So we got to see more action and fighting from Tomoki's as well as Hibiki. Honestly, I don't like Tomoki much for his attitude but it is what it is.

They faced some pretty enemies in this all out battle though. Felt like a survival fight just to survive against those demons. Props to Navarre for showing her courage this episode though. She went all out and putting her life on the live for her comrades, especially Hibiki.

More of these heroes, eh?

The Fort Stella, once captured by the demon tribe. In order to reclaim that place, the Kingdom of Limia and the Empire of Gritonia join forces to challenge the demons in a recapture battle. On the eve of the war, Hibiki and Tomoki, who meet for the first time, find themselves unable to get along due to Tomoki's arrogant attitude, creating an awkward atmosphere between them. The next day, as the war begins, the meticulous preparations pay off, and the Human army advances advantageously in the battle. However, the battlefield is filled with terrifying traps set by the demon tribe to ensnare the heroes.

I actually kinda enjoyed this episode. Once I figured out what was going on, I was really looking forward to seeing Makoto's mess unfold from both the heroes' and demons' point of view. It's cool that we're all caught up with Hibiki and Tomoki's introductions. Exploring the parts Season 1 skipped and how their story fits with the last season's finale was really interesting.

But now, I'm hoping we're back to following Makoto and the main gang.

The person who made the OP is the same as the OP from Skip to Loafer btw, Keina Suda. It's impressive how he did most things himself for both - arrangement, composition, lyrics, vocals.

Oh, that's the moment he was teleported at the end of season 1!
Seems like we'll be switching to Makoto now, nice.

I didn't mind the hero stuff, but damn, many people seem to hate the living shit out of them lol

Mid episode in my opinion. Tomoki is an immature child with a hero complex being manipulated. Hibiki has the conviction of a hero, but lacks the power and knowledge to actualize her desire.

For being what amounts to the final "filler" episode, this hit harder than I thought it would. This is undoubtedly one of those shows that can be 90% light hearted, low-states, world building, slice of life, or whatnot, and then reminding the viewer that that these battles do have real emotional consequences.

I really like how they handled the heroes. Including them in the first season (in a more chronological manner) would have made that story far more disjointed, I feel. I thought the use of flashbacks giving the heroes basically their own full episodes at the beginning of this season just makes so much more sense structurally. (I think this is in contrast to the light novels, or at least I have been told.) I will be happy to get back to the main story/Makoto, but I have been very happy with the season so far.

It looks like they don't really care about the strategies from the two heroes' perspectives.
They're skipping some things that are more or less world-building, imo. 😑
It's more likely that they're using this to promote VA's rather than the actual story. If it were so, I couldn't be more disappointed than I already am.

P.S. I'm still fond of Hibiki nonetheless.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Now that the 3-episode exposition for the 2 heroes is (hopefully) finally over, more screentime and development for Makoto the MC is sorely needed. Those 3 episodes were starting to bore everyone for real. God, I hope episode 4 doesn't flunk.

We’re back with another hero focused episode!

Hibiki and Tomoki finally meet ahead of the battle and wow he’s let fucking the queen go to his head. Dude is a massive asshole now. “At least call me Tomoki-san” man I wanted someone to slap the shit out of him there!

All that hyping himself up about being level 605 and stronger than Hibiki, only to run away as soon as he got in a fight without the goddess protection lmao. He’s a fucking loser. Can’t believe he was willing to waste all those lives who had died during the battle like that.

Naval ended up being the true second hero of the episode. Her sacrifice was so sad. What a real friend..

But even with her power up and kamikaze style attack, it still wasn’t enough to take down the demon commander.. but she did buy enough time for Hibiki to escape and fight another day which was her goal anyway. She deserved a better end, fuck Tomoki.

And that brings us up to speed as Makoto’s battle with Sofia has just ended. I loved the worldbuilding episodes myself. Made me more interested in the politics and world here. looking forward to the next arc as well. I’m enjoying this season a lot more than the first

I don't get why these episodes get so much hate. It was interesting to see another perspective, how it is to be a hero blessed by the goddess.
And we finally know why the goddes was so desperate to bring Makoto to this battle.
Hero's battle was nice by the way

New bar set for the dumbest episode ever. Everything from equipment design, voice acting, action, script, plot was all a dumpster fire. I don't expect much from an isekai, and even less from a mid to low tier one, but this show has managed to go way below expectations.

There is a common pitfall for many long running LNs or WNs: more and more cast being added to the point when MC barely gets any presence and you can not remember who is who and what is going on.
From that perspective two more fully developed hero parties is such a burden and their story is not strong enough to justify two episodes of air time just for the sake of it.

It is nice to see a "bad guy" that prides himself on his strength and then he actually delivers for a change, shame about Navarre, she was pretty hot, big fan of that slim brown beauty with white / silver hair that is quite the warrior.

Hopefully we can finally go back to the MC, at the very least I didn't hate this side story with the other heroes unlike with Kumo desu ga.

@geptor this is a problem that happens a lot in animes that have an OP MC, because he's OP if he sets foot in the scene the battles become one-sided and MC wins in the end anyways, and with that the authors find a fix to this problem that they created for themselves to push the story forward and give MC some screen time once in a while in battles, that's what MT and ReZero didn't do, that's why their MCs get most screen time no filler no other character filling in no nothing, we see the MCs grow slowly but surely strong enough to fight the fights and win them fair and square and not just obliterate the opposing side in a flash.

Random backstory? Isnt this something which should have either happened last season or atleast at the start of this one? Just seems out of place to get developement for random heroes, not even for the ones MC was actually fighting.

Also will be a weird mood shift going from this to what seems like a SoL arc.

Interesting bit was that demons have a way to nullify the goddesses blessings, so potentially her curse too? Maybe this is a setup for MC to get revenge on her?!

would be cool if he sided with the demons

@Kirito_online to use the ReZero comparison, its also exactly why Reinhard is always absent or otherwise busy. The setting is double interesting not just because we have a weak MC, but because an absurdly powerful character does exist to set him into contrast.

finally we got over the most boring part of season 1 content. I now understand why they skipped it back then and why they speed ran it in this season, a great choice tbh!!
As I have read the manga and the WN to some extent, I'm actually excited for the upcoming episodes!! More Makoto ftw!!

Like other folks, I'm happy to go back to the MC instead of the heroes as I just had no interest in their story/arc. If we had a few more episodes of this, I would have just skipped them as they are so tonally different than the show was previously. (And not in a good way, at least to me).

Even the fighting didn't land for me, but the lack of interest in the characters in the battle was probably a big part of it. Looking forward to see Makoto going to the academy and how that plays out.

Man, I feel so bad about how they handled this. I already knew that since this was not shown in the first season, in continuity with Makoto's story, it was going to be very difficult for it to be a good adaptation but it is still depressing

Beyond that the other two heroes have an action or adventure style more similar to a normal RPG, so to speak, where they gain strength little by little; The important thing is not that in their stories, it is what is happening in the world with the war and the corresponding countries after they were summoned (Gritonnia in particular, that place is a SHIT HOLE)

Which on top of that generates a very good anticipation because one knows that eventually this will come into contact with Makoto and her company, and it build enough tension to see how things develop when that happen

I see a lot of people trashing on those suppose-to-be heroes and with fair reason, although some thought these last two episodes were filler episodes, reality is all this is canon and either we like it or not, we'll have to see them again more time than we'd like to. But well, class is about to start.

Feels pretty f* boring, considered dropping the show last week and I hope we don't bump into this kind of episodes again...

I get it that this is all canon, but I don't really care about the other heroes, even if they'll have impactful moments looking forward. These last two episodes felt like a giant wasted potential for the anime as a whole. There was nothing happening that could have caught my attention during all of this.

Well, kinda boring episode. Again, it was mainly focused on the heroes pov, and tbh, I don't care about them. Hibiki is just stupid (why TF would someone lucid abandon their family with a good life to fight with demons in a shity isekai? "to challenge herseft?" god damn, she's crazy) and bro, tomoki is just a dumbass mf. Also, that goddess.... mc's actually right about her...

At least, in the next episode, mc's pov is gonna be back, apparently....

But yea, this second season may not be as good as the 1sd one, for now😢.

pretty boring ep IMO. it's nice to see what kinda relationship and attitude the summoned heroes have, but it wasn't as interesting as watching Makoto face off against the dragon slayer. hopefully next week's episode picks up a bit and we see a lot of makoto and his gang's exploits lol

then we got that "Megami" spotted where Mikoto is and forced him to teleport into the battlefield once again. The "Megami" really getting annoying but somehow it's interesting how "she" treat Mikoto.
