Rick had to overcome his fear this episode in order to face off against his final opponent in this tournament.

Everything has been building up to this point and seems the show wants to give us a match worth waiting for. For some reason, they added some promotional material to this with..bunny girls lul. The fight itself kinda went how I expected with Rick declaring what he fights for while seeing competition at the highest level.

If Kelvin needs money he can always come to my bedroom.

With just one episode left, they're gonna do a flashback arc in the middle of tournament arc?

A better solution? Announce a season 2!!!

Ok, so Rick doesn't want to fight half of the episode, then we are listening to the tons of unnecessary and predictable dialogues to stretch the episode. And then we are spending half of the last episode on the story from Broughston and the finish of the fight. Also, the animation was kind of bad :p.
So, 3/5, maybe?

I feel like this show has really gone to another level lately. This episode had everything for me. Healthy dose of Angelica, solid character development and of course the Rick v Broughston fight. ALSO and perhaps most importantly, it finally seems like Rick knows how strong he is. Beating everyone else ass throughout the season meant nothing, but being told by Broughston, the strongest of the oriachalum fist that he’s grown strong meant the world to him.

Really like how the episode opened with Broughston paying respects to Kelvin for a hell of a fight. Kelvin didn’t have the benefit of being trained by an S rank adventurer, he had to reach those heights on his own so I’m sure seeing his efforts acknowledged by someone as strong as Broughston was big for him. Kinda sucks it interrupted a nice father and son moment there tho lol

Rick being afraid to fight Broughston had me dying, dude you’re just as strong as him 😂 it took Reanette saying she’d like him more and let him take her to the Onsen to get him to lock in. “Me and the bad bitch I pulled by being scared” basically. Poor Angelica over there about to pass out when she heard they’re going to the Onsen together, wouldn’t surprise me if she ends up third wheeling and we get a fanservice ep to end the season lol

I am looking forward to learning about the origins of the group next week tho! Can’t believe it but I’ve grown to really like this show

@Nathan_Mutai This, this, and *ONLY* THIS. I knew that is what she offered him. It was so bloody obvious, 2 minutes after they announce the prize. ROFLMAO

The fact that everyone is guilt tripping Rick into voluntary death is hilarious to me😂. Well Rick had a good run but he’s not surviving next episode.

It's okay! Broughston can rez him. It's fine. I'm mostly(?) sure of it.

With Kelvin out of the way, his Jewel of the 6 Jewels is pretty much secured...now comes the insanely hard part: disciple vs. master.

Kelvin being the deceiver all along to hide even his true potential against his owner, he still entrusts it all to him being like a father-and-son figure, and I don't know how but Broughtston interrupting their precious moment was just hilarious. Now, it's Rick who has to face one of his own masters, and Snape sure put on a temptation that even Rick could not afford to ignore, despite Angelica trying to get him out of his room, and the 2 years which he trained under said master, whom he now values life more than a fistfight to the death, which deeply disappointed everyone. This was a stark contrast to when he joined Orichalcum Fist 2.5 years ago and endured Broughtston's insane training, which both Rizett and Alicerette can sympathize.

No matter, the King of Fists Tournament must continue to crown its 113th champion, and all that Rick learned from Broughston, he's physically ready but emotionally not, and Reanette just has to give him the motivation (most likely because of the hot spring trip) to face his master head-on. And what a flash of a fistfight it is just for a hot springs date, as much as Angelica got awfully embarrassed while Reanette maintains her confidence that Rick will ensure victory. Everyone looking onward being more surprised of the potential of both S-rank guys going all out against each other, and Rick wanting to thank Broughtston by giving him a fight that he was dreaming of as an orc, it's the utmost and ultimate respect the former could give to the latter.

What exactly is the past of Orichalcum Fist, bringing a flashback arc into the finale? I'm all but stoked to see the finale now...

No surprise Rick wanted to withdraw right away, he knows exactly what he is up against.
Angelica was great in this episode, plenty of funny moments with her,
I wonder if Reanette actually has feeling for Rick? We know he likes her.
Great fight so far, I am really looking forward to seeing what happens next time.

I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

I haven't expected such fast character development from Angelica. Also, Mizett and Alicerette really gave him some sound advice. I enjoyed the fight, great setup for the finale.

Expected reaction from Rick but was still hilarious. The trauma, his hair was falling lol. Reanette knows what a guy wants, cute reaction from Angelica. Hope we get to see Reanette with ponytail again, she looks really cute. Broughston vs Rick's been really good and looks like we are gonna see a backstory too. Hope this ends with a s2 announcement next week.

Penultimate episode to this series; let's see how it goes

(sorry if it sounds like I'm rambling; I'm basically writing this post "live" as I watch the episode)

You know Rick has a point- the whole deal with the tournament was to get the jewel so wouldn't a duel between the two of them be pointless in the grand scheme of things? Season 2 isn't guaranteed so at least show us more of the world we're dealing with since we've been on this tournament for over a third of the season at this point

On a lighter note- I'm really impressed by Angelica's character development in the series; when you consider how despicable she was at the beginning, she's really evolved to be way more likeable now (but she will only be truly likeable once we know for certain she's stopped believing Rick is "40 something")

Gotta admit- Rick's hair falling out and Angelica's reactionary face was pretty funny, lol

The brief scene between Kelvin and the owner was actually pretty touching; too bad Broughston came in at just the wrong moment

Not sure how to react to Snape's dramatic acting in front of Rick's room; should we see that as funny or cringe?

"Even if you know that you can be brought back; dying is scary"
Oh, I see; so that's how the threat of death can still have weight in the world; to be honest a world where its possible to revive the dead does kind of cheapen stakes at times because it goes from "there's enormous risk" to "don't worry, we can just bring you back"

Ugh, Angelica still thinks Rick is 40... 11 episodes in you'd think she'd have stopped that shtick

Am I crazy, or does the marching band in the stadium look like modern day marines?

Rick... actually hurt Broughston, I don't believe it. Was genuinely not expecting this; really thought it was going to show Rick being strong, but still having a way to go

Going to be honest- if they make the last episode a "hot springs episode" without satisfying wrapping up the tournament here... that's just bad pacing on their part

Huh, so they are ending this season with a flashback episode then? Have to say, if that Hot springs thing was a joke it wasn't in particularly good taste; love it or hate it the Hot Springs episode is a classic trope of anime, and if you're going to load Chekhov's gun, one would expect it to be fired.

I did feel the "hopeless Rick" part lasted longer than it needed to, but otherwise the episode itself was enjoyable. I only am sad the season will not end particularly satisfyingly due to the tournament taking up so much time. It feels like there's a bigger world to see, and I hope this show does well enough to warrant a season 2.

Well, guess the only thing left is to wait until next week

Not much to say.
Unassuming name for a show.
Surprisingly entertaining execution.
Hopefully a S2 somehow? One of the sleepers of this season.

It's impossible not to feel sympathy for Rick. Even though they've completed their mission, he now has to face his master, Broughston, who is the strongest being in their world so far; anyone would be overwhelmed by the stress.

However, Rick has decided to fight Broughston, not out of obligation, but out of a desire to reward him for everything he was taught over the course of two years. By giving his master the long-awaited fight against someone of equal strength, Broughston acknowledges Rick's efforts. Many others mocked Rick's dream of becoming an adventurer, but he trained Rick so that he could finally have a worthy opponent. Through Rick's mental and emotional strength, he was able to endure the grueling and nearly impossible training, a training that literally saw him cut in half and die many times. The bond between student and master at that moment was remarkable.

Oh, and of course, going to the hot springs with Reanette as well.

Rick was kinda being an ass in the beginning of the episode ngl. I see why Angelica got kinda mad about the whole situation.

Got to see that side of her, along with a little jealous and flustered side of her as well lmao.

Though yeah, it was about time we got the backstory to the backstory about how the party started.

The final battle between Rick and Broughston has started! Marvellous battle it was, the master vs the disciple.

I think whoever wins the battle, it doesn’t change anything, because those two are part of Orichalcum Fist (or not, because what’s truly motivating Rick to win this tournament is the hot spring trip with Reannette😅)

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

that was one heckuva monster fight between those two! lol watching rick and fight against broughston, nobody would think he was just a newly minted E-ranked adventurer. and i had a feeling reanette's motivation for rick was that onsen prize; it really doesn't need to take a genius to figure out what she told him, but angelica was curious and probably jealous lol she hate to admit it, but she has a thing for rick too lol

Good fight; I still think he should take Angelica on that onsen trip (sure he will too *wink*) but it looks like first it's time to take a trip down memory lane. I really hope they can wrap up the history AND the fight in the last episode. Maybe make the onsen an ONA before the next season? There MUST be a next season or I will be disappointed.
