I'll keep this simple. I'm not into decorating or filling an introduction too much. I'm a bit spartan in that sense.
Just a guy who likes anime. I grew up with it and gradually went from casual watcher to actual Otaku.
I'm not a conversation starter, but I'll gladly talk with you, provided we find a common topic of interest.
Other stuff I like:
- Challenging videogames. Not much of an idle gameplay fan.
- Animated shows from around the world, if they are good. I'm not judgemental over the place of origin.
- Music. Heavy metal is my favorite genre, but I'm willing to try almost anything as long as it's not too unapologetically commercial.
- Languages. I can speak fluent Spanish (native speaker) and English. I can speak enough French to get around in a francophone country and enough German to not starve if I were stranded somewhere where people only spoke that language. I'm planning to eventually polish both of those languages and begin learning Japanese, not necesarilly in that order.
- Literature.
Random fact about me: I really want to experience something paranormal at least once in my life, but so far nothing's happened.
I rate stuff based on personal enjoyment:
10: Stuff that'll remain in my mind (in a good way) for the rest of my life.
9: Stuff that hits all the right boxes for me. Extremely memorable
8: Very good. Likely made an impression.
7: Good but very likely to be forgotten later on.
6: Mixed feelings.
5: Stuff I'd call mediocre
4: I can't defend this show
1-3: Probably never going to use these scores, because it's far more likely I'll drop a show and forget about it before I ever bother giving it such a score.
I hope you don't mind all the black and white.

Yup, that "big reveal" moment was fantastic. It also brought to mind the "big reveal" moment from Attack on Titan. I immediately thought that perhaps the iconic "basement reveal" was inspired by Claymore. After all, its own chapter with the "big reveal" moment had been released earlier.
As for this theme itself, I've always thought that both manga simply present the classic theme of a larger world beyond the characters' known boundaries; a far bigger, vaster world awaiting outside the land that the main characters call home and which they think of as their whole finite world. In both works, the land was an island, the border was the ocean, and the huge outside world was the main continent on which the most important stuff has always been happening.
No problem!
Nice to meet you!!! ;)
