Why are those two Visored Captains soooo weak, it's so painful and sad watching them fight...

Is this a trend for Visored captain-level shinigamis or something?

Ichigo before he trained in Dangai was weak as well : Got toyed to almost dead by base Grimmjow barehanded, got bodied easily by Ulquiorra even with mask on, easily lost against Gin too with mask on even though both of them used Bankai etc.

Shinji, I can't really talk about him yet since i dont know if his bankai were also effective against Sternritter/captain-level opponents as well. He only used it against some foot soldiers.

...and now there are these two weaklings in eps 5, got bodied easily by a Quincy just by using his schrift and not even using Vollstandig form yet.
I also never understand why they never used their mask like Ichigo did during Arrancar Arc.
Did they lose easily because the superstar quincy just bad match to them or because those visored captains simply too weak?

the visored get treated like ass which is whack asl bc they’re cool as fk. shinji one of my fav characters but he takes L after L. his bankai would def work on top tiers but he jus never has the opportunity to use it. story-wise, shit is way too broken to use on anything other than fodder

Well, by definition, they are captain level shinigami with additional hollow powers so they should be more powerful, but Kubo just makes them blabber on about their abilities and makes them lose.

In short, they aren't weak, Kubo did them dirty.

Ichigo lost to ulquoirria because ulquoirria is a freak of nature not because kurosaki is weak

I can't seem to understand, so I'll explain.
First of all, each Sternritter has a strength that is comparable to that of the captain. Compared to Espada, it can be said that it is upwardly compatible. There are more than 20 people, so of course there are lower-level existences like dominoes instantly killed by strawberries. But most of them are strong characters. Even if you don't steal the bankai, you will have a power setting that is equal to or higher than the commander's strength. Mayuri was defeated by Uryuu's evolution in Soul Society ARC, they are too strong because they can use that power like bankai instead of temporary. Furthermore, when it comes to the top members who haven't participated yet, they become so strong that even the captain can't touch them. The mask this time is not the highest rank, but he is one of the strong characters. It's not that Rose and Kensei are weak, they're just average captains, although of course they're not as strong as Kenpachi, Kyoraku, and Yamamoto. And the reason they don't turn into Hollows is that their stamina drains quickly and they can't let their guard down against mysterious enemies. It only lasts a few minutes, but like Ichigo they can bankai and hollowify. However, the idea is too easy as a warrior to an enemy who hides the power of the bottom, and a reader like you who has an idea will be countered in an instant. In other words, they used Bankai because it was more efficient. And the reason Kensei lost was that his opponent was too strong in the first place, but he was fatally injured because he couldn't respond to Mask's ability to grow quickly. The reason for Rose's defeat is, of course, that he explained Bankai. But anime and movies are like that, because they have to show us what they are doing. It's even more so if it's the explanation of Bankai that I showed for the first time. Well, with exceptions like Unohana's Bankai, she's special. Basically, BLEACH is a well-mannered manga that makes it easy to explain and convey abilities to readers during battle. In addition to that, I wanted to exaggerate that the author's story was about defeating Rose and Kensei, and that Mask was this strong. And this is a big war between the two great powers of the Shinigami and Quincy. Some win, some lose and die, that's the reality. Like last Komura. And the reason why Renji was able to overwhelm Mask with Bankai is simply because he became stronger. That's why Renji appeared on the screen in the recollection of the scene where Kenpachi was summoned by Zanpakutou. He came back stronger through his training. The current range is several times stronger than ordinary captains like Kensei and Rose. Then you can fantasize about how strong Rukia, Byakuya, and Ichigo are, but let's wait and see. I think that TYBW suffers from understanding because the inflation of power is amazing. You can understand it if you turn your attention to the point of view that the author wants to draw and build the story in this way, and to show it to the reader in this way. If Kensei and Rose can't understand the meaning of defeat after understanding the story structure and author's reasoning I explained, let's complain to Kubo. Your idea and Kubo's idea of development feel do not match. It is Kubo who manipulates and plays with the characters, and there is no fault with the characters. And just as you think, battles always have compatibility. In close quarters combat, the stronger one wins, the weak point of close combat is long range. Even if close combat is the strongest, it doesn't work for special ability users. For special ability users, use special abilities that can seal it, or break through special abilities with brain analysis power. This time, the range with the strongest power won the battle between the close quarters.

That's right. If I do say so myself, I don't need to read this long piece of shit talking about the obvious process. However, as with any work, as long as there are people who can't accept the ending of the characters, if the author just made the characters dirty, probably the words are insufficient and the meaning will probably not be understood deeply. It's a word for people who won't understand unless you start from 0

A lot of characters power level is all over the place in this arc.
- The 4 characters who went with Squad Zero got a bigger power boost in a few days than the Visoreds who had a 100 year to prepare to fight Aizen one day.
- Shinji gets one-shot by Bambietta. But later holds his own against much stronger opponents.
- Kyoraku gets injured and loses an eye to a weak opponent. Later he defeats a 10 times stronger enemy.
- Uruyu does nothing in this whole arc, still gets random power-ups.

Kensei's Bankai is trash because it relies on just raw power and nothing else, and those are always the worst types of Bankai to have, as Komamura has proven time and time again. Rose is just an idiot though; why he explained that his Bankai's ability worked via sound, I'll never truly understand. Had he kept his mouth shut, he definitely would've beaten Mask de Masculine imo.

Shinji is an interesting case because his Shikai is so much more useful than his Bankai, but once the opponent figures out what his Shikai does, any character with an average IQ can figure out how to counter it. People praised Aizen for figuring out the illusion behind Sakanade in the FKT arc, but it doesn't take a genius to beat Shinji's Shikai: Bambietta just used common sense.

Theres no real power scaling in this series cause its just having fun fights, so far theyve done a good job being pretty give or take with soul captains and visors going down, we had to burn through like 5 seperate characters to take down 1 guy this most recent ep after another mainstay pseudo died to take down another the previous ep.

Mask is simply a stronger Sternritter is how I interpreted it. What I didn't like was that Renji post Soul Palace Training could manhandle a Vollstandig Mask. This makes Renji stronger than over half the captains. The real meta reason this happened is Kubo wanted Renji to get a W and sacrificed the vizards for it.

The 4 that went to train with squad zero got a huge power boost because that what happens when you go to that place, also Ichigo is broken. We have stablished that since day 1 of Bleach.

Shinji Getting 1 shot by Bambi is because Shinjji got cocky and underestimated his opponent. Bambi just used her brain and launched attacks in all directions to counter Shinji's sakanade.  I do agree Shinji was done a bit dirty here.

Kyoraku got severely distracted by Yamamoto's death at that moment and his opponent took advantage of that.  That's why he got all much more serious for later combats, together with his position as the new head Captain.

Uryu's power-up came from Yhwach himself, so it makes sense... kinda.  idk.

I do have to say here that I disliked the way KUBO treated Kensei and Rose.  They could have given more fight instead of been roflstomped soo hard. I low-key wanted to see a Dragon ball-esque battle between Mask and Kensei, since both used their hands to fight.   Rose's actions were dumb in the manga were he explicitly says that his power comes from sound, but in the anime he just implies it.  it was still dumb, but less dumb since he didn't expect his opponent to willingly destroy his sense of hearing in order to counter Rose's powers.

The visored captains are some of the weaker captains. My headcanon says that Aizen singled them out from the other captains in turn back the pendulum BECAUSE they were the weakest captains; ergo making them easier to trick and turn into hollows. The visored clearly weren't training in the human world, opting into a more chill lifestyle, which could also have made them rusty, and thus even weaker than in turn back the pendulum. As for the hollow masks: For one, they don't last long. The masks take a ton of stamina, and with so many quincy, I doubt the visored wanted to exhaust themselves too quickly, which obviously did not work to their advantage. Another theory is that central 46 outlawed hollow masks as a condition of the visored captains becoming, well, captains again. This is somewhat supported later in TYBW by the visored that are not captains using their hollow masks, whereas the visored captains did not. Obviously it would be nice if Kubo made these reasons more explicit, but I feel they're solid theories nonetheless. There's a huge range in power amongst the captains. Some of them are even weaker than lieutenants, whereas others are stronger than multiple royal guard members.

I will try my best to explain i don't think Kensei was a bad match he just went into the fight big headed and got whooped and Rojuro was a bad match up in my opinion and who know's maybe central 46 had Kurotsuchi do some Dehollowfication experiment to allow them to be Captains again. Renji is a whole different story at the soul palace he eats food that was imbued with powerful spirit energy then he undergoes training learns his Zanpakuto's real name and he's wearing the oken clothing. These clothes are made from the bones and hair of the members of the Royal Guard, and they possess incredible defensive power!

So yeah renji was stronger then most of the gotei 13 captains at the time.

This! Such a simple explanation for the series of events that happened but noooo people have to write a whole book about what happened, it's simple explanation, Renji is more popular, kensei and rose are not popular so Kubo decided to sacrifice them to make renji look good, renji's bankai was shit but since he is a popular character Kubo had to make his initial bankai a fake bankai to give him more power.

Simple explanation for why hitsugaya get's so much screentime other captains don't, or why Shinji doesn't just take on multiple Sternritters at once with his op bankai, or why Byakuya is still alive, because bleach cares too much about popularity in this arc. I heard somewhere that byakuya was supposed to die in initial confrontation with Quincy, but fans backlash made Kubo bring him back alive, if that's true no wonder rukia was the one to defeat that guy.
