Isuzu annoys me. ALOT
she's like Yuka's clone
dunno how long we have to keep watching her make the moves on Hiro
her brother got wierd vides when i first saw him
<_<

other then that good epi
although it had almost nothing to do with the plot
The next epi i don't think I'll watch
1. Isuzu is gona keep making the moves
2. brother is gona go loco
3. is it really part if the plot?!?

Oh my god crappy CG is crappy. On top of that, items quickly change between CG and not-CG... It's annoying.

About the story, it has little to no appeal to me. I hope it gets better later on.

Quick question: Is this supposed to wrap up by the end of its run or is it in the question/answer format of Higurashi and Umineko?

That's a mystery to almost anybody right now, as the anime decided to ditch the structure of the original and makes up it's own plotstructure. So far nothing wrong has been added, but much of the original's gloom (I would call it that) is lost because they move through the first parts of the story at racing speed....

And they even add things that normaly you wouldn't learn until much later in the story, but if that's really harmful...only time can tell

I like how this series has a wolf theme to it...

And Isuzu is just...uh, how do I put this? She's just so over the top annoying and clingy that it makes me laugh. Like the creator was trying too hard to make her like that. :P

I hope she turns out the be a psycho yandere. That would redeem her. XD

And Hiro is reminding me of Sakurada Jun from Rozen Maiden. Dunno why though, Peach Pit aside.

It's pretty obvious that all the people that find the dull main character and his family interesting are wolves. What isn't obvious is whether or not Nemuru and her nightly assasin crew are wolves. I suspect if they are wolves then Nemuru would have to be their pack leader since they all seem to respect and follow her.

If they are really wolves why is the OP showing them as gaving batman wings or like bats? It's has been bugging me for sometime at all this. Unless they are gliders...doubt it.
DeathfireD said:
If she isn't a wolf then she may be one of the few humans still alive and possibly given the task of making sure the wolves know their place. I presume all the humans live on the old side of town and all the wolves live on the new side. I came up with this conclusion due her Issei's brother mentioning that his family moved to the new side...and from the preview we know Issei's brother is a wolf.

True that wolfs constantly move around but I think they are more in old town....because of their terrytory marks or you might be right in that they moved to the new town to have fresh new ones make them be like them...but it would be seriously to foolish in the thing is transmitted only by a kiss and not with a whole intercourse. It can be only by kissing (saliva) but all this remains to be seen the blushing of that girl clearly was more red thus there could have been intercourse (personal experience says it with me)
DeathfireD said:
In any case it seems they have a rule that prevents them from getting too close to humans. If they do then they get put down as we've seen twice so far. I'm not exactly sure if this rule is to protect humans from being slaughtered or to protect the pure blood of their pack (ie. No sex between humans or wolves outside their pack).

I am more on the side of protecting the pure blood. Look at how all back out from Nemuru except Kaname ...even Isuzu does but refuses in a way because of her attachment to Hiroshi.
DeathfireD said:
What I don't get is the significance of the fruit that they've been throwing in our face almost every 2 seconds. Wolves favor meat over fruit so it's a bit baffling why they have a dancing wolf holding melons.
Baffling? Why not think of fruit is substitute of meat since there is none.

Even though we're all making rape jokes, I think the preview makes it clear that he's not coming onto him for sex. I mean, look at his eyes! Whatever it is that makes people freak out in this town is what's happening to him. I think he wants to eat him in an entirely different way, er.

Anyway, I thought the most interesting thing in this episode was the argument between Isuzu and Nemuru. I was really curious what was being said there, and it showed a side of Isuzu we haven't seen before. I really can't hate her that much after that scene, because I think there's obviously something weird going on here with her.
Let's just say it's freak out time next episode!

I love that people are saying that they shouldn't expect this show to get good until a few episodes from now because Higurashi and Umineko started off slowly. While Umineko definitely did (but that's only because they had half a dozen characters to introduce), I remember Higurashi having the main character murder the supporting characters rather quickly in the show (wasn't it the first or second episode?). If Higurashi had anything going for it in the first season, it was that it had atmosphere and tension coming out the ass from the get go (that's what a good director does). If Umineko had anything from the first season (and this is a stretch, because I hated the show) it was an interesting concept.

So far, Ookami doesn't have the atmosphere of Higurashi, and as of right now, doesn't have the concept of Umineko. To top that off, because the cast is so small, so flat, and so annoying (this was Higurashi's problem also, except for a few characters who weren't children) there's really nothing to pay attention to besides the fact that Ryukishi made this. That's why the word 'ripoff' gets used. That's why people say it's boring and slow.
I will admit noteDhero your criticism is logical. What do you suggest (making you think more) would increase the show being better in the next few episode please do assume somethings.
seizonsha said:
While Ookamikakushi is calmer compared to those two, even as a VN, the anime somehow fails to portrait the creepy parts of the story correctly and justs speeds towards the important plot points, leaving characterization as well as atmosphere behind.
Well the positive thing is that Umineko as an anime starts to shine even more when being compared to this...^^°
But I really hope they start to pick up the tension a bit next episode...because THEY CAN, I assure you.
So it looks like you know the VN of this...please spoiler us if you can. I would say the whole marriage thing at then end of this episode made me angry enough not to be calm but they are calming things down by having the Isuzu/Kaname x Hiroshi stuff.

From what I've heard about the game, it's not like that so we should get all the answers by the end. The game has a bunch of different arcs and the anime is mixing them all together.

That's what i'm afraid of, Deen ruined already F/SN anime by mixing arcs. Glad that didn't happen in Higurashi.
Why there's no english VN version... x/ !?

Better than last episode picked up the pace a little bit more though still pretty flat. The preview for next episode seems like things could be getting good. (or at least some good yet totally odd and freaky BL service)

They need to make the mysterious bits of this a little bit more tense though.

uRG....I'm sooo close to dropping this...everybody being too clingy with Hiro (especially Isuzu) for no reason is starting to get on my nerves...and Hiro....he's a TOTAL WIMP....blushing every 10 second or something. If a mob of fangirls suddenly stalked/attacked him...he'd never know what hit him.

It's like....What the heck am I watching?! How a sequence of events leads to a dude getting overpowered/raeped?! I'd rather go watch real clear-cut yaoi then, thanks....

....but I'll give this series one more chance. If I don't get anything plot-revealing soon and just get more you know..."clingy/sexual suggestive stuff" ....3 strikes it's out.

Make your predictions. Last EP was a good start. I hope this episode will be more exciting though.

My prediction:

The people in this village are almost all wolves uncounsiously or not tough I think they are concious of being wolves. They must abide by some laws, one of them being the interdiction of having a love relationship with anyone other than one of their kind so that the two race do not mix. The killers we see every episode are a group leaded by the upper one making sure that all wolves obey the law, the girl with purple hair is a representative of the old village rulers so she is feared by everyone.

Basically the old village is composed of only wolves who wanted to live together against the people in the new city who wanted to be free and mix with humans leading them to prosperity. This is why there's a big tension between the old village and the new one.

They all likes the main character because he probably is the only human in the class with the exception of the other girl who seem to have moved not long ago, they get interested in him because he is different of them but it goes against the old village rules so when they see purple girl they do like they aren't interested.

I don't think that purple girl is that bad, she's just warning everyone that if they do not obey the rules they will get killed no matter what she say or do so she want to limit the casuality. The annoying main girl beleive she can protect the main character hence why she disputed with purple girl who knows that she can't do shit about it.

That's what I deducted from watching episode 1 and 2, I don't know where it is going but this is getting good.

This series is getting weird and weirder because I don’t understand why that Isuzu clings to Hiro like that, and her brother have a mysterious motive since he often appears in this episode. I don’t like that preview for the next episode that have Isuzu and Hiro scene in it. However, I feel that story will be interesting and mysterious, so I will watch more episodes for answers to these events.

I'm not exactly sure you understand what I said lol. The new side was most likely a huge forest which was cut down and turned into a city. It would make sense that the wolves would stay there as long as possible to keep their land. The old section was made by people so it would make sense that people would still live there and hate the new side. I'm not sure where you where going with kissing and intercourse lol. It's common knowledge that if your bitten by a warwolf that you would turn into one as well. Whether or not these are warwolfs is unknown though. I can only think that these are some sort of half human half wolf hybrids that could pass on some sort of infection to humans to make them turn into one as well. But then again the whole wolf story could just be there to throw us off. This may just be one huge infection that spreads. If these are wolves though I suppose they could also breed with humans but I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet lol.

I guess there are the 'upper' and the 'lower' wolves. The upper wolves probably live in the old part of town and the rest in the new part. Issei would be one of the upper wolves mingling with the lower wolves, too keep control. Or he's just a fallen wolf as well, just like the shinigami-ish girl hunts wolves and he'll be the next victim.

Anyhow, this episode almost killed me. Nothing really happened and Isuzu is just annoying. The only funny part about this is Mana.

Oh no I do understand that townspeople are wolfs and from what Nemuru said in her assassin form "fallen wolf" is logical to go that way. Thing is if the answer is that the assassins are wolves then why would they have wings. Clearly they might not be and only Nemuru is from what she looked like and you can clearly see she has a tail when running at one point.....I am thinking she is a morph ling that is half human half wolf.

And Nemuru-chan is his only hope for survival, because she's actually Parental Controls software and blocks any/all rape.

Impossible for hentai classification because there is no 18+ scenes. Just impossible this will be hentai.
succesful troll is succesful

anyway, I don't like Issei. The lolicon bastard. He'd even do the wheelchair girl. And if they're neighbours, why the hell did he take the car?? Didn't get much of this ep. Random kills and everything.

The only thing I really liked about this ep was the awesome wheelchair animation.

This show is about rape .____. Basically everyone wants to rape the guy who looks like a girl... and it's screwing with my brain D: and how is this not classified as hentai? >.> did you SEE the preview for episode #3? This is a hentai in disguise. Everyone wants to screw Hiroshi and that's a fact. o__o I swear to god, the fourth episode, if not the next one based on the preview, that has Hiroshi pressed up against Issei, blushing and protesting as he's BEING FONDLED will include a full length sex scene.

This discussion is turning into a nice direction. Everybody gets to rape Hiroshi. Would make an original story and no Higurashi copy.

I swear that if nobody knew it comes from 07th expantion and it wouldn't have the sumarry made to make the anime look like Higurashi, a lot less of people would call this a higurashi copy.

While it start from a similar base it goes another way than Higurashi which focused on fighting against fate and was divised in a lot of little arc.

THAT would be innovative and entertaining. Tell a scary legend, touch him on the penis.

Wrong. People who went into this blind (like me) felt Higurashi vibes. But that really doesn't even matter, since everyone pretty much agrees that what has aired so far is generic.

It's unbelievably uninteresting so far. Hopefully it will get ridiculously funny like Umineko, at least.

Cant see why people compare with Ryukisihi07s other works this isnt Higurashi or Umineko it doesnt have the clock turning back and leaving you to fill in the blanks

Ookami takes a different path and while it does have a slow start thats no reason to hate that happens in a ton of animes
