The Misaki rescue mission! Obviously, she needed help getting out of that place but the episode itself had its tense moments.

I find it interesting how Akira approached this, especially with the amount of risk involved. Very eerie episode imo, with even Kojima getting involved.

Fable to the rescue!

With the constraints of "no killing" and "no revealing identities," the mission to rescue Misaki begins. Amidst a clash between Kojima and Sunagawa at the scene, the rescue is successfully carried out. Akira effortlessly overpowers the mercenaries hired by Sunagawa. He also succeeds in abducting Kojima, completing his mission. Demonstrating his prowess as the "strongest," he departs from the scene.

Obviously other than the tiny bit we got in the first episode, this is the first time we've seen Fable truly in action, and oh boy does he live up to the rumors. Dude is so badass and skilled that he wasn't even looking when he shot that goon's chest lol. Swear this dude Fable has to have wallhacks or aimbot cause he didn't miss A SINGLE shot. These dudes are still as ruthless as ever, glad they let Takahashi go.

The plan was a bust for them, but for Fable mission successful.

Akira's successfully saving Misaki is a win, though telling her a joke about violence...he only knows about Jackal, lols. But the rescue is not over since Sunagawa's lackeys are still waiting outside, so Akira deals with them discreetly. And as the mosquito sound runs amok in the heated debate between Kojima and Sunagawa, the former Fable tips Ebihara about Akira's skills as the succeeding Fable...or so he thinks that the former snuffed his life when he was training Akira to become a professional assassination like him. This is as much as a warning that Ebihara should not mess with Akira, as he deals with Sunagawa's outsider hitman and tells one of Takahashi's henchmen to take her out of the scene ASAP.

That only leaves Sunagawa, Kojima, and their right-hand men, plus Akira, who has to deal with both hitmen and the ongoing mosquito tone. And with the secret out of Akira being the Fable, the seasoned hitmen are still fearful of wherever he could be hitting as they're up against an opponent that is practically a threat to all gangsters. At the very least, Akira tried his best not to kill anyone (which he did) as he manhandles the unconscious Kojima, leaving Takahashi alive. With Kojima in the Satos' possession and Misaki safely returned home, it may have been quite the episode for Misaki, but it definitely is for the realization that the Fable IS the real threat to be eliminated.

If anything, this is a FIRE episode, the best thus far.

One of the highest compliments I can pay a series I'm watching weekly blind is when I get frustrated at having to wait another week to see what happens whenever an episode ends. That's happened multiple times with this series, which is probably the best show I watched in the Spring 2024 anime season. My only real nitpick with this episode were a few derpy faces, but really I'm loving this show so far. Judging by that next episode title I'm guessing Ebihara is finally gonna confront his brother in some way, but it might refer to something else. Either way, can't wait!

Hot damn. This whole rescue mission had me on the edge of my seat. Mad respect to Fable's skills and his ability to keep a cool head, as expected of a pro. Fortunately, Misaki and Takahashi made it out. Unfortunately, Kojima is still alive, and Sunagawa still wants Camo Guy to go after his unknown second target.

And then we got that whole exchange between Ebihara and Fable's boss. Will he lose his killer instincts if he tries to live a normal life? We've seen signs of Akira developing in other ways, but who knows? There's a lot to chew on going into the second cour. Continuing!

Was the kick boxer trying to get close to Misaki in the end? I do remember in the last episode he was feeling bad for her. I am not sure if he is a good guy or has ulterior motives.

This show is so good. At this point I don't even care about animation anymore, in a way it even suits the overall tone.

Fable is surely not someone to take lightly, even with a toy gun he was the coolest.

There are three main arcs for the first part of Fable, the fable and fable second contract. We are finishing up the first main arc, and I think they'll end just after the second main arc. Probably one more episode to wrap this arc up and then we get rolling into the second.

As i mentioned in the last episode, i wasn't entirely convinced that Misaki didn't recognize Akira at all or even have any doubts. I saw that scene in the manga, and it was much more shocking and therefore more convincing. This makes me wonder how much was censored compared to the manga? Despite my unease with this aspect, i did enjoy the episode, and it always leaves me eager to find out what will happen next.

When I watched the new episode every week, I always feel like the 23 minutes ended quickly.

I'm glad I try to watching this series. Week to week, I like it more than before.
OP & ED song are fine to me. I like it more ED song

Okay I'm curious what is next happen, what is the fate of Akira's peaceful life? Will Misaki know Akira's true figure?

I'm looking forward to this series.

@IKKIsama

I'm torn over that here's what I have for the year so far:

The Fable
Yuuki Bakuhatsu Bang Bravern
Dungeon Meshi
Tonari no Youkai-san
Snack Basue
Kaijuu 8-gou
Shuumatsu Train Doko e Iku?
Metallic Rouge

But I have a twisted sense of humor.

That went fairly well getting Misaki out of there and the kickboxer guy too which I hoped he would be alright since he didnt seem like an all bad guy.

Kind of ironic Akira helped save Kojima.

Its also the most painful show to watch weekly.. Its too dam good. The last time I dreaded waiting for another episode was with DBZ. If only the whole dam thing was available like how Netflix does it at times.

Nice animation of this action, but why they had to put hair on nipples? ;(
PV 3 shows some totally new things are gonna come..
Ryou gonna go to forest with Akira O.o wonder why him..
and is that Misaki or not on that wheelchair? on other screen Misaki is shown with short hair now.. why couldn't she have short hair in this ep :D:D:D

it’s really sad this has a poor rating just because the animation isn’t that good, the actual story I think is easily the best this season at least if not top 3 this year so far

that kickboxer seems chill but something about him feels a bit fishy I’m not sure why

@Quanda1eDing1e The idea in the show is that Akira is able to change dialect by flipping a switch in his head. The manner in which he does it is a running gag and its when he taps his head several times with his index finger. He's done it several times now; the first is when he arrives in Osaka and then here in this episode where he reverts back to his original dialect to hide his Osaka persona from Misaki.

Simple and direct, Fable is the man! But I'm curious about this new arc that will be introduced so much that they changed the anime's cover, meaning we will have the Fable x Yakuza confrontation.

I enjoyed this episode so much too.
I can count on it to be consistently interesting every time from around the 5,6 episodes.
For some reason, the rating within MAL is 7.2, but the real rating should be 9.4 since the post-viewing rating is 4.7. :)

I'm so glad I wasn't watching this part weekly. While the pacing isn't really bad, it's definitely on the slower side.

Like many here pointed out, it's ridiculous that no one recognized Akira's voice. Maybe not Misaki, but Takahashi definitely should've caught that (maybe he did?), since he already had suspicions that Akira is no ordinary guy. I get that Akira can flip dialects and stuff, but he still had that same distinct voice.

Maybe the voice acting could've sold it better. I'm still fine with it, because it was very funny to hear his deadpan delivery while everyone else was freaking out.
