The Aoishi-Kenshin fight was really good. And Kanryu is a treat any time he's on screen.

While I think Aoshi is an absolute dickhead I can respect the fact that he would rather scrape around for money doing mercenary work than abandon his comrades, in that regard he is an excellent leader.

@cableguyjay

Aoshi is a great first villian in this series. He brings some danger and is a good lead-ion for those to come.

I really want to see kenshin face total defeat. Seeing him win in the end each and every time is getting predictable. Although his problem solving is cool and catered to the master he's fighting, the outcome is as we guess before the fight even happens. I can see Aoshi is fighting with the wrong convictions which is a flag that Kenshin's conviction will win in the end, but I like when there is more hardship and growth for the MC.

great episode, the fight with Aoshi and Kenshin was kind of intense. Aoshi had the upper hand but I wasn't that fearful for Kenshin because of his insane durability and adaptivity which scored him the victory. To beat Kenshin you need to use your insane ability right away and just go for the one-shot. Dilly dally and your chances of success plummet by the second.

But anyways kanryu is batshit crazy, but his rambling left me mildly amused at least lol. I wonder how they are gonna defeat him? As fast as they are, not one person on the other side can blitz him so they might have to rush him since he can't aim for everyone at once. They'll take heavy losses but it may be the only way, unless our maiden in distress breaks out of her prison and hits him with a vicious dark souls 1 chain backstab ya feel me?

Ah so no wonder they used the dance room as the duel arena. Aoshi really like to dance so much, huh? Almost got beaten, Kenshin heavy plot armor manage to hold off the ambush attack after the dance, and easily knocked him down through the throat even if it's only last for just 10s? What a tough guy, even he act like a true leader which can't abandon his friends no matter what. Too bad his stiff competitiveness led him into the wrong guy to stay and fight which ofc ended up not good there.

Kanryu finally used those damn hidden package which turned out to be a fucking damn gatling gun! Oh shit bro really cooking with all the money and surely giving a bloody cliffhanger at the end. Old man, i wish you survive since you suddenly become cool. So fuckin devoted. Oh boy, let's just see the next for the end of this first cour!

Kenshin vs. Aoshi!

  • Two masters
  • Two different styles
  • Two very very different philosophies

It's a good fight, broken up by discussions as in reality both men aren't just fighting to prove who is stronger, they communicate through fighting, while fighting. Part of me actually loves it when characters do macho bullshit stuff like this. So hot. * fans face *

There's an obvious winner at the end, and then Kanryo shows up with his Gatling gun! Of course the ultimate underling isn't going to just stand by while his boss dies ... Oh nooo.

Dang it, it's a good thing I have one more episode I can watch tonight. On to 13!

Kenshin vs Aoshi fight was good and Kenshin won. Aoshi's subordinate got shot, he's gonna rip apart Kanryu for sure.

i feel very unsatisfied with the fights. they are so short. i wanted this arc to be longer. the previous episode where both of them were dealt with in the same episode was dissapointing. i get it that they want it to be loyal to the manga. i will re-read the manga in color after i finish this season because i forgot alot of things. but i wanted them to take more liberties with the fights. make them longer. more flashy.

there was one moment where i cringed hard. when kanryu started shooting at them and yahiko said "hes not aiming at them on porpuse because he want to torture them"

really? i mean its not like we dident noticed already that the show is set in a fictional universe with super powers and humans who are giants as well. you dont need to try to explain it. its just comes up as cringe. maybe its what written in the manga but i doubt kanryu will waste all this ammo just for fun when a scene earlier he was crying about how hes gonna lose. yeah. i dont think so. doesnt add up and dosent make any sense whatsoever.

also. whats up with kanryu over-acting about money? that sounded like it was ripped straight from south park or something. that and the cringe scene at the ship with the american sailor as well.

The starting is a normal anime story type. I like the part where characters are from different categories and they come up and make groups. Kenshin, bonded together it looked good. Basically, the Samurie story-based story is interesting.

I watched the old version more than 16 years ago. It was too old animation. At that time I didn't understand the storyline. I like to watch samurai stories with fight scenes. So plan to watch this new one.

Episode 19 running...
