Finally, a human village after such a long time.

Ogarou and the rest arrived at the garrison city of Trient, the destination of Rubellia and the rest of the girls. They were told to decide by the end of the day whether they would stay in the city or continue traveling with Ogarou. The members of Parabellum began gathering information throughout the city, but the townsfolk still harbored fear towards ogres' appearance. To alleviate this, Ogarou transformed into human forms to explore the town. During their exploration, they encountered a young knight opposing a kidnapping group that had abducted the princess of the Sternbild Kingdom.

Not even a minute in, and these dudes are already being racist towards the ogres... lol. In the end, Ogarou just takes on a human appearance, which is a nice change of pace from always seeing him as a monster. Still, he retains his monster strength—he took down those robbers in less than ten seconds, lol. Not just the strength, but the mindset of a monster too; Ogarou committed arson like it was nothing. Anyway, it wouldn’t be an isekai without the traditional princess attracted to the MC trope. A trope I did NOT need in this show was Ogarou "spanking" the princess—if you can even call it a trope.

So, Ogarou’s old world was also a fantasy one, huh? Hopefully, we’ll learn more about it.

That's the princess that was saved thanks to the elixir for sure. She's a free spirit. That spanking though.

Ofc the girls won't leave Ogarou. I just hope to see the knight girl again. Liked what Ogarou said about eating the enemies he killed.

Well I’m glad that the girls decided to stick with Ogrou and we got to learn his real name in his previous life, Tomokui Kanata. I didn’t know that he can transform himself into a human form. That came in handy as he was able to walk around the town without drawing a bunch of eyes to him and scaring everyone off.

And due to that, he’s gotten himself involved with the first daughter of the Sternbert Kingdom’s first queen consort, Rubilia Eis fol Sternbert, one of the few humans that doesn’t start off being intimidated by him. Well, at least Parabellum is thriving more as a business.

The big question of why Ogrou consumes his prey. I always thought that it was because that’s how he gets stronger. But there’s a deeper meaning to it. That fight with the Jade Eagle… It was looking bad, but his regeneration skill allows him to regenerate his limbs so it’s all good. From the looks of it, he was just testing his own abilities versus the eagle’s.

Well it’s off to Episode 10

So the dude who was banging the girls left and right will now "Respect their wishes" if they want to stay.. LOL WUT

I wish this show had more actual animated battle scenes. It feels more like a power point than an anime.

Anyway, we did get a loli princess so that raises the score a tad

3.8/5

After a long time recruiting goblins most of the time, Ogrou and his party are finally going to a human village named Sternbert Region from Trient (garrison city).

He must protect and guide the newcomer princess who is the first daughter of Sternbert Kingdom’s queen consort. It will be a little bit difficult, since she does not listen to Ogrou’s advices.

The battle between Ogrou and jade eagle was awesome. Everyone thought Ogrou would die, but it didn’t. He showed again his best combat abilities and gained all the skills. Adamant claws and wind resistance are great. I can’t wait to see what other adventures await Ogrou, Dhami, Earthe, Bloodsato, Genki, Nekki, Fukki and others.

I am actually starting to enjoy this anime again. I am now watching with distinct amusement how bad it actually will get by the end of this season. This last episode was filled with still frames with a camera panning in various directions, enhanced by the quintessential narration. I have a feeling the studio is saving up their money so the season finale episode can afford to have l33t 60pfs animations and set the stage for Season 2! :)

I honestly didn't think it was possible for Studio Deens animation quality to get any worse, yet here we are.

@IzanaSolos It doesn't really happen again, he was doing it for discipline, I don't think it was meant to be fetishy remotely.

@MegamiRem I forget, but I don't know that we've gotten to that kingdom in the story, but there's more beyond where the manga is anyway and there are several different kingdoms. Much of the stuff teased in the opening is going to happen, but likely rushed to hell

The knight girl does show up occasionally, but she's mostly been in the background doing particular duties at the goblin hideout, iirc.

Actually checked, it apparently, it's the tomboy princess' older sister, though she really hasn't shown up in story because everyone's exploring other places

@EvilJuju Next episode probably will have a moment I'm genuinely wondering how they'll handle, because it happens 4 times in succession, technically. And kind of links to the reveal by Seiji about what happened back at the hideout too.

As for season 2, given the pacing here, we'd be lucky to get it in a few years

@billybub I'm not as savvy, but yeah, when they snuck into the thieves' hideout, it was just still frames moving and the thieves weren't even great quality themselves in appearance

Ogrou's past life was not a fella you'd want to mess with. Beef with him and you'd be his dinner. His current life might be even worse though, those bandits got eaten or parasitized instead of arrested.

If Ogrou could turn into a human why didn't he do it before he entered town? haha

Also, seeing Ogrou spank the princess after she was doing whatever she wanted was funny. Speaking of the princess, I'm thinking her father is going to freak out if he sees her coming in that centipede wagon with Ogrou in his normal self but at the end of the day maybe the king and Ogrou will strike a pact or something since the king should notice how strong he is.

My noble princess Lady Rubiria-sama is finally here, without a doubt one of the best characters, she is incredible, every word and action she does has a deep and relevant reason.
In most fantasy anime, nobles are very poorly represented, but Rubiria I can say without a doubt, she is the best of them all. Princess Renner was ahead of her years ago but she fell hard recently.

Looks like the season will end with this arc with the princess. The manga adaptation is just 100 chapters long and still ongoing (at least the english translated one I can find) and the story is only at within days 240-250 so technically the anime is making some strides in covering as much content as it can and we'll probably have a good end for this cour.

The Garrison City of Trient, finally, a human city.

Ogrou feeling resistive to let the humans off after holding them prisoner for all the while, they finally prove useful in cities like Trient, where Ogrou can disguise himself and take advantage of the situations happening within, like a tomboy princess being kidnapped and her knight having to rescue her alone. Of course, they can't have him knowing that ogres like Ogrou exist, so they have to brainwash him back to normalcy. Too bad that the princess knows Ogrou well as the princess of Steinbert, but to call forth him for an escort mission, he practically hit a dead end trying to convince her, not to mention the huge reward for entering the imperial capital, Oswell.

Ogrou having no choice but to transport Rubilia and his sisters along with it, the tomboy princess is a pain in the ass to deal with. For a moment, this show becomes like Dungeon Meshi with all of the monster food and such, and while at it, trains both Rubilia and her personal knight. Even getting into fights with falaise eagles that can be turned into yakitori, eating any and all kinds of monsters is how Ogrou grows stronger, like facing a jade eagle, and earning rare item like its soul stone.

Rubilia questioning Ogrou on his cannibalism, he can't exactly mention why for obvious reasons, but let her speculate. The first episode in a long while to be interesting.
