aqua celebrate his newfound freedom with Kana was redeeming after all of the shit Aqua's been through.

However, it really gets interesting with his conversation with Akane near the end. Her conflict after talking to him was pretty interesting.

@Kayle_x_Morgana Aqua and his half-sibling definitely share a biological father. But it is not proven that the guy who committed double suicide was his actual biological father. His half-brother knew him as a father figure but he could adopt him or as mentioned above his mother could have cheated.
I always found it weird that Aqua who did 100 DNA tests didn't try to verify father identity.

What's there to say? Absolute cinema!

First of all, Kana had her little W, she's really cute.

I'm all for Akane, but Kana is really a pure soul, she needs protection and kindness.

Then, Aqua made the WORST decision of his life.

How dare he break Akane's heart like that... and am even so, this goodness of a character still saw through Aqua's flawed conclusion and chooses to protect him from the shadows.

Manga readers know what I'm saying... this woman is carrying this entire show.

Aqua loses his drive for vengeance, because he's tired of thinking about anything...

and Finally

The Main antagonist appears.

Ruby's life's being a little too close to danger...

And the ever faithful eyes of the crow 🐦‍⬛ watches everything.

I don't wanna say anything more, just wait for the next season. Things will take a dark turn.
