At first glance, it looks like NO game no life but in high school. But many things depends on The MC personality. If the MC is more on The Ayanokoji side, then the anime have potential to be very good.

This is geek toys we're talking about. And the source material doesn't have a particularly high rating either, coupled with the fact that it's one of only 2 works by the author, having high expectations will only serve to be let down.

I'll still watch with an open mind as a seasonal trash enjoyer.

I can safely say that this feels like a mix of both "No Game No Life"(NGNL) and "Classroom Of The Elite"(COTE).

It thinks it's a very smart show(Just like NGNL), but it falls flat when compared to actual "gambling" novels like Kaiji. It tries to have a cool chad like our man in COTE, but he's definitely not as the writer thinks the male lead is.

You should come in with a "4/10 show" expectations, it would be an entertaining show, but it's nothing to write home about tbh.

I read the novel, I won't repeat everything on what i said above(it's a reply quoting to another person), but it's certainly a show that thinks as itself as a very smart show, but it certainly isn't as smart as it thinks it is.

I would say a merge of NGNL and COTE would be a better explanation

The thing is, Hiroto needs to keep his status as a seven-star student the whole time, but one loss and he is out.

not really it's more similar to classroom of the elite you can go read volume 1 on jnovels but the others aren't in English although it's an ongoing LN series

I suppose NGNL meets COTE is a sufficient way to describe this. My first response from the synopsis was more in the way of Kakegurui. Sounded almost like a direct parallel.

Just watched the PV and the animation style looks pretty plain sadly. NGNL had an extremely ethereal feeling to it, especially with the red outlines. Here's hoping this show can give us one finally good game-style anime for the first time in forever though.

The "strongest in games" scenario literally screams [NO Game NO Life], just it's based in a School and no actual magic involved.

I find it more towards the line of Chivalry of Failed Knight or Asterisk war.

Male MC is a weak candidate based on Academy Standard. He is there for a personal reason. He met the Queen/Empress/OP Female MC in awkward scenario leading towards a challenge & obviously defeating her.

Male MC not liked by most students. Feel very nostalgic.

"Failure" MC that's actually really strong.

This is like the most generic plot but it's the execution that matters and this fails at that.

kind of wanted to like it but I feel why people may not like this series. Classroom of the Elite mixed with no game no life is a recipe for confusion that requires multiple rewatches, in a season with so many other returning shows
