After weeks of break, this show is back!

This turned into a horror story with a monster monkey attacking the village. One of the survivor turns out to be a girl who seems to be an orphan. It's crazy how this show came back in such a violent and eerie way. Also feels like Yukiya became a much more serious person.

FINALLY got this back after a month, the Olympics must pay for their crimes. They came back with a BANGER too. This looks like it’ll be the best arc of the series.

The Yatagarasu getting invaded and hunted by the monkeys is horrifying. The enemy could be anywhere and they vastly overpower the ravens on the ground. Race against time to stop them before the strike again and find out who the hell they are and what they want. I also really like that we’re gonna get to learn about the outside world presumably. We’ve kinda been confined to the capital and Taruhi for the length of the show, I’m really curious where the monkeys come from!

The village fight at the start had some rough animation, but the story was more than good enough to make up for it.

Yukiya love interest? Koume is so freaking pretty, that boy Yukiya was shook. Obviously he wants to make sure she’s not feeling alone during this time, but he’s also finally able to spend some time around a girl of his own age which is good for him. Doing all that work for the prince kinda prevented him from being a teenager for a bit.

Wild cliffhanger! Been so long since we last had Yatagarasu episodes I can’t remember the tobi fella and the other dude at the end, but I’m guessing skinny dude is in cahoots with the monkeys and poisoning people? Saw some blood on the wall there so had the monkeys already come thru?

Hype for next ep

Good to see this back after a while. Been like one episode in two months it must have felt like before this one so with the Olympics out of the way, hopefully this show can regain some momentum and end well. It was an alright episode back too, a bit of mystery with the monkey monster there and how they have come to be (especially with how powerful they are and who they target), and some mix of developments too for Yukiya as Koune's prevalent in the episode and both manage to share their moment together awkwardly there by the end, hinting there might be some relationship building between the two (or if this series is setting up to pull off another huge twist and have this go so far outside the box in ways I can't conceptualize right now).

It's almost as if this is completely different anime from before the long break, and I'm not complaining.

Sagecap? Tobi? Are we supposed to know what is going on there or is it new for this arc?

I'm not trusting the girl, either. Something is off. Trust your instincts Yukiya. Mom is just trying to marry off her sons.

Damn that three-week break didn’t really help alleviate any production woes this was likely having behind the scenes, especially with how the movement looked a bit more jank especially during most of the action parts.

Eh, whatever, not like the writing or characters have done anything much to really make a difference for me, anyways.

@Ryuseishun Yatagarasu isn't built for action lmoo, it's crazy standards animation to expect above average animation for this type of show. Average animation is enough for a show like this

@jiajia "Tobi"/"Tonbi" means "black kite" in Japanese. He is a yatagarasu, not a monkey, and one of Ravine gangsters' bosses.

I think the ending of the anime will end in suspense, there are only 5 more episodes to resolve everything that was created in this episode. I'm worried because I like this anime...

@benedito2937425 It would be great if they end this season on a cliffhanger and make a second season based on the continuation of vol. 3 and on the whole vol.4. And then, a movie based on vols.5-6! But I think that the remaining episodes will be enough to finish this season at the end of vol.3, without a cliffhanger.

@KisMaczka I honestly think it's difficult for this anime to have another season, since it's not very famous... But yes, a second season + movie would be perfect. But I doubt that will happen.

@benedito2937425 Chisato Abe's novels are immensely popular in Japan. And the first six volumes of Yatagarasu series are a finished story with logical end, perfectly fitting into two TV anime seasons (vols. 1+2+3 and vols. 4+5+6) or two seasons (vols 1+2+1/2 of 3 and 1/2 of 3+4) plus movie (vols.5+6).
I did not expect that they would include volume 3 in this season, it really surprised me... And it would be a pity if they leave the story halfway.

@KisMaczka Well, I didn't know that, as I'm from South America, but I'm happy to know that it's famous in Japan, as I love this anime.

If this is true, then I think a second season is possible, it makes more sense to have two seasons adapting 3 volumes each, rather than adding a movie. Since it would make production extend a lot.

It's certainly a month's break from the Olympics, but glad to have this show finally back.

Yukiya and Wakamiya being surrounded by transmutating apes in Sugou, some still alive to catch both off guard, and an entire village of yatagarasu decimated before the discovery of a fellow young woman still alive. This has become quite the epidemic in Taruhi, and Wakamiya ensures all bases covered throughout Yamauchi to make sure that all are evacuated out of danger, and any traitors be captured.

Even the young lady of Koume who was the only person found alive and didn't know what was going on, albeit with a missing father, Yukiya's family brought her in for the time being, all because his mother thought with the inkling that he's like her being of the same age. But surely, this case wasn't just one of intention of eating humans alive, but it's a killing sport to them which Yukiya finds it rather manifesting, apart from Koume being a potential love interest to him, if her dad wasn't found by then.

A sinister plan is in the works...

Idk man I can't trust her no matter what. Maybe I'm being paranoid. Still for her to be the only one alive with no scratches is still sus as hell.

So there's the sagecap drug making people go mad but then also some Monkey's that can also transform into humans like wtf?

Damn the horror, these monkeys are brutal. Those two kids didn't make it, fuck. That scene with Wakamiya presenting the head was intense. They can finally understand the predicament they are in. Gimme more Sumi btw.

New girl is really pretty, she's prolly Yukiya's love interest? Yukiya seems thrilled to have her around lol.

Btw so Wakamiya can't harm the yatagarasu? Would make a lot more sense and he truly will be their protector from everything else. Disaster befall when a Kin'u appears or more like the Kin'u appears when disaster befalls to save them.

That girl looks sus, but you feel ambiguous because she resembles Sumi. She may prove to be an ally. But they may actually be drug dealers though.
