I guess somebody should change the status of the manga to hiatus/cancelled rather than publishing huh.
I may make you feel but I can't make you think.

It won't be canceled. Shueisha clearly said it.

Damn and so early into its publication.

I can see this being moved to Jump+ in the near future if the author keeps getting sick.

It hasn't even reached 10 chapters yet, either author was sick from the beginning or he's the perfect example of why Japanese people go to the ICU for a mild cold.

it must probably have been a condition he already had :/ but still, shueisha should have serialized him in jump+ then

Indefinite? AnimeNewsNetwork just said "another week" a few days ago. Fuck.
I was hoping he'd resume next week. Damn it.

These Mangaka are fucking lacking proper nutrition.
It's bizarre how they fail to eat or sleep properly... Ridiculous.
I understand that they produce manga weekly and draw/prepare everyday, worse if they do it without assistants, but the problem is clearly their fault of not being educated to proper nutrition.
They shouldn't be getting sick if they get all the right food/vitamins and water. ... So frustrating.

After such a long break, I don't even think its related to nutritional issues.
He took an initial break, then the infinite hiatus.
I think he went to the doctor, then the week after he is diagnosed of something. Although this is completely speculation on my part.

1000%, i work in a vaccine manufacture site where people work 16 hour double shifts with 3 hours of sleep daily 6 days a week month after month and they are perfectly happy and healthy. I mean if schoolkids eating a packaged red bean bun for lunch in manga/anime tells you anything.. mangaka living alone probably eat a ramen a day for months and wonder why they are blacking out

Oh, you have no idea, bud (coming from someone with 10+ health issues at 29). Life is a bitch, age rarely has something to do with that + manga artists are known for their life style (sleeping less than you need, eating junk food, back issues because you have to draw A TON etc etc).

I know health issues are common throughout all ages of life, but I think its stupid how some Mangaka live. It’s better they take care of their bodies instead of rushing each chapter to get it out. The fact they eat crap and deprive themselves of sleep is ridiculous. Also, they could just get a tilted surface to work on to reduce back pain from bending over.

Regardless, I’m hoping the author gets better soon so we can see a continuation of this series. Certainly had some potential.

It's not up to them. Work ethics in Japan suck ass, people literally die from over-working. They sleep less than regular people not because they play video games all night, but because otherwise they can't meet deadlines. Drawing pretty pictures takes a lot of time, I speak from experience, especially if you do it by yourself (author is a rookie, I doubt they can afford help, but if they do, okay, I am wrong), especially if you're under the pressure to meet deadlines. And they have no energy/time to cook themselves, so they eat whatever shit avaliable at the time. Also we don't know their health issues, could be something like covid. Could be some heritable disease. Could be literally anything. Japanese never share any details about these things. Of course you're correct, that they need to care for themselves, but it could be something out of their control. Bad vision/back issues/stomach issues are just possibilities. You can't predict everything and, let's be honest, not all of us do sports or eat only healthy food (because I don't XDD)

Fair enough honestly. I know how hard drawing a nice piece of art can take, I find it crazy how some authors get 20 pages out every week. Glad they seem to be getting better though, or at least it seems that way from updates. The publishers should give a bit more freedom to the authors so that this doesn’t happen to them so frequently. After all, less chapters is better than indefinite hiatus due to issues that maybe could have been avoided in the first place.

What a shame. Right after he finally started his breakthrough manga debut after releasing good One-Shots that never got serialized at a young age.
